0301

just had two calls from this number about 20 mins apart, same thing, just hangs up, similar to a call centre. could it be idiots typing random numbers into this thing?

I've just had a call too from this ridiculous number! Hung up on me.
I'm on another thread on here (SatLite) and have noticed an increase in these calls over the last few weeks. I'll read back over this thread -( haven't had time to do it yet) as I've noticed someone mentioned reversed call charges.

I am so sick and tired of data being passed around dubious third parties! Why does the onus have to be on us to tick or untick hidden boxes in whatever service we're signing up for? Why on earth can't it be illegal to pass data on unless we specifically give permission (I know, none of us would that's why!!).
This will be more ammunition in the fight we have against SatLite/Sampora, quite a few of us have MP's and Trading Standards offices involved. It's a long fight but we're hoping for legislative change ultimately. I'll pass a warning on about this mob!

These sites are great when you are trying to figure the plonkers who have an impossible telephone number of 0301. !!!!!!!!!!

Twice they called today and twice I picked up and cleared down.

Had a few calls from this number, but they just hang up, we have not had anyone speak yet. Hopefully never will, but it is annoying!

My telephone rang today at 5.30 pm and the line was dead. I rang 1471 and discovered the no. was 0301 and discovered this site.

we had 9 silent phone calls from this number yesterday!!! and that was just up until 8:30pm when I un-plugged the phone line! They never spoke and a couple of times I let the call hang and it was 2 minutes before they hung up, what the hell are they doing??! I'm in Liverpool, UK. I dialled 1471 and the number is 0301. Total loosers

I had a phone call from 0301 saying there were errors on my computer and to turn my computer on.  Fortunately my son was here and asked various questions like who signed up for a contract with you? Which comnpany are you? What kind of computer do you think we have? At this point she cut off the line.  Had my son not been here I might have been caught although I would have asked more questions about the errors she thought I had.

Just had this myself (good site this). Also I have been getting a LOT of 08445 & 0800 etc - straight to answerphone (ok if not automated selling speech).  I also do seem to get many renewed attempts after buying something online (more particularily verified by V**ahem; paranoid??).
We can take it for granted 0301 is up to no good & not worth the bother...or is it?
Just like Crabbit oap I tend to look on the bright side if poss.even with idiot telesellers using old info or stupidly repeatedly trying.
This is an oportunity for much fun, 0301 ...answer call "debt consolidated how may I direct your call...is this a joke?! "etc etc or play a soundboard to freak them out if you're really ambitious. Keep them backpeddaling.
Best I find with genuine sales, if house orientated (is this the houseowner etc) is to tell them it is council property (no landlord to ask for), garden orientated - a flat. Retired, disabled, on vacation from another country...you get the picture. They sign off immediately (onto the next).

It is the automated cold calls I do not like. For that Trucall sounds interesting and for the repeated foreign calls that think harrassment is the key. Pah! & service providers have never been too helpfull in getting numbers blocked (a sorely neglected area, easy to sort).

As has been said...NEVER give out any personal or Financial details & if you do get tempted, you don't have to tell them the Real details! - easy to explain if genuine (IF...hmmm).
Cut the call & above all...DON'T let the idiots stress you out :)

Phone put down - 0301 obtained from 1471

0301 is area code for Karachi, Pakistan so could be any marketers. This is an improvemet that you now find out a little about the number calling you with 1471.

I had just had one collecting data for nPower. The answer is to boycott companies that do not  use UK based call centres.

Just had 0301 call at 16:18, 4/11/11.  Phone dead when answered!  Live in Somerset.  Are we being charged?

I have had a few calls from 0301 and when I answer they leave it a few sec then say hello then hang up I am with BT, also I get calls from India asking for Mrs Reekie they wanting details to get into your internet they use that your computer has a virus blah blah when you start asking questions they hung up it comes up with international caller on the number display, I have really had enough now

I have a funny feeling they will charge if you call back so don't do it, they just evil disgusting people trying to steal,

2 calls so far today, annoying but am now armed with a very loud and ear damaging kids whistle so ready for next time. If that dosnt put them off nothing will!:-/

Only way to treat them is being really rude, with a bit of swearing thrown in. If they dont like it dont call back. Shame really as most of the Indians are really nice people
