- Ewa| 1 replythere is a job for web designer, good money and training, but they give you unly contact number for inetrview. i think its not a job just lie. first you have to pay for this training then maybe the give job
- Andy| 1 replyThis number is for trainee plumber or electritions
- frankie| 1 replyyeah i got the number stated as one for a Trainee Plumber and Electrician and you pay a contribution or something like tht.. my dad reckons its a load of [***] to be honest n my mum said they ask for like 700 pound for training..
- Mohamedyeah it's surely a waste of time and money, cause they ask money to enjoy in the training and they said "maybe you'll be inserted for a job"
p.s they say "a contribution may be required..."
over 700 pound...is it a "contribution"? is it "may be required" or "you must pay" ?
in this case i rather pay for a serious course...not surely for people who leaves only phone number... - ROSSTHIS IS A SCAM
YOU PAY FOR TRAINIG THAT COSTS HALF AS MUCH AS THEY ADVERTISE THEY MAKE A TIDY PROFIT YOU'VE PICKED UP A BIT OF TRAINING AT DOUBLE THE PRICE, AND THEN YOUR NOT EVEN GUARANTEED A JOB AT T5HE END OF IT...
UNLESS YOUR NAME IS "MUG" DONT BOTHER................
ROSS - scamI phoned up this number for the web designers offer and the guy who answered the call was very unprofessional, I knew with that playful and occasionally unpolite approach it could not be a serious opportunity, nevertheless he told me the company name was redwood and gave me their address in Croydon, but I googled Redwood and they are based in central London and they have nothing to do with these scoundrels that are trying to sell you 'train at home' packages.
- I call aswelllook not very seriusly and like they hide something....I think is an old truik.
My best julio - sammyyeh i totally agree, i got the paper and was going to apply, until i realised it was a bit weird why they wouldnt put a company name/ logo etc... no buisness details at all, dats a bit weird... and if the job is in london if it was true why print it in the sun cos i live in cornwall and it aint no good for me... its just a scam....
- DalA complete and utter waste of time. They wanted £8,000 for a complete plumbing training package. WOT A JOKE!! Drove all the way there, wasted petrol and nothing to get out of it.
- ChrisHi all,
I am glad these things are around as I always check numbers that I am unsure about. I am always very carefull as there is alot of people like this about and still is as I found out today. I saw their advert on the website londonjobs. Gave them a call and they spoke very fast, unprofessional and was very quick on the phone. Usually a company would ask if your able to get there ok and even directions e-mailed to you, but they didn't. It was like getting the leads and apointments and that was all they cared about.
After the phone call I was very suspious and began to think it over again. I know that no company should ask you to pay for their training. It's company training and the company pays for it. So me being me I searched. They didn't even give me the company name. I found this site and sure enough it's a scam. I am glad I found this because it would have been hours of my time and £17 on the train wasted.
I don't think I will be turning up! LOL

Thanks!
Chris - TomThese guys ARE based in East Croydon, I know, because I've been there... I was interviewed by a guy after filling out a short form.. he told me that a SMALL contribution of £3k would buy me qualifications in ICDL and CIW (Certified internet Webmaster). This guy interviewing me is meant to be a PRO in IT and then started giving me bs about "I've been a web designer since 1993" so i asked a simple question.. "I was 3 in 1993, what languages were about back then?" (Regarding PHP, HTML, ASP etc.), he tells me "Im not too sure, I didn't do the front end stuff"... A) Coding is CLEARLY backend. and B) In any case, that means he DESIGNED. Total tool.
So, an hour later I met my friend for lunch who was going to the SAME place, Redwood Futures, East Croydon, for a plumbers course... GUESS WHAT PRO INTERVIEWED HIM?! The same [***] that told ME was a PRO in Web development... was now a PRO in Plumbing!
Don't fall for it guys, complete scam!
Tom- Caller: RedWood Futures
- MartinI have an interview for plumber trainee monday-dont think ill bother now-thought it was too good to be true
- AhmedI agree with Tom as they did the same to me. i have been in web development since 2000 and the guy who interviewed me was of so root level that he surprised me. they tempted me for money back guarnatee job. ECDL and CIW are the coursed which i believe i can do it myself within two weeks. but these guys are charging me £3k( i.e. contribution, and was gone down to £1960 if i join within 7 days, lols). moreover they said we are charging the money for job guarantee not for course.
complete scam.
be careful about red wood future. - ahmed02087747709 AND 02087747700 belongs to red wood futures too. these numbers are scam too.
best of luck - SteveI am glad I found this the company looks dodgy as!
I went to an interview for a similar thing a very long time ago and the ppl always say they did the training and the best thing that ever happened to them but why the hell are they then working in an office not using their skills...
Total BS IMHO...
Beware the ICDL and CIW type quals in google bring up loads of scam stuff. You may as well learn web design yourself, get a job, then look at quals.
Best seem to be Adobe or degree level stuff. Be really careful with this stuff its all overpriced learn at home stuff mainly. You can become an expert with FREE stuff you can find online.

S - what i been scamedwhat please say its not true all my money has been wasted and i just completed the course, plus most of the learning material was out dated badly e.g. i started the course in 2008 and the has book backdated all the way to 2004. thank god i didn't cancel my university application for September this year
- Bidemi1968| 1 replyGuys, I've been really fooled by this guys called Redwood Futures. Most of you guys are lucky - I have lost money. They advertised in the Metro saying they would employ and train to become an Electrician. No experience needed. As I've been planning to train I felt the advert was God-sent. I met a black guy there (part Nigerian, part Brazilian) and he engaged me in a chat for over 30min about the state of Nigeria. The came the issue of money. He asked how much I can offer toward the training. I felt the higher I offer the better my chances (what a fool I was).
The third day he called and said I should come to register. When I called back that I couldn't make it that day, he said I should pay the cheque into their account. I was really taken aback. What's the hurry about I asked. He said there are few places and they could not hold a place for me if I don't pay now. Imagine! I went the following day and wrote a cheque to them and signed up. And what did they give me? I study pack for ECDL - one of the most basic computing study anyone can do on this earth. One of the questions in the pack was "What is a mouse used for?", "What is a cousor?" etc. I called them and said I don't need this [***] that I want to get into the Electrical Course proper. The lady said I must write a post-dated cheque to balance up my fee before they can ship out the course materials.
I wished I have found this site last week, I wouldn't have lost money to this people.
REDWOOD FUTURES is a scam and no one should bother even attending their bogus interview.
Spread the word, no one else must fall for these people.- Caller: Redwood Futures
- Thank GodThank you all for letting me know about this company. Even i was very desperate to learn wed designing. Today i have an interview. Which definately i am not going to attend..
- Yeah! Thank GodI thank God I read this...because I've been searching about this Redwood if they are real. I received a letter from them offering me a scholarship after my interview, a "reduced contribution" they said...its very attractive. But still I have some doubts. Your comments and experiences here made me decide now...I'm not going in there. Thank you guys for your help!
- JMI went to an interview today funnily enough and was told if i register within a week they knock off £1k frm the course fee. My question is who funds or pays the course fee if you cannot afford it? I thought i was actually going for a job interview when i saw them advertised in the metro newspaper. I was very disappointed when i found out that it was a training course, not a job opportunity and i really need a job, asap. I wish i'd found this website last week. Wouldn't have called them last week offering to apply for it
