Just had the same call as others from a strong accented african guy claiming to be from British Gas saying that after a recent service it was noted that our boiler was over 10 years old. After I told him this was crap as the boiler is only 2 years old , he still tried to tell me offers on new ones. Told him to get stuffed

Had a call from an Irish fellow, telling me my boiler was over ten years old on the same number. British Gas didn't seem to know anything about it when i phoned them, but i am outraged, outraged!

I had a missed call from this number today at 10:57, I certainly wont be ringing back or giving any information if I get another call from them.

I keep getting calls from this number as well.  What concerns me, looking thro these other posts, is that these calls ARE coming from BT.  So what's going on? I don't need calls to renew my bt business account, it's automatic. Definitely a con somewhere, maybe by bent staff just to get your card details?

They keep calling, now getting to be a pest

Received a call from 08009 806166, When I call barred it came back with this number 02890 381743. It was British gas services again.

Just had a call from this number. It was silent for 10 seconds and then an Asian woman came on the line. She said that she was from the National Research Centre. She was unable to say which country this was the National Research Research Centre of and would not give me her address. She then hung up.

We have had repeated calls at all times of the day, some silent.  Twice my son spoke to an Asian man who asked for my husband by name (how did he get our name and number?)  He then asked for our postcode.  My son hung up and said don't call again.  They rang again and got me - asked 'Can I speak to Mrs. ........? which was our correct name.  The Asian man then said that he was calling from the National Research Centre.  I said - how did you get my number, at which point he hung up.

The caller's number was not registered on our telephone - but I am assuming it is the above number as the name of the 'company' is the same.  I assume this is a scam to obtain personal details.

Have since registered with the Telephone Preference Service and hope it stops further unsolicited calls.

I am currently on holiday and for some reason this week I have been getting calls on my mobile from this number. The phone rings and when I pick it up no-one is there, but I have since realised that if I leave it, the phone only rings twice and then stops.
The time difference means that I am getting these calls at ridiculous times of night and I need to keep my mobile on, so it is constantly waking me up.
I am not a BT customer and have not been for many many years and have no idea how they have got hold of my mobile number and why they are ringing me.
Does anyone know who I can report this to, to make it stop as I have another week and a half on holiday and if they keep ringing me I am going to blow a gasket!!

Actually, sorry I put it was BT but as no-one speaks I was just assuming it was since reading on here, but now it is saying on here, it is British Gas.

Hi, these calls are being made by a company called foxy communications and are based in nottingham. its run by two parasites steven eyre and sarah barlow that have many minions.this info is available if you type it into google.they even have a phone number. they seem polite on the surface but are pure evil inside. targetting everyone and anyone especially the old and vulnerable with silly questions just to make money. this parasitic company obtains your details from god knows which database and lies about where they got your information from. the information has been sold to them. its no use setting up tps.u must complain to ofcome. lets unite against these parasites and call of com.

i am already registered with tps and keep getting calls from National research centre who also hang up when i kick off or ask questions. sick of this and thought this would stop with being registered, also mostly Asian, they should be shot for harrasing people of all ages,

British Gas has a contact centre in Africa. So a call from an african guy is not strange if you know they have operations in Africa plus you will give them something for having better accents than other countries...

Had a call this morning from an Asian male claiming to be from the National Research Centre, when challenged as to just who they are he claimed that he was not selling anything and was carrying out a Lifestyle survey, when again challenged and asked which Government Department had charge of the survey ha hung up.
The call was from  02068884362 when tried this number gave Not been Recognized error message.

This makes them evil inside?

Can you tell me why exactly foxy communications are as you put it 'pure evil inside'? What experience do you have of foxy communications? Have you done research on them or have you a closer connection?
