0301

Just had a caller from 0301
very poor line and hard to understand
they said they were from a charity
but line went dead.
They seem to know all my details which
is worrying.

Got 3 calls so far today from 0301, I say hello, then after a few seconds they hang up. ANNOYING & RUDE.

Four calls from 0301 today. Virgin deny all knowledge but say that my account hasn't been compromised

Got a call from 0301 just now.

Guy spoke not clear english, but I understood he was calling from some company like "Fox Global Trading" in Tokyo. He was trying to explain me some investments related with Apple......

I'm too polite guy, I told him 10 time that I'm not interested, but finally hang up as he keeps talking and trying to convince me.

Oh, by the way, this was in Singapore

I have had a number of calls with this "identity".  
A (distant) 'ladies voice' kept saying "hello" (was she on the Moon or somewhere?).

A BT operator said that it is a "telemarketing" operation, but further enquiries got a stuffy "it's International Agreements" and a denial that it is possible to stop the calls. He declined to say why.

Indian guy called from 0301 and asked if we had gas and electrics. I started of thinking he was from some gas company. He knew our postcode and said can I confirm that this is your postcode? He kept saying ....man after each sentence. That made me suspicious and irritated and when I said I'm not a man he hung up.
First time I had a number. Usually get calls like these from withheld numbers.

Had 3 calls over the last 2 days from 0301 - all looking to confirm that I receive my Sky TV through a dish !! I informed him that I subscribed to the telephone preference service and that I do not purchase goods or services nor give out personal information over the phone. I do not receive any sky services.

I recently change my phone service provider from BT to TalkTalk - is there a common dnominator that people receiving calls from 0301 have recently changed from BT to Virgin etc ??

I don't know where is the number from. So, please settle it. I want to know. Thank you so much

I've had a couple of calls a day from this number each time asking if I receive Sky through a satellite dish. Each of the callers have heavy Indian accents and it sounds very much like a call centre. I am with BT and have been forever, so there's no connection with people who've changed providers.

Received last night, I just put phone down, then received again today asking me to confirm my name...I said 'who's calling', he said 'ma'am, I just need you to confirm you receive Sky 1 and 2 through satellite dish' - could it be Sky? - I just said 'no thanks, bye'!

I'm in Singapore and I've received this call a couple of times now, usually in the wee hours of the morning. Never picked it up and don't intend to. SO ANNOYING. What kind of number is 0301 anyway?!

I have been getting lots of calls from the 0301 number and on "out of area" or "private" numbers, the last call a few minutes ago asked "if i got satalite tv through a dish or not"? well how stupid is that?

its really annoying and i intend to mess them about as much as possible. dont give them any personal information! the 0301 is the disply number, you can display a number different to that you are calling on, this is likely to be a SIP based number, if anyone knows anymore please let me know.

have been looking into this 0301, and it would seem that the caller from 0301 is getting data on you such as if you have debts, sky or pretty much anything, they can ask really random stuff, so best not to give them anything, they are then selling this data to various companies and maybe even criminal gangs. so please beware and dont give them anything at all!

if they have nothing to sell then they will have to stop!!

i keep getting this number phoning me.. same stupid questions, i let them rabbit on for a minute os so then i scream "[***] my chip pans on fire" and hang up

I get similar calls every day too. Just checked the last caller's number and it was also 0301. Grrrr.

Two nights running between 7 and 8 pm, just as my 5 month old soon is dropping off to sleep!!!

This seems to fit the pattern about a week ago indian chap rang my house, international showed on the display, and as we still have friends living abroad i answered it.. Then came the am i speaking to the bill payer ( stupidly i said yes, then the spiel started.) i just hung up on him yesterday phone rang picked it up no caller display, they hung up straight away, two hours later 0301 number, thought strange! picked it up phone went dead not ringing it back or 1471, too many coincidents that lots of ex virgin and virgin customers getting these calls don't you think, was with virgin media for 5 weeks whilst they completely messed up or broadband, phone and tv all in one go......

I just received a call from an 0301 number for the first time.  When I picked up the handset a recorded voice just said 'Leave a message after the tone".   I guess if I did that it would cost me dearly....in some way.

Does anyone know who or what is behind these calls?  Is it safe to leave a message or best to replace the handset as I did?

I got a call from 0301 at about 6.10pm 13th May 2010.

The number looked so odd that I didn't pick up, and let the answer-phone roll - but who or what it was rang off when the answer-phone came on.

I can't imagine there is such a number as 0301 - I would guess that who or what it is has hacked into the phone network, or has got into the 'ghost' numbers used by the secret police and so on.
