They callme all the time, i returned the call & got a message... "thank u 4 your call, u hjave just been contacted ny optus about some of our exclusive deals, we will call u back soon????

I have been receiving annoying calls from this number all the time.

And what does it achieve.  There is no one on the other end, just silence.

How annoying!

Surely there must be something that can be done about this, in addition to begging them not to call anymore.

Btw, the company is SYKES Global Business Development Group and guess what... they don't have a phone number on their website!

I've been ignoring these calls, but it is extremely annoying esp. as I've been on the "do not call register" for years. I'm not even a Commonwealth customer. Apparently mobile phones should be put on the register, as  soliciting calls made to you,  will be charged to your phone.

This number called me today, I stupidly answered it, no one said anything then hung up. I think I've had this one before; also watch out for 02 8019 9700- same thing but they are even more persistant. Don't answer their calls!!!

I cannot believe there are people out there who are getting paid?? just to call up then hang up- what a pathetic existence. LOSER award of the year to these idiots!

I have no idea what is with this people. You answer the call, and there is silence at the other end.

Last call from 0281983800 sounded like two female telephone operators talking about their dating problems.

They just hang up when I do answer there is no one there so I hang up.

My number is also on the registery and is a private number.

well, lucky you have better things to do, like diss the people on the internet who are dissing people who bother them, which is totally up to them if they choose to be bothered by it or not. I dont think the insurance people care, as they are in a callcentre and get it all the time, and wont take it personally. you get a live

I keep receiving calls from this number and they leave text messages for me to call them back as well. If it is the CBA marketing I am not happy at all. My phone number is on a do not call list.  I've got to the point I do not answer blocked calls or numbers I don't recognise.

I keep receiving phone calls from 02 81983800 which is apparently the CBA Bank.  I am not a customer and my phone number is on a DO NOT CALL list.

He/She called twice: on 12-08-2010 and 31-03-2011

we called back and its [***] optus telling us of some stinking deal...

I don't know what this number wants to me? Call me 3 times just beeping!! Next time I have to report to Police. No other option.

After weeks of ignoring my daily 02 8198 3800 call - I picked up. It was a call centre acting on behalf of Westpac Bank. Have asked to be removed from the list.

I too keep getting calls from this company. Because its a business mobile, you can't be put on a 'do not call register'. I just put the number under contact as "Call centre pest". When they call I just keep barring them.

Just got a missed call on my mobile from 0281983800 and when you ring it back you get an automated message saying: "You've just been contacted by Optus about some exclusive deals and we will call back soon".  When they call back I will ask they take me off their contact list.  Hope this works.

I've been getting regular calls from  this number and would like to block it but not sure how I can do that. A real nuisance!

I'm also constantly pestered by this number, a google searches of ICT reroutes that website to SYKES!  Pests!!!
