got a call from these guys today- was a bit suspicious whe an Indian woman asked to speak to the main computer user....then went on to tell me how she know i was having problems/delays as everyone else has stated. i let her go on for a while, and asked how she would fi my problems that i supposedly have-she said her expert would log into my pc and fix it all for me.i then asked for her name (Anna Swift ) and phone number (based in Sydney she said) 02 800 35365. i then asked if she was aware that i was on the Do Not Call REgister, she apologised  and hung up.

Call from Alex Walton from Technical Maintenance at Microsoft apparently!! Indian sounding voice. I asked my husband  to check by calling the no Alex gave me I questioned him as to where he was from and how he got my home phone no.  He then gave me a customer care no. being 0796. What I can't understand is how this can be based in Sydney --can't Telstra or phone provider do something to shut down these scammers! When I told caller I wanted to check with my 27yr old Son his voice was irritated he said " he is not the owner of your computer"!!" I said your a scam--he said who said so?"My son immediately told me to turn off the computer and leave it off for at least the rest of the day. I hung up on this Alex he then phoned back --the noise in his office is recorded on my answering machine.  As we are a couple in our mid-fifties I find this very upsetting that someone can infiltrate your home and computer !!

I just received a call from the same number well thats the number i was given and a so called man by the name of "David Louis" he was from "Customer cair for WINDOWS" he had stated that each time i accsess the intranet from my computer i was receiving malicious files as well as trojans. I kinda knew it was a scam as i am computer smart so i knew that none of this had occered. so i said that my computer has been pulled apart for 3 months and i couldent see how it can send files as its not connected to the power for a start and then it hasnt been connected to the intranet for 3 months and then he was quick to say oh oh oh but you have had accsess to the intranet before you had pulled it apart thoe you were at risk then too and we keep receiving messages from you about the problems. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. he then hung up on me as i stopped talking. LMAO!!

I received a phone call from 'Phillip Morris' of Global IT Protection. He said he was calling from New York at (646) 867-3751.  He asked if I had reported a problem with my computer. (who hasn't if you deal with Rogers?).

Do these people have access to Rogers Help Desk information? He must have got my number from a Rogers database because the trouble call information was only communicated to Rogers over the phone.

Rogers... If you are listening, make a note. Are you protecting your trouble call information?

These computer scammers also gave me a call. Consult PC Experts (http://consultpcexperts.com) and Global PC Protection (http://www.globalpcprotection.com) is the same company.

I got a few calls from these people and they got beligerent and started cursing and telling me to shut up. Apparently they don't care for people who are savvy to their scheme. Anywho I decided that since they feel its ok to bug random people with the intent on scamming them out of several hundred dollars I would bug them right back. Let's just say Joe Pesci wants his money back and inlisted the help of Dateline's Chris Hansen to get the job done (thank you realmofdarkness.net) I told them they owed me $672 and he got to the point where he was telling me he'd give me $1000 if I would just stop calling. When that wasn't going to satisfy Joe or Chris these fools got nice and vulgar and proceeded to hurl sexual insults at them until they would hang up in frustration.

Lemme tell you, combined with some cocktails this was the most fun I've had in a long time.

Try it for yourself! They always answer!!! 315-633-4050 give them a taste of their own medicine!!! Hell you can even wait until they answer and blow a whistle in their ear or play uncensored rap music. Be creative and get these fools back!

Want to Scam our Systems and get our Information right from our computers we nee to find a way to   shut this down   !!! Or at least let them know we know what they are doing !! And we can do the same to them !!! I will make a Rcmp report with the internet fraud dep we should all do the same !

Thank you, whocallsme.com message board, and all your users. I won't bore you with the story (it mirrors most on here), but while this person (in heavily-accented English) was trying to get my warranty information I found this string of comments.

I've found, on several occasions, the easiest way to verify a dubious caller is to ask them where they are based and the time there. This man said New York -- the time he gave was several hours off. [Click]

An Indian man keeps calling claiming he is from PC Expert and that we bought his product of $199 CAD and that they work with Microsoft and Microsoft told them our computer is at "serious risk" and that he has to log on to make sure there are no viruses. He said if there is no virus then it will be free but if they find a virus then we will have to pay them for the software to find it and remove it...obviously they are either going to claim there is a virus of they will put one on our cmputer...we use anti-virus software for a reason!! He wont stop calling. This is a SCAM

I called these pricks back and they answered "Windows Customer Care" I then asked for "Shane". I got put on hold for a few minutes and then an Indian answered and said he was in fact "Shane". I told him that I was calling him back like he told me to. I informed him that he had been helping me with my computer and that he told me to call back if it still wasn't working. (keep in mind I never spoke with "Shane" before). He apparently remember me lol and asked if I had purchased the warranty yet. I told him I hadn't and would need help doing it.

He must've pulled his script out because he started going on about how my "Microsoft service warranty" had expired and that was why my computer was not working. He then asked me "Why didn't you pay for your warranty renewal?", I just told him I didn't know I had to do it.

He went through the entire spiel, telling me to get on my computer, check the errors and then after I told him there were lots of errors still popping up (which is completely normal by the way) he told me I needed to purchase the warranty to fix it. He directed me to a really weird website something like www.dd.ee.support.y.com, (thats not the real website, thats just how weird the address was). I kept him waiting, telling him I was sorry but that my computer was just very old.

At this point I asked him if he was aware that it was illegal fro him to claim he was working for Windows or Microsoft. He claimed he never said he was from Windows (even though they answered "Windows Customer Care"). I told him that he knows this is a scam and that there is no warranty that causes your computer to run slow. I told him that I had his entire scam on tape and planned on forwarding it to various cyber crime authorities including Microsoft. He mumbled some swear words and hung up.

I wish I had seen this web site before the mongrels caught me off guard.  First they get an asian woman who could barely speak English to lull you into a false sense of security then they put me onto their tech Indian.  He argued with me, very convincingly and claimed there was no fee and they really were from Microsoft Customare Care and because I had been experiencing a few issues with my computer and sending off error messages I followed their instructions.  I thought they were giving me instructions for a fix over the phone but instead I had given them remote access to my computer.  After their "test" they told me my software maintenance warranty was out of date and I should pay them to fix it.  I told them I couldn't pay and asked them to send the prices via email at which point he baulked and said they didn't do that but gave me the "number" to call. Luckily they didn't get my credit card details however the remote access worried.  
I eventually tracked down most of the software they had downloaded and removed it (not easy to find) but in doing so I have a constant error message that renders my computer unusable.
When he did phone back 2 days later I demanded an address, of course it was phoney, and told them I would go to the police at which point he said he would get on to their head office and call me back.  Yeah right.  
There has to be a way we can bring these ba****ds down.
Just goes to show - can't trust anyone these days.

woow, I´m in Sweden and this Indian guy calls and asks for my name or I don´t remember if he did mention my name I got confused because the cal was early in the morning and in English which I thought was weird. He said that my Windows computer was infected and if I did¨nt do anything about it it would collapse. what a [***]! First of all I don´t have a computer it broke some time ago I say that to the guy but he insists that I have. Them I tell him that he is a scam and hang up the phone. that¨s the end of it.

have fun when they call ...., This is my 4th time with them , each time I keep them busy for longer " re boot " crash ' shut down so I'll boot up etc etc etc

I had a lovely time for 30 mins , playing them along with my " windows / mac"

but told them i was running windows ( in parallel) so after I was passed to a supervisor  clearly I was a sap falling for the scam ?  as if !    who must have asked me to press windows key and R about 30 times

It was great fun if you dont have deadlines , I  kept looping around this mythical operating system (windows) till I got bored , eventually I told him I had a little logo on screen

a smiley face (and  the apple logo )  and  why would my Mac let me down like this ?

I think he finally got the message , which is  if you dont want scammers invading your computer , buy a mac , they're pretty much, bomb proof !

They gave the  address as 221 bow road london>

They call me on my land line and informed about issues with my computer  sending off error messages to Microsoft.Asked me to start the PC than directed me to the Event Viewer->Windows Log-> Application,
asked to read the number of faults.
Than they convince me to give them remote access, they use Team Viewer program to run the C: "cmd" and "tree" commands which shown warranty expired in 2011.
On the above argument  they were trying to post a application for renewal .
I refused to provide credit cart details.
I started asking about the address or phone .David Smith-manager   provided following phone (02)80051246.
This morning I call this phone ,Indian girl answered the phone, I asked for address,she provided kindly,
316 Ramsay street, Five Dock ,Sydney
Guess what !
I checked this address on Google earth and its a park no such a number on this street.
I addition they spoke very fast and without any manners.
