- LauraI've been contacted daily from this (02) 8915 4600 number also! So glad it isn't just me! I was wondering who the hell it is! These calls cant be legal! Its harassment! >:(
- JadeI just rec'd my first call from 3800 number so i googled it and found this discussion.
There is a software that can be downloaded onto your mobile - blacklist or another one is blackballer - google them. When turned on it will block numbers either not in your phone or numbers which you select etc. It simply hangs up on the caller without bothering you at all.- Caller: ?
- MarcI was receiving ENDLESS calls from both numbers, so I called ITC as suggested, and asked to have my number removed from ALL call lists. they were very nice about it and the calls did stop.

"I signed up for a credit card with westpac, and was getting 1 call a day. I googled the number and it came here and someone said to ring ICT and asked to be removed, i did that they said 24-48 hours b4 taking effect. was still getting the calls so i phoned westpac to lodge a complaint about who they are using for marketing (they were very helpfull and said they would take me off all marketing systems which would take effect in 24 hours, and that they would put a report into coperate to check up on what was happening) still got the calls so rang back ICT, this time i told them specifically that the calls were happing every day, and that when you answer it was a dead line. once again they were very helpful and said they would stop it and ti would be done overnight and would also report the problem. thankfully that worked and i am not getting anymore calls. Although it took a while to actually stop it, it is worth calling the company you think gave the details, because as i found out from westpac they didnt know it was happening every day. Also it is worth telling ICT that its a dead line to, because im sure its a problem with there system, and if more people are having the same problem they migth get the hint that they need to revamp there system.
Although it is really oldfashioned now days, not going off your face at the people you ring up does help alot, its not the people that answer your calls fault that thier company is has got some problems so getting angry at them isnt going to help things."- Caller: ICT
- shanevery annoyed by these 2 numbers. I have answered and abused them twice. I am on the list that is suppose to stop unsolicited calls but they still ring me every day. I am going to ask my friend at optus about blocking those numbers. I will probably also cancel my inactive commonwealth account as per the information you guys have given.
- BenCome on people this is beyond a joke, dozens of missed calls a day, noone there if people pick up, unsolicited calls, this is illegal and miss use of a phone.
Ring the ICT group directly, have a go at the person that answers(dont swear) but be very intense and to the point, they harress us we can do the same... what are they going to call the police????
Better still call them direct and make a threat against them either a legal threat or one of violence! It may not be the person answering the phones fault were getting these calls BUT they do work for them and are meant to do there job of answering our calls, and that would include feedback from such calls to Directors/Supervisors, so no there not really doing a job for us they work for ICT, the more angry calls they get the sooner they quit.
If we all make violent and/or legal threats against them WE WILL WIN this pathetic call centers existence. Dont be scarred to get violent or threaten to kill or blow them up, they have driven us insane to this point? Well i have, and if they say they will call the police, tell them go for it, because with all those threats it will take the Medias attention once the police are called, none of us will be charged as THEY are the instigators, we are defending our rights to privacy, non-harassing behavior and to proper use of a telephone.
Id like to see them try to sue/charge us all when it is they that break the law. BOTTOM LINE.- Caller: ICT/WESTPAC/COMMINNSURE
- BenAlso forgot to add that im not a customer of any of theses company's, nor do i have a Bank account. So how they got my number legitimately and legally I will not know for now.
- The person who calls youHIiiiiiiiii guyss!! Its acutally me who calls you!! We are a call centre who has been contracted to call you guys. We are a call centre who have been solicited by insurance firms to discuss information that has been sent in the mail. We are not out to annoy you, upset you, or harrass you. We just want to do our jobs and deliver the information that we havvge been asked to. This is our job. We get paid, by the insurance firms to discuss important information with you. We are also able to provide numbers for you to call to have your mobiles/work number etc removed from our lists, however most of the time you hang up before we get a chance to exaplain. Please treat us with respect as we are only doing our jobs. Its tough when you get people who abuse, swear and are just rude to you. Imagin if you were trying to do your job and some rude person on the other end of the line just wont listen. We call from an automated dialling system in which your numbers are put into. We cannot see your phone numbers and we certainly do not mean to call you 3 and 4 times a day. The person who answers the phone suggests a callback time, we put this into our computer systems and the computer automatically dials your number at the time suggested. If you are not home, the person who answers suggests another call back time and we do so accordingly. when you recieve these phone calls, if you do not wish to be contacted please advise the person who you are speaking with, or ask for the number to call, to have your details removed. There is no need to swear, hang up or be rude as this is what we have been assigned to do.

The person who calls you. - Carl| 1 replyOk, black and white here is what to do! I got a heap of calls from 02 8915 4600. I put myself on the governments do not call list, but apparently it takes up to a month to take effect... I found then that my phone has a 'reject list' so I added this number to it. The next night at 615pm I got a call from (02)8198 3800, so obviously the reject has worked because this is the first time this number has called me, it is clearly their secondary number. So bang, I added it to the reject list as well. Problem solved! So get those mobile phone manuals out and find out if it has a reject list option, otherwise google the governments DO NOT CALL list, but you will still have to hack these calls for a month. Also, some phones have a Divert option, this can be used instead of reject if your phone doesn't have it. Divert them to a monkey sound or something.. Cheers to all you innocent people!

Optus told me: For Optus to investigate unwelcome calls we require the specific times and dates of 3 or more unwelcome calls. Calls must be over a 2-5 day period within the past 4 weeks. Optus will then trace the origin of the calls and if a pattern is found a warning letter will be sent to the owner of that service.

- NilI hate to tell you this. But its actually not any insurance company its a scam. They do this so you call back, but when you do call back you are charged at a high rate like a 1900 number. Its got nothing to do with any banks. Its a scam. They buy your details (phone number and name as they have left weird messages on my phone saying my name and hello - a call centre wouldn't do this... this is another trick to get you to call back.)
DO NOT call them or answer the calls. Contact the Police and they will organise to have the numbers blocked from your phone. Its the only way. - fredThey are persistent. They don't leave a message. I'll probably never answer or be able to call them back.
