- DJust had Derek on the phone - what an obnoxious, rude little man. This scam is still on the go and I would advise anyone to give them no personal details, bank details or answer any questions about the car you are selling.

- PeteReceived a call at 17.45.hrs on Mon.25.01.10. from unidentified male on 02088881789 telling me he had five people interested in buying my touring caravan which had been placed on a website that same day. He spoke very quickly with a southern accent and requested that I had to pay 129.99. up front in order to secure a visit from a potential buyer. I would have been paid 200 pounds over the asking price from the buyer and would be refunded if the sale did not go through. Very dubious indeed. He told me that I would be shooting myself in the foot if I didn't go ahead with his request and I told him that I was not interested and that my alarm bells were ringing. He became very impatient having realised he was on a non starter and hung up very abruptly. Sellers beware!
- PeteFurther to my previous comment on 25.01.10 please be aware that at 11.50.hrs on Tuedsay 26th Jan 2010 I received a follow up call from a Private Number calling. Having already read the comments posted I was aware of Derek & Easysell. As soon as he identified himself I just spoke two words to him the last one being OFF. Please be aware of the PRIVATE NUMBER CALLING on your mobile or ladline.
- markafter reading all these comments im rather suprised to be totally honest..Had a call from andy gray a fortnight ago same as above really but i did get a sale at the end not at the price i was asking for but im glad they sold it in the end.
- PeteThese morons are sailing very close to the wind. Has anyone, who has made comments on this site after being ripped off, ever contacted the police for advice? If the website is a front for their questionable activities then just maybe there could be a case against them for Conspiracy, attempting to or even obtaining monies by deception.
- JonGot a call from these guys yesterday. I am advderising a caravan for sale on the internet and they advised that they were contacting me on behalf of a buyer for whom they had arranged finance. They asked when the caravan was available to view and confirmed that the buyer would turn up with the cash. The guy said that I would receive £200 more than the advertised sale price - suspicious immediately. They wanted an immediate payment of £129.99 for their services! No reputable company would ever transact business in this way. If something seems to good to be true it almost certainly is. Don't get taken in by this nonesense. I told the guy to get lost and unbelievably got a call back later the same day with him trying to pull the same stunt again! I will report the company to trading standards next week.

- Denisgot a call from Andy Grey, very persuasive, until he looked for my credit card details and my name and address, he said he'd guarantee selling the car this saturday, no cribbing in cash! he was apologising that it was such short notice and he needed £159.00 and if car wasn't sold within 28 days that i'd get my money back. I told him that i don't give out my credit card details to anyone over the phone and he said then he couldn't do business with me! SCAM!!!!!

- KevinI received a cal from this number in January 13 2010 at 12:20pm.
The guy over the phone - (namely Derek) had allready seen my advert for my Vauxhall Vectra on vivastreet.co.uk and said they will sell my car in 28 days and this will be absoluetly free!
Nevertheless, there would be an admin fee for £129.99 which will be reimbursed upon my car's being sold.
He gave me their website address www.easyselluk.co.uk and even though I was quite reluctant to do this, he assured me with a rather self-righteous tone of voice - (and a bad and hard to understand accent!) that I would be mad not to accept this wonderful offer.
Long story short, not only have they not sold my car as promised, they never called me back for any updates whatsoever and there is no answer to their phone number which is on their website - (0208 - 888 - 1789)
I'm definitely taking care of this matter and am not gonna let them get away with this no matter how much it's gonna cost for me!- Caller: Easysell UK

- Trevor| 1 replyI got scammed from easyselluk but I am fighting hard to get my money back. I have went to the guards and the bank (as I paid with credit card.) It seems that they get away with this because of jurisdiction problems and because they are listed as a finance company so do not have to abide by a "cooling off period." check out http://www.consumerconnect.ie/eng/Hot_Topics/ ... exceptions.html
I am so annoyed. I said I would go to England to there office to get my money. He said not to threaten him. I asked how was that a threat? I just said I was coming to the office for my money? They twist your words and then refuse to speak to you if you want your money back. It's crazy they can get away with this.- Caller: EasySellUk
- Trevor replies to TrevorThe guys name was Andy by the way. Very helpful while taking credit card details but got awkward when I asked for a refund. Oh yeah and same MO told us he had a buyer lined up. I am so annoyed at myself!!!!!!
- DazzerHey, Its been a while since this thread ended, but these guys are still on the go!! I just got a call from them and when I sounded baffled that anybody in the UK would be interested in an Irish car, the guy asked for my name, I started to object and the call got cut off....wonder what happened?
Please keep a watch out for these people, just hang up if you get a call from them.- Caller: Easy Sell UK

- Tom BethellI have also unfortunatly become a victim of the easy sell scam.I was cold called by by derek who told me that he had seen my caravan for sale on the practical caravan web site and said that his company had several people on theire books who were desperate to purchase a caravan of that discription. I must say that I was busy at the time and his conversation was convincing. He then put me through to his managing director who asked for my credit card details and said that he would take the £129.99 out of my account when I had down loaded more photographs onto there web site. When I looked at there web site and their terms an conditions I realised that they were completly diferent than discribed on the phone. I immediately emailed them and asked them to cancel but of course they refused to do so.I will not let this matter lie down I am in negotiations with my bank and Consumer Direct.I will also be in touch with the media consumer programs

- LuckyescapeWe have our caravan advertised on various sites. Today I got a call from Easysell, namely Derek. Very difficult accent to understand - anyway, he said he had spoken to my husband (not true) and that he had a buyer who would call us within an hour to view the van. I was to give him our debit card for £129.99 and he would get the person to call us. I said I would speak to my husband and call back. It was then Adam or Andy we spoke to. I asked what the money was for, he said to prove the caravan was clean and in good condition. I asked how that could prove anything. He said they were a finance company and the buyer had seen the ad on vivastreet and contacted them for finance. The buyer would come at the weekend with £200 more than we asked for.
We asked to speak to the manager. He did not give a straight answer to anything we asked. I pushed him about the refund of the money if there was no sale in 30 days - it turns out you would only get a credit NOTE from them, not a refund. What would you want with a credit note? He pushed again for the credit card number, we refused.
I then looked them up on the internet and found a lot of complaints about them. BE WARNED! They called back an hour later to ask for the card details again, I told them in no uncertain terms we would not deal with them.
Can nothing be done to stop these people, this seems to have been going on for months? They are very convincing, alarm bells started ringing for me when they lied about speaking to my husband and then wanted payment to prove the caravan was in good order.- Caller: Easysell
- Prince GwyneddYes I have been taken in by this scam They promised all the same things as above and I foolishly gave my bank details. Within 1 hours I looked at their statement on email realised that it was a misrepresentation and immediately asked for a cancellation which of course they refused to do. They did not advertise my caravan as promised and the 28 days are now up and they still refuse to pay back the cash as they led me to believe that they would. I have contacted my bank and Customer Direct who I hope are dealing with it. I WILL NOT LET IT REST

- johnboyI have also been caught by this scam promises of having buyers ready and waiting to buy my caravan he even asked if I would be available at the weekend for viewers. Its now been 3mths since paying over our money and we have heard absolutly nothing. I have emailed several times asking for my money back as they had promised if caravan was not sold within 28 days but they have not even bothered to reply. Perhaps we all need to get together and get .Rogue Traders or Watch dog to do a scam on easysell and see how they like it.
Has anyone been succesful in getting their money back or getting any action against these fraudsters.- Caller: easysell
