Follower - Thank you for your response, indeed i agree i will try this out myself as i have enrolled and havent had any problems with any of their staff including the tutors. I shall begin the next stage of my studies soon, and hope that the scheme they stated to offer in our contract is actually what they do work by, and so in the end of it ill hopefully gain employment. I have been ripped off, i signed up with them in 2005 after seeing an advert for bookkeeper wanted, on the job training, 18l,. and i think it was in the loot, i was foolish, they gave me a test when i got there, then they said i passed and didint even give me the results, then scott davies started selling me a course, and lied to me saying i can take as long as i like to finish the course, when i said the contract says i have to finish in 30 months, which i cannot do, so i cant commit, then he said you can take as long as you like trust me, i beleived him, signed up, and now the contract has expired, they treat me like dirt, they hang up on me, force me not to do SAGE, arent replying to me letters, i paid them £2500 and have lost all that money, luckily at a local college near me, they are doing a similar course for £50 a year if you are on benefits so i hope to finish the course with them. If your interested in a course, just go to a college and do it, classroom based, or go to a tuition provider direct, these guys are just agents and a middle man, they dont provide you directly with any study material, they outsource and go to another tuition provider like oxford open learning, (which have cancelled the contract with them anyway), and you can go directly to them yourselves, they are liars and cheaters and they should be punished, i wont get my money back beause i signed the contract ad they will deny that they said "you can take as long as you like, just sign", dont fall for it please dont go to them for anything, they should be shut down,

Hello everyone, i just left a message recently, and i mentiioned scott davies who sold me the bookkeeping course back in 2005, the guy seemed nice and genuine, thats why i signed the contract and beleived him, maybe he wasnt lying to me, or maybe he was, i dont want to falsely accuse anyone, but its actually the company and the directors that make the decisions that probably put him in a position to tell me this so that he can get the sale,  i felt devastated like my whole future studies were ruined, as i trusted them, and invested over £2500 of my money of savings toward this course, i really didnt expect this would happen to me, when i paid the money a few people told me i made a mistake and that i should have gone to a college to do the course, but because i paid the money i started convincing myself that they were genuine and that it was all true what they told me, and was trying to reassure myself. Now i dont want to think of it anymore, but was just wanting to tell you my story and my expereince, and i think most people here on this forum have been ripped of my this company, even though some havent and have got their moneys worth, the majority here have been conned and cheated, so if anyone asked me about Redwood Futures, i wouldnt ever go to them again, or trust them again because of what they have done. I hope that less and less businesses like this operate as they are cheating people that are trusting them, and they are not telling the truth, and then they have to not speak to me anymore because they dont want to apologise or admit they are wrong, i cannot get my money back, someone here i think tried and went to court, and didnt suceed because of the signed contract. Its best not to, and best to go to a college or somewhere where you pay as you go, not paying up front for everything, if you pay as you go then you only pay for the each module at a time, and then your not worrying about paying for something you havent received. I got the study materials for Paper 3 CAT, so il try and use that as they will be out of date by december 2010, so il try and attempt the June exams, and revise now for it. I had some medical and health problems and i sent Redwood proof of this, and am still waiting for their reply.

I don't understand all this fuss. Surely they must provide their services and for that is correct in a way to what they offer. Not all companies are at their very best and everyone are free to accept the course or not right? They can't simply force you!

Exactly what I have been saying Jessy!!! nobody is forced to do anything, we all choose, but then when things don;t go right we complain!!!

Hello everyone, i just went for an interview yesterday for the ECDL/CIW course. At first, I was quite surprised about the content in the aptitude test...there were questions about general knowledge and shillings etc.

Then came the interview, the guy told me that they had to spend around £12k per month looking for trainees and that they would charge me around £1.5k for the course excluding exam fees around £285 if I am successful.

Can anyone please tell me how can I find out if Redwood futures is accredited by the CIW to do the web design course?

Also, did redwood get any trainees fulltime jobs with their clients?
I am very keen to know about that job guarantee thing.

The interview process was very good with **** (very nice man).   The staff, particularly ****, were very kind and helpful.  Signing the contracts was good, it made me feel comfortable and able to have confidence in the company.  The staff are nice people, they always speak nicely and very approachable.
The books were very good, easy to understand and to study from and they prepared me well to pass my exams.
Good choice of exam qualifications which are widely recognised in the field.  It was nice to have a personal tutor.

Overall Redwood Futures is proving every day that it’s a great company for giving opportunities to start a new career for those who don’t have a career or a way in to one.  Redwood Futures is a successful company in all the things that they deal with.

In the past I did not thought that I would be able to obtain any qualifications in regarding web designing but may I say this since the first day of me going in for an interview I could feel that what I was doing was correct and there for I could feel the fun that will be instored for me during my course.

During my course I have found that all the materials provided is more that just correct but it is a very good source in all web designs, the sources provided given me confidence for making somthing of myself and my future.

Most thankful to all the sources and help given to me from tutors, I can now start to have a career life and much brighter future

I’ve really enjoyed doing my Web Design course with Redwood over the past 18 months. The course material was very practical and interesting, and I received very efficient replies to all my emails during my home based studies. Thank you Redwood.

If you finish your course before the company goes bust again you will be ok. This company WAS called Topchoice Computer Careers and now are going by the name of Redwood Futures Ltd. Topchoice computer careers went bust in 2004, which explains the old course materials!!

I would strongly advise you to take careful consideration if you are thinking about taking out a course with this company -after all they are a limited company- here one day gone the next and so will your money!

I used to work for them when the company was trading under Topchoice computer Careers (hence the name) and loved it, shame it went bust really! I think they should change there marketing approach- advertise it as a training centre with recruitment support (no guarentees!), there reputation is going to get slaughtered everytime- the whole point of having a business is to be reputable organisation so customers and potential customers have confidence in your products and services!
To be honest your probably not the sharpest tool in the box if you think after the training you will be guarenteed a job- come on think about it, a job does not fall in your lap!!! However people with a glimmer of hope will grab this opportunity. Im sure if Redwood Futures are also offering applications of CDL's (career development loans) like Topchoice then im sure people with that glimmer would jump at it! I assume interest rates need to be paid ontop of the loans too!
No one is forced to do anything, people make decisions for themselves but the best advise I can is if you have started a course make sure you get all your books so you can at least take the exams at an external examinations centre.

In response to your post. You couldn;t have researched them that much as I am stuyding with them and have just got onto the Recruitment part of the course, and have not been given any information on the five fake comapnies you are talking about, in fact this is not even the correct process!

Maybe it would have been an idea for you to research the correct information, before trying to scare students and prospective students who are studing with them!

The only thing that i can say, is: just look at their website, for people who say they can give you an incredible web design course..., their own web page is sooooo unprofessional, and one more thing, in the "about us" section, they don't say anything about them..., how can you trust them then ??? anyway i have received the letter for the reduced fee from 925 pounds, but i'm not going to go for sure, anyway wish good luck to all of those allready started!

The Redwood Futures in E. Croydon is stablished by NON-Educated people and has three owners and using just one person who is graduated as IT manager and never be able to response the incoming call and give the answer to the students, you should send email in case you have any question and the guy will find the answer through the internet and copy it and send it to you.
They are using couple of Q&A as their assessments which is bought from external companies. If you look at their assesment you will find wrong answers as well.
I know them very well, therefore I would highly NOT recommend to do a course through their company. They are Rubbish!!!
They sell you the course. This means that you pay thousands of your money and they send you few books with obsolete contents about IT and you have to learn everything on your own. When you're ready for the exam you have to find an exam center where you have to pay again for the exams...
The exam centers are in no way connected with Redwood Futures LTD.. You can learn all the stuff they send you and even MORE!! on your own from internet and a local library instead of paying them money for giving you few photocopied books with obsolete material.

If you want to have a CIW, find yourself out what you have to learn, then find a test center and that's it. You can also find out what you have to learn to get a CIW certificate from a test center.

One more thing you should know about REDWOOD FUTURES is that they provide the course for the people who was looking to receive temporary permit to stay in England. (Actually they used the system to make money)

I am going to give one last reply as I feel as if I am winner a losing battle! Everyone has there own opionion on things, and every successful company has negative comments.

All I can say is I am a successful student with Redwood and am one of about 14 in my class, I have never had any problems with them, but this is my experience.

Like I have said before though, YOU NEED TO MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND and not base anything on the above comments, again these people are not even students!!!

hi,i  paid ????.?? for an electrician course with redwoods futures .i heard nothing for a week so i decided to pay them a visit in croydon.when i arrived at amp house to my horror i had learned that redwoods have uped and left with my money and other students monies (this will probaly answer the question a lot of people on here are asking are redwoods a scam YES ) so if the is any students out there still studying and have an new address or telephone number for redwood i would be greatful if you could pass it on to me so i can try a get my hard earned cash back.

wtf?! seriously!!!! i've paid 3k for this bs course, went there today and found out they've gone bust and have gone!!!! no notice NOTHING!!!! best advice i can give to the students there is go to your local student bureau and get some advice and try to claim your money back! and be careful next time!
