November 25th 2009 and now I get the same silent call.  Seems as if nobody anywhere knows what it is about. Must be costing them a lot of money!

Keep getting a call from this number. The phone will ring once and then stop. If you pick it up as soon as it rings there is nobody on the line. I had to unplug my phone at 4am this morning to stop it ringing!!!!

had 4 calls from this number today i work nights, if anyone finds out who they are and where there office is please post so i can pay them a visit with the boys and a crowbar

Had several calls from this number over the past few days. No answer when phone picked up. 1471 gives this number but if you try phoning it it is unobtainable. I am on the list supposedly blocking unsolicited calls. Hoping Ofcom will take action

posted comment earlier and then tried to take action through Ofcom. Ofcom website refers people to the Telephone Preference website, which tells you how to register, but gives no assistance if you are registered and still receive calls. Ofcom and TPS says they are not responsible for actually taking action against offenders and that is the responsibility of The Information Commissioner, their web site refers you back to Ofcom and TPS, there does not appear to be anywhere that you can actually refer an offending telephone number for any of these organisations to act upon. Usual story of Quango's costing us a fortune but unable or unwilling to perform any useful service to the general public. If anyone know of a way of taking action against these callers please post a reply

Been plagyed with these calls for months now and I am wondering who they are

i am getting really fed up with whoever is calling from this number. I've had three calls just today. One was a silent message left on my voicemail while I was at work and the other two were just silent when I answered the call.

I've registered with TPS but it takes 28 days before they'll do whatever they do.

We've had many calls from this number both on our home phone and mobiles.  There is never anyone at the far end.

This number rings every now and then and is somewhat of a nuisance.  It time it was sorted out.

wed 14th jan 2010.  been called twice today by this number. Silent phone calls not my idea of fun. Hope someone identifies them and they get their just deserves

We've had about ten calls from this number over the past week. All silent except one, which something unclear about a lifestyle survey.

same as all the others they call whenever they want all different times of the day and when you try to call the number says the no such number, how can they have got away with anoying so many people and nothing been done to fine or at the least stop this happening

If it is an international number, 213 is the country code for Algeria and 5 the code for a town called Bejaia. You can come to you own conclusion as to whether that is right.

My elderly grandfather has had an average of 3/4 calls a day from this shower of barstewards. Silent Calls, No Answering Machine Message. He's at the end of his tether and becoming increasingly distressed at the number of silent calls he is receiving.

I received 2 calls today. It appears they are still pestering people.

We have justed started getting these calls, although we are Ex-Dir and TPS, not that that counts for anything these days. If these are computer generated calls, which is more than likely judging by the number, if you answer within one or two rings, you may get a body on the other end. I would then suggest you let them introduce themselves, and then ask them to hang on for a moment. Then just put the receiver down, but do not hang up. Get on with your life for the next five or ten minutes and then return. If they are still there, just hang up, but I doubt it. What you will have done though is caused them an inconvenience as you will have tied up a caller and a phone line that they cannot disconnect, they also have to pay for the call.
If we all start doing it they will get the message.
If you really want to get nasty, say you are TPS registered, ask for the name of the company and the operators name. If they numble, ask them to speak clearly. Then ask for their duty manager, get their name and threaten to report them.
