- walter white| 5 repliesThere is no law that exists regarding tv licence. There is an Act, this is not law. If a tv licence/goon turns up at your house do not tell him who you are, if you do then this is taken as a verbale contract. Remember you have entered no contract with the bbc or Capita. How much does Jonathan Ross get paid ?? And how much did it cost to cover up their Peado ring ??? Wake up peeps , good luck against the bullies.
- Caller: Capita
- Call type: Prank
- Nan replies to walter white| 3 repliesIf you do not have a TV licence you are taken to court and fined. They do not fine you for breaking an Act they fine you for breaking the Law. When you buy a TV the seller is required BY LAW to inform the Licencing Authority of your name and address. Sorry to rain on your parade, but the advice you have given is bad and can lead to a higher fine than if you just admit you have no licence. However, if you do have a licence. then tell the Licencing Authority to get on with it and you will see them in court.
- mrsmo86 replies to Nan| 2 repliesthat is not strictly true. i am currently challenging it and stopped paying in may this year. i sent a letter to Sir Michael Lyons of the BBC informing him he had 14 days to reply.......he did not so i sent another letter stating i will not pay any more as i did not receive a satisfactory response. I then had one of the goons at the door, presented the letters to him, took note of his ID badge, answered all questions with no comment and he left without me signing or setting up any payment details (which they get £20 commision for each person that signs and gives them details). a few weeks later i received a letter from them thanking me for setting up a payment plan lol. They can only take you to court and fine you if you sign.
- Nan replies to mrsmo86| 1 replyDid you put your name and address on the letter to Sir Michael? If you did not he cannot reply and if you did, they have your name and address. If the TV Detector van finds that a TV is operating at your address and their records show that you have not got a licence. that is all they need. You do not have to sign anything.
- mrsmo86 replies to Nanthey had my name and address as i was paying up until may this year but yes i did put it on the letter as well. they did come to the door and i invited them in and let them see the TV was on and working. he said they had to find the letters. then i got the letter thanking me for setting up a DD that i did not so it doesnt look like im getting fined or took to court as they have me on their system as having a licence.
- NathanThis isn't the TV Licensing people. It is scammers, asking for Direct Debit details. I had them call me on an 01732 number last week too! This has been confirmed to me by TV Licensing who I also reported this too.

- DraggyTV Licence will never ask u for any details especially bank details over the phone. I have been getting these calls for the past week 2 or 3 times a day i just ignore them. I dont even know how they got my number coz i have not given it to them so i am guessing it is some scam to try and get your details.

- ColetteIt's the goons from Capita.
Had a silent call from them this afternoon. Capita is a parasite that can wait.
Do you know that the BBC has to go through Capita whenever anything has to be ordered?
Do you know that Capita charges the BBC £20 every time?
If a BBC engineer needs a cable worth £ 1.20, he has to place the order via Capita and the cost becomes £ 21.20.
Are Capita desperate for my £ 145? No I need the money more than they do.- Caller: Capita TV License parasites
- AngryThis is NOT TV licensing. This is a scam! They asked for my bank details, tv licence don't do this they request you do it online normally. Keep ringing me every day 4-5 times a day, half the time the phone goes dead or they demand my bank account details.

- Colin replies to LauraYes it is TV licencing. I just spoke to them. Wanted to know if I was still at the property as payments hadn't been made.
Passed on new tenants details. They can ring him now. - MAMThis number rang 3 times in 2 days. Answering machine clicked in (I screen my calls) and they rang off. If it is TV licensing not sure why they are calling me because I pay by direct debit and it went out in August
