A recorded message from an american woman told me I'd won a holiday to Orlando with my family and she wanted me to press one.

We've had this call for the last two evenings ... a bit annoying as we're ex directory.  Already registered with TPS which appears to work quite well as this is the only call  of this type to get through for years! Will download the ICO complaint form and report it anyway.

They are now calling from number: 02030263650 saying you've won a holiday press ''9''. Has anyone actually pressed 9 and spoke to them?

Also had several Carribean cruise calls.
Reading the posts on this topic, if it is tue that it costs the recipient nothing if they dial 9 but it does cost the caller, then perhaps we should all dial 9 and when the 'American' voice comes on tell them to wait while we get our husband/wife/partner to speak to them. Then just leave them hanging on until they get fed up. This will cost them money.

I have recently taken a call from 02030265001 so I decided to ring it back. There is a pre-recorded announcement which states that the number has never been allocated to a proper customer, to treat it with caution and to report it to your 'phone company. The name of Sinwood is mentioned. This is clearly a scam but the announcement appears to be genuine and cuts off as soon as it has finished.

Have receieved a call from this number this morning. Am I the first Virgin customer to be gettting these calls. I notice that all other calls refer to BT and TalkTalk.
Still the same message: "Congratulations..."

Sorry, but what Gordon says sounds like he's a stooge for your company.

He doesn't sound very concerned that one of his numbers is being mis-used: just reprint his brochure and carry on?  Not realistic.

If you have can point to Internet sources (reputable), that state that bad guys can make calls FROM other peoples telehone numbers - publish it here please

I'm getting these calls in the evening and they are very annoying. I did read your company's message but can't see any evidence that it is even possible to spoof a telephone number in the way that you claim. It might be possible that your company is a victim but it is equally probable that your company is liable.

However got a call today from 02030263650 and love and behold it is the same company again, and I thought "ohhh god not again".
I don`t know if this number (02030263650) belongs to you or they have started cloneing someone elses number, thought I would let you know just incase that belongs to Simwood as well,,, if it does I`m sorry to inform you that they are at it again! my friend.

So it's not just me that gets junk faxes from Barclay's. From my expeience you'll be getting lots more.
They keep sending faxes despite having promised on at least 6 occasions to stop. They appear to trade from a London mailbox address, only handle calls through a call centre and always refuse put me through to anyone with seniority.
Looks like the parent company Barclay's Recovery Services are having theie licence withdrawn by OFT. All sounds very suspect and I would not want them collecting debts on my behalf.
