This Indian gentleman called me to tell me that my computer is infected, then he passed me on to a technician who controlled my computer, then a indian woman got on and proceeded to tell me that my computer will crash if I don't buy a warranty because my own warranty is up. I refused to buy and she told me that my computer has crashed.  she tells me that she will call me back in 1/2 hour to see what I want to do and left me with a notice on my computer that it is attempting to repair. I attempted to cancel that and my the message states you cannot turn this off. I have manually shut it down.

And they're still at it.  There's got to be a way to stop these idiots...  Said their website was www.onlinepcxperts.com - yes "xperts" and not "experts".

I received a call from a company by the name of Online PC Experts based in Australia.  They said they are a Microsoft company. A man with a heavy Indian accent said that our PC was infected and was about to blow up.  Can you imagine that?  He wanted me to stay on the line as he was going to help me save my computer.  Obviously, I did not believe him and hung up.  Please be aware of such scams!!!

Have they installed any licensed software on your system? If they have, then bad luck! They just E-Delivered the product to you and installed it on your computer. That's that.

The problem is that you opted in for the first service on the day you paid. That meant that you've missed on the cooling off period. (I confirmed it with trading standards)

I paid £916 to them and they sent me a laptop, a wireless mouse and an internet dongle.

At the same time, they also sent me an onsite engineer to fix up my PC's hardware issues. It's working fine again. They are also providing me with System Mechanic Pro 2012 on my old system and the new laptop with 5 years cover on each.

The problem is that Ask Remote Experts themselves don't know the efficiency of the software which they are providing. This software is an amazing tool! I recovered all my deleted files through the file recovery tool and I'm as happy bunny.

Not so sure if this is a scam but yes, they were a bit pushy but I suppose it's their job..LOL!!!

I would rather vouch for their services rather than going for scam artists who call me every now and then.

Ask Remote Xperts is a legitimate company which is registered under data protection act. I don't know whether some people are misusing its name or not, like of Microsoft. But that doesn't mean company is fraud. I can say that bcoz I m one of the Microsoft certified engineer working in the technical department there. And I have spoken with many people who were afraid when they saw their computer remotely operated. its the advance technology which we technicians use to resolve issues. what's so frightening about it. Beware of scams bt don't paint everyone with the same brush.

People who 'phone and say there is something wrong with your computer and they can fix it remotely are scammers.  That is the simple answer.  No one who 'phones knows anything about your computer.  They rely on scare tactics and lack of computer knowledge.  They can and often do install spyware/malware to steal personal information and will charge money for software which can be installed for free.  They have nothing to do with Microsoft and are not authorised  by Microsoft to contact people, nor do they receive messages about our computers from Microsoft.  Giving remote access to someone who cold calls is like handing your wallet to a stranger in the street.

To be fair, I must say that ARX Support, UK get paid for what is due. I can say that because I got a legit anti-virus, a system optimization software, a data recovery software and a PC tune up software which definitely were not available for free on the internet! Every time a software got activated, I received an email from the software manufacturer that the serial key has been registered in my name.

At no point during my conversation with them did they mention that they were from Microsoft. They are actually very touchy about this and to my amazement, they made sure that I'm mindful about this fact no less than 4-5 times!!!

Every time I get stuck with my computer, I call the help desk and they move very swiftly to resolve my issues. They are available on a 24 X 7 basis.

I had an horrendous experience with PC Wizards as they not only gave me free/cracked softwares like Malwarebytes, CCCleaner, ATF Cleaner amongst others, but they also corrupted my Windows. These softwares are available for free on the internet. Now that is what you call a scam.

Just to share more info, I have 3 PC's at home and another 3 at work. Ask Remote Xperts has looked after them really well. Any fears of scam or con acts should be allayed as they are anything but.

After getting scammed on June 12 for £99-00 to stop my computer from crashing I called was to be told my £99 would be returned to my account first they had to have my VISA card no. as it had to be put back into the same account needless to say after holding on for 10 minutes I find this [***] has taken £479 from my VISA account try as I might to get his name and phone no or contact address were in vain; what can I do to get these scammers arrested I would be most grateful

I know for a fact... that this company is a scam. They gain access to your computer, and delete your files off there. Then bill you for it. They delete the files and leave you WITHOUT internet security so that you ask them to go back on and fix the problem. They prey mainly on the elderly as they will allow them to do anything on their PC and 9 times out of ten not argue or ask for the money back that is taken.
They tell you that they are a part of Microsoft... THEY ARE NOT!!!!!
They will tell you that if you put your name into Google that your name is linked to a porn site.. also a load of rubbish. They are professional scam artists and whoever allows them to access their computers remotely and gives them their credit card details over the phone are really silly.. If you get a call off these people.... HANG UP and if they keep calling report them and have there numbers blocked from your phone.
They scam lots of people out of hundreds of pounds at a time and once they have your card details they keep taking your money without asking time and time again... You will be lucky to get your money back even if you call up and tell them that the money was taken fraudulently.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY and the many other company names they are known as!!!!!
