I have a good friend Louise who is going through a hard time, but I wondered what she was doing in London - but I rang the number on the landline - lasted all of 3 seconds in to the intro and put the phone down

unwanted text from "Vikki xxx" in early hours

Ive had two messages one at 1.15am and again this morning, saying "call me 02081145568 Karen xxx" will be contacting o2 as i dont give this number out to anyone and im on the tps too.

Same message as Phil received at 08:00 this morning from Mobile 07500585712

i received the same text at 8 this morning to call Karen.. luckily i googled the number and founf these threads.. I am going to contact ofcom..

2 calls/ texts in last 24 hrs. Thought may b a scam so done nothing but google no. Never give my no out so don't know where they have got it from on o2 .

I received the same text this morning too. Don't respond, it's a scam. My understanding of the scam is that once you call the 0208 number (which is just a local London number), they then claim that you owe them money doing that (around £40) because you've used a service of theirs. Of course that's crap, but I guess they threaten to take you to court and the unwary will pay up out of fear. If you've responded already and they try this, then just tell them you look forward to seeing them in court.

Just tried to complain to ofcom. They say they only monitor these type of scams and phonepayplus should be used except it's not a premium rate number so they don't want to know either.

got the same thing - sneaky trick but can't understand how they expect callers to pay. the company should be dissolved and that man banned from registering a phone line, or breathing.

Haven't received any calls from the number, but all of a sudden have jsut recieved a text from +447500585777 saying "Call me 02081145568 Sami Xxx".

Using http://www.numberingplans.com/?page=analysis&sub=phonenr it shows the number as being a Vodafone number, and the landline number is provides is shown as a London number provided by Coulomb Limited which has already been mentioned above.  I'm on Orange and number is ex-directory and NOT on any marketing lists as it's a work phone and also registered with TPS.

Had a text from 07786409577 saying

Call me 02081145568 Sami Xxx

Had a message about 5 mins ago "Call me 0208 114 5568 NIkki xxx"

My number is TPS registered so will be passing it to them.

annoying text from 07786409581 this afternoon, asking me to ring 02081145568 Samixxx......as my name is Sam I thought it was an old friend got my new number of someone...spent a couple of quid in call time before I realised Id been scammed, how do these people get your numbers? I only ever ring a few close friends and a couple of companies to pay my bills. Very irritating . Hope this site isnt another scam to get my details

For the past 2 days iv bin puttin posters up for my lost cat with my mobile number on and today i get home to find a txt sayin - call me 020.... Nikki xXxX so i dint even look at the number i just rang it straight away only to hear its a dirty scam. Im really not happy, i feel like im goin to cry! i genuinly thought it was someone with info for my cat :-(

Nicola, your message really upset me, these *$%$£%&^%!! are causing people pain, have you seen the posts where these texts are leading to rows in relationships. Ive lost touch with a friend who called me Sami, Ive been very worried about them and I thought it was them getting in touch when I got a text saying "call me Sami xxx".  I so hope your cat comes home maybe dirty, tired and hungry but with a big smile on his/her face. :)Sam

if they turn out to be a regular thing can my network provider (which is tmobile) do anything about it?

I just got a text saying 'Call me 02081145568 Sami xxx', i dont even know how they got my number as its a company phone, so i dont give it out in surveys or anything like that. I knew it must either be a wrong number or a scam, so i checked it online, and surprise suprise, its a chat line.

Iv read through this forum and seen the problems people were having with partners because of these texts, its really bad!

So not only do i not have any info on my cat im also expecting hassle from this company more as iv rang it and a phone charge on top. Great
