I constantly get missed calls from Citibank on this number. When I call back, they ask me "Hi, how can I help you" Um ... you guy's called me??
Very annoying. Seems they just want to update my details which I did a month ago anyway.
    Very poor system.

I received a 15 second voicemail with no sound from this number!!!

They must have hit the MUTE button when they reached voicemail. It must be telemarketing.

It is NOT Citibank calling!!  These people are trying to steal your information.  They say they are from Citibank, but Citibank no nothing of their activities.  Called me twice today, but now their system is breaking down - the recorded voice message failed.

Received a call from 02 8073 3390 on my mobile number, confirmed my full name, they advised they wanted to give me an update on my account details and make sure it was all correct on their system (claiming they are from Citibank). They then prompted me for my date of birth....
I then advised them my online details are correct so I don't understand why i need to update you over the phone. They then said that's fine, thank you and hung up the phone. I find this very suspious. I would never give any details over the phone or pin's or date of birth to someone who rang me. I would only feel comfortable giving out account details to someone I have rung up.
This tackic is the same as clicking on an email link advising to update your customer details, you just don't do it. You go directly to the site and don't click on any links.

    Mystery
Just give them the wrong date of birth
If they confirm it is ok
    Then they are busted

Just had a call from this number.
Aside from the stupid system of "Please hold" when they call you, it actually is Citibank.

I did a balance transfer away from them yesterday to HSBC and Citibank called up offering a lower interest rate and a 12 month interest free period to transfer the debt back to them.
    Needless to say, I declined.

Its not Citibank - its bogus. They are calling from overseas but must have a redirection through an Aussie number. I gave all false "verification" information false DOB and false "mothers maiden name" and they verified as correct, so went along with them for a bit, told them to ....... and hung up.
    • Caller: So called Citibank.

    I annoy Citibank back
It's Citibank alright. If my bill is late they will call me from a private number upto 8times a day, just on my mobile. When i dont answer  they will call my work direct line and my hone phone. when all else fails they have located my generic work number and tried that way. This will start the very next day with these calls. When I do answer there is a 5sec of silence whilst the call is connected, most times I have no patience to wait, but if I do they ask for more money than what is owed.. With no reason why. Because of their harassing style of contact I will make a point to ignore them. This is when the 8073 number starts to call...
The thing is I have made all payments no later than 2weeks late and many months before the due date. I have a mortgage, utilities, other credit cards, a home phone and mobile and not one of them harass me for money. Citibanks tactic only aggravates and is an intimidating and threatening manner. My mortgage can be late and they offer to help me!!! I will be transferring my funds to another bank Solely because of their approach.
Oh and if you have made yr payment, the staff member who is rostered to harass does not always check to see if u have actually paid and I have had upto another 2 weeks, 6 days a week including Saturdays, of constant calling. Honestly I could tell em I've paid but then what wld their staff be paid to do? Clearly they need the extra experience cause they never seem to know that I have actually paid and maybe after being ignored they should be able to work out that that is exactly what is happening. Plus I have told reception to take messages and my mobile has a silence key 😆

    Suspicious
Took a call from this number. Brief pause and then connected to a female with what sounded like a Filipino accent.  She said she was from Citibank calling with a special promotion.  I said go ahead, to see what she would say.  She went on that the call was being recorded for training purposes and then in order to confirm my account details could I please confirm my date of birth.  I said I wasn't telling her that, since I had no way of confirming she was a genuine caller from Citibank.  I said that if I was a Citibank customer, then she already had my telephone number to call me in the first place, so why did she need more information.  And if I was a Citibank customer, and I was so special, then Citibank could afford to send me a letter with the details of the promotion which would waste less of my time than the phone call. If I liked what it was about, then I could do something about it.  Otherwise, 'go away'.   She simply answered 'that's OK, thanks for your time' and hung up. If it was a genuine Citibank call, they should not be doing business this way.

Called me at least 10 times in the last week.  If I answer no one is there.  Finally I waited and then gave them both barrels.  Told them if they have a reason to call, then be there otherwise I don't want to know who or what they are (selling).  Lets'see what happens over the coming week.

Keep getting calls from this number but I don't pick up and they don't leave a message. IF it is Citibank they can contact me via mail on an official letter with there letter head on it...there is no way I'm giving them any information over the phone...they should know better.

Caller says they're from citibank wanting to discuss my account and in order to do so they need me to answer my citibank security questions.  They're the ones who called me, so why would they need me to answer security questions?  I refused to answer questions, and asked what the call was about.  They refused to tell me.  So I hung up and rang the real Citibank number to see it was a legitimate call.  They checked my files and said they have no record of contacting me for anything and if they were to do so it would be via the post on official letterhead.
    • Caller: citibank (or so they say)

    Ditto.

Said they were ringing from Citibank with a special offer. Sounded as if they used some autotune or filtering of the voice so it was almost computerised.

This one asked for my "month of birth" which I supplied, then the first initial of my mother's maiden name.

I said NO - I don't want your offer if you can't tell me without getting my details, and hung up on them.

To the person that said they are from citibank if the person being called does not have an account with the bank then its a scam. Pure and simple. And since the scam number is the same as your claimed to be "legit" number then I would say u are a scammer too. No bank calls asking for details cause they already have them
