I recieved a call from 020 84958734.  They asked if I was me and confirm I lived at my address.  I told them I don't hand information out and I coulkdn't confirm who I was until they told me who they were.  They said they were DVSL a "Business Commmunications Service" and they had a package for me and needed to confirm my address.  I told them they had the wrong number.  This is a breach of my privacy and something needs to be done about them!

Just had a call and didn't answer. You guys should know by now not to answer unknown or withheld numbers.

When someone asks you to confirm your details they have to do that because they cannot discuss debts with any one other than the debtor. So that puts you on notice if you did answer. NEVER give out details over the phone. If you can just put the phone down and leave them hanging. The longer they are waiting for you the less other people they can bother.


Remember these are just scum that buy old debts for a few pence in the pound and then chase you forever to collect the full amount. The harder it is to contact you the less likely they will continue to try.

I have soooooooooooooooooooooo many reports on these Scum bags DVSL/Capquuest etc.  I've never had debit.  I am ex directory and am astounded they got my name and address!  Part of me wants to ring them up and start harassing them like "Phone Jacker" comedy bloke.  Any one no what numbers to to put in so that my number is witheld when I ring them.  I would like to have some FUN!  In fact we all should.  How about I start with "Hallo Madam, I am ringing up on behave of BAR STEWARDS mailing service.  Are you Pollacks and would you care to "Go forth and Multiple?" Ive been having calls from this number 02084959734 and ignoring it, they have now got hold of my parents home numbers had have started calling them, they also have got hold of my neighbours number asking to confirm I lived next door. This should be illegal ....! I have no idea how they have any of these numbers as ive not given them out and this is a new number from my upgrade.

I had a missed call from this number at 9.15am. My mobile is a pay as you go and ive only had it for 2 months so I have no idea where they got it! I am so glad I searched the net and came across this website as I now know to ignore calls from them. I got a letter last week from a company called DVSL asking me to confirm my address so I assume its the same people!

Had a telephone call for someone else from someone perporting to want to deliver a package.The woman said she was working for DFS obviously fraudulently. Why are these people not in JAIL

Rcieved a call from 02084958734, claiming to be from DVTS something to do with data verification saying a company had tried to send me a letter to my last 2 past adresses when i asked who the company was the woman on the fone with a scotts accent said they couldnt and wouldnt tell me who the company was until i told her my current address to which i rufused to do and put the fone down

Had persistant calls from this number 02084958734. I don't answer but they continually leave messages saying it is an important call from DVSL. I have no idea who they are but have read they are not to be trusted!

I have just received a call form this number - they said they were calling from DVSL and were asking about a former employee and wanting his current address - I stated that due to data protection I could not give him past or present employees personal details where he apologised for bothering me and would take our details off their records - how they have got our details as past employer i do not know.

Have had constant calls for my daughter and some letter also - which affecting her credit rating and history. We have lived in north London. They are looking for someone from Portsmith  with a different middle name.

I along with you and many others by looks of it, in comments I've read - also am not in any debt, yet suddenly completely 'out of the blue' started getting missedcalls from lots of different numbers that I discovered to be from Capquest - debt collection agency.  I know full well I am in no debt to anyone so also don't understand why getting these calls and want them to stop.  I have not rung the number back that they leave in numerous answerphone messages.  Why would or should I ring them a debt collection agency when owe no money.  I want them to stop clogging up my phone!  I have contacted BBC watchdog and reported tem, and have noted reading other comments from people doing the same.  I urge as many as possible to do this as this has got to stop.

for special delivre to me if they d'ont stop calling me i 'll report them to the police

have today received a call from this number asking for a person i do not know then they asked if i lived at an address about 1/2 a mile away, i told them that i have had this telephone number for only 10 months from BT and they said it was probably a number recycled by BT and they would remove it from their system, so if you have a new number and receive a call from them don't  panic just explain the situation to them. if they call me again i will contact trading standards.
