I got a call from this number last night (May 24, 2014), but when I saw the calling number
was (02) 52525252, I didn't bother answering it, because a number like that has to be
owned by somebody who is trying to get money out of you !!
I tried to call the number this morning (Sunday), but a recording said "Your call could not be
connected".

I got a call at 6.30am  and left no message

I am also on the "do not call register" and I got the call

Got the same call, im in Melb, it's a womans prerecorded voice saying 'hello world'

Just got a call from this number but they hung up with no talk. Automated dialler, maybe?

I didn't answer - voice message just hung up. I am on the do not call register too. I just block on my mobile. It's so strange?

Got a call on my mobile and when I answered it just said "hello world" and then disconnected.
People need to know who these callers are and it needs to be reported.

Got a call Sunday afternoon - no message

Just got this call 10 minutes ago (Canberra).
"Hello world", then hung up.

Just got a call as well said hello world and hung up

This number called me on a Sunday afternoon, left no message and when I called it back, it said "this number is not connected".

Received a call from 02 5252 5252 today at 2.42pm with a recorded voice saying "Hello World" and hanging up. Also received a call from similar number 02 5252 5256 last Tuesday night with exactly the same message. Tuesday I called the number back within 3 minutes and was told number disconnected.

Same here in Brisbane QLD. Two phone calls eleven minutes apart from 02 5252 5252, a computer generated female voice that says "Hello World" then it hangs up. As I've got an iPhone, added to the Blocked Numbers list.

Caller said hello sounded American

Had a call from 02 5252 5252 when you ring it back it's not connected.

I had the same, Telstra had a comment on their facebook page from someone with the same problem (which quite a few people commented on).  They recommend to report to:  http://www.scamwatch.gov.au/con.../index.phtml/itemId/693900 which I have done, and recommend that all others that have this problem do the same
