- TonyJust had a call from them.
Female call handler, Told me to shut up and dropped the call when i asked that they stop calling me.
Called back, asked to speak to a manager, and had several apologies, they might even have been genuine. Apparently now on a 'do not call' list. Not really going to hold my breath to see if it's true.- Caller: Onlince PC Genius

- BigAlMy mother was bullied into logging on to her computer having been told that it had a virus and they could fix it. This service was allegedly free having followed the instructions she was told the cost was £180 for an 18 month contract. Having given her card details sh is now £180 worse off and the computer does not work. We have phoned 'Online pc genius' and been given the runaround.

- PhilipI got a call from Online PC Genius saying I had a computer virus. My computer has Norton running and it says everything is fine. I asked the lady how she got my number and she gave some reason which I can't remember. I then asked her for my address and she gave an address for a house on a street nearby. My view on this, is that I don't have a virus and they are picking numbers from a data base in order to sell me their software or it could be more malicious. I don't know what the benefit is to them as I closed the conversation.
For your information, she told me to go to www.ukdata.com to check them out. It seems they are now at 2ND FLOOR, 43 BROOMFIELD ROAD, CHELMSFORD, ESSEX, CM1 1SY, UK
Incorporation Date 15-03-2011
There are various other on-line threads around which also discuss this company but I didn't find their own website which should alarm anybody. I suggest you put the phone down and make sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date.- Caller: PC Genius

- Mooky replies to Mrs. Andrews| 1 replyI see they conned you as well. Good security is free online, even Norton can be bought for £30, but if you want to give a complete stranger £89 = VAT then feel free there's always one fool i suppose!!LOL
PS, i am registered with TPS but these scam artists (who i suspect you work for) still call, i have reported them/you to TPS! - willsi recieved the same call ...but it was samantha who had a word with me .....she was very sweet and thats why i could not say no to her!she took the acces to my computer very smartly.. i know i sound foolish but yes if any one will recieve a call from her he /she will understand ...she can never be a scammer she was a darling !!!But for what reason i dont know?she handed over the call to some dude alex who pretended to be a technician! But for sure he was not ,i wanted to talk to samantha ,as he was so interested in selling me something that i got really irritated and hung up! - Lynda replies to JohnI just had a call from a company could not make out the name as the lady who was obviously Indian said I had viruses on my computer running in the background and they had received reports about it. I could hardly understand what she was saying and kept questioning her that I had the appropriate anti-virus software eventually she hung up on me.
- JacqulineHad a phone call from Online Pc Genuis from someone with a foreign accent. They said an error message had been sent to them from my computer. I have several qualifications in Computer Science and hence know this would be impossible, hence I thought I would play along with his lies.
I said that I knew about these issues (and pretended to be someone who knows nothing about computers). I then said part of the problem was my internet connection. i.e. I had none (a lie but I thought I would give him a challenge). At this point he did not even comment at the fact of how the error message would have got to him if I had no internet connection! He then gave some useless suggestions at how to fix the issue, none of his suggestions would have solved the problem.
His English was very poor. At one point he said the problem was with the distance the router was from the computer. I said it was less then 1 metre (and had to keep repeating this since he kept bringing up about the distance it was away from the computer). He then said the route might be too far away!!! I really did not think he understood the concept of how far a metre was. After telling him many times he finally understood the distance when I said to him the only way I could get it closer would be if I was to put the router on top of the computer. I commented (both at the start of the phone call at later on) this was not my home address. He then said (because he was not fixing my internet connection with his useless suggestions) I will call back tomorrow. I said again but this is not my home address. He then asked me for my home phone number. I thought what has my home address phone number got to do with the problems you have received from this computer from this address!
Seriously hilarious at his lies kept catching himself out. I can safely say this is not a legit company and is aiming on scamming people into allowing total strangers set up remote access to their computers through the internet to be infected by this company.- Caller: Online Pc Genuis
- woody replies to NickI got a call from these scammers 3 days ago, I had the same person telephone me for the past two months asking for a random name but this time I asked who was calling, he was foreign and very difficult to understand but he told me my computer was sending error messages and to follow his instructions, I asked for the company telephone number as I would not follow his instructions at all unless he allowed me to phone him, with this he pretended to not understand me and kept saying go to your computer and switch on, I did this but was very suspicious I went as far as geting onto a site called www.ammyy.com and then thought I should go no further, he got very irate and started shouting that he would personally kill my computer lol ''your computer will be dead in half hour'' he kept shouting, this was very bizarre and I would urge anyone to replace the hanset as soon as they say who they are or better still keep them on the line and every 5 mins say, ''i'm sorry my pc is slow at loading up, it's obviously got loads of viruses, can you please wait a while so you can help me'' haha
- bigclintfan replies to willamscopmuter repaired?.....what can they do for a computer?
- bigclintfani've just had a call from a slumdog millionaire saying he was from an outfit called "online pc genius"......and reading all the other comments on here....i ain't the first!! like most of you i recognised it as a scam straight away. as someone said previously, if the voice is indian, hang up.....unless it's the local takeaway telling you your order's ready! i usually let them witter on for a bit.....or the best thing is to ask silly questions or put a stupid voice on and act stupid! but for some reason, this fella got my back up! if he's a genius, i'm bloody einstein!!! i started arguing with him, and he got stroppy back...which i quite enjoyed. he didn't seem to understand that i have virus software and support from my provider and i asked if he was anything to do with them.he said no, but insisted that his company was getting messages about dangerous errors and viruses on my computer, but couldn't tell me how they were getting these messages. i asked for his name and after a pause,he said charles anderson!!.....which made me laugh!....i said "pleased to meet you! i'm inyat bunglawalla!!" he said they were a genuine company and that i could check them out online....and surprise surprise....the first thing that came up was this site (and a few others!!) full of complaints about these phone calls!! my advice is to either hang up straight away, or if you have a few minutes to kill, have a bit of fun taking the mickey out of them, then hang up!......don't do anything else!!!!

- bigjobbyLike many others, I've just had a call from these guys. I've been getting these types of calls sporadically over the last 18months or so and they look as if they're the same "company" who periodically change their name now and again.
Today's call didn't last very long though. Before the guy could get into the flow of his script, I persistently questioned which port these error messages were using to reach them. I think he knew he wasn't going to get anywhere and promptly hung up. It was a far nicer call than the previous one where I was stringing the guy along for 20 mins before I was told to "go **** myself!" before he hung up. Good to see their manners slowly improving. Must say, I do love how they say my PC is spewing out error messages considering I haven't used any Windows computers at home for over 14 years.
Anyway, to those unaware, these types of calls are from scammers who will fleece you and will probably mess up your PC whilst doing so. Avoid!- Caller: Online PC Genius
- mercilessJust had a phone call from the so called 'pc genius' from an asian lady with very poor english telling me that i had fatal virus's on my computer. She wasted no time in asking me to log on so they could 'help me fix my computer'. I was amazed i had fatal virus's as my computer was working perfectly fine. She was talking absolute rubbish and was unable to tell me how they obtained this information stating that it is my firewall that transmits a signal through the satellite. When quizzed further about where they are based about their address and phone number she was very quick to tell me she would ring me tomorrow. Looking forward to the call as i can tell her exactly what i think and where to go.
