They've called a few times. I am abroad and, therefore, call people back on Skype. This company does not identify itseelf, just puts you in a queue. I found it a bit worrying. Thank goodness I put the number in to search. Thanks!

Got a call from this number called them back to get number removed from their records.

A helpful chap called Roger told me that the telephone number 020 7980 7360 is a lo-call number that is charged at 10p per minute.  

It is no surprise to me that they are calling people and hanging up.  If you call back to complain they charge you at premium rate!

I need to post a correction to the above message.  Having checked with OfCom I have been informed that 020 7980 7360 is NOT a 10p per minute number.  

If your number is registered with the TPS you can register a complaint by filling in a form that can be obtained from here.

Apparently the fine per breach is £500- so if enough of us complain it might make them alter their behaviour.

Call received this morning (I12/10/2010) @ 09:31.  As above, I recently entered my number on two very well-known comparison websites.  Incidentally, I am very VERY careful to ensure I opt out of passing my details on to other companies/used for marketing etc.  Beware, beware!

once again your site is a winner!! i too have just recently used insurance comparison sites & ticked box to not have my details sent on to any marketing company but lo and behold what happens!! they still ring!! i have added the number to my mobile reject list so they can ring but my phone does not make a sound so i am not bothered!! good gadget to have!! i gave my mobile number on these comparison sites instead of the usual gobbledegook one (i.e. 01234567890) cos last time i used false phone number then tried to pay with my credit card it was stopped as phone number did not match my credit card security details!! sometimes you just cannot win!!

Have an android phone and found an excellent app called Call Blocker on the google market place, there is a trial.
Have mine set so that as soon as they call it cuts them off so they can't even get to my voicemail.

They call me every so often, sometimes there's no one there, sometimes they just ring once then hangup. It's a numbers game, they ring and it's loged as a statistic for them. Pain in the bum and they still haven't removed me from their database. gggrrrr

Just had call from this number.  Despite me saying "hello" twice, all I got was background noise and then they hung up.

When you get a call and you pick up and there is no one there, it is an auto dialer. These things collect times that the phone is answered and then a 'real' person can call you at that time.

When you get one of these call, don't say anything but hit your # button as quick as you can for 6 to 7 times, it's confuses the auto dialer thinking that you are a fax or such like, then it should disgregard your number in future.

Worth a tray at least.

The same for me as original post. They have my name and number! I really hate these calls and the people who pass on my number to people. If mine was taken from a comparison site for car insurance, why the hell would I want calls about this?!

I've also had a call from The Claims Guys on this number (silent call, which I returned to find out who they are).

They are provided with numbers via contacts from online comparison sites (the only one I've used lately is confused.com for my car insurance).

They've taken my number off their list, but they are also investigating for me to find out which company provided them with my telephone number. I am registered with the TPS. The guy on the other end of the phone at The Claims Guys was actually very polite and helpful so I'm not really annoyed with them; what does annoy me is the disregard for the rules demonstrated by whoever provided them with my number in the first place.

I have just used an insurance comparison website for car insurance so if that is the cause of this nuisance I will NOT be using them again.

these idiots called me on my mobile number non stop last summer asking to speak to my ex boyfriend. I told them it was my phone and to stop calling, now they have started calling again recently. They were even stupid enough to ask me for his new number. i told them i didn't think you were allowed mobile phones in prison. I am registered on the phone preference service, but this doesn't matter to them, so I am going to report them.
