Report a phone call from 0301 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Bobs your uncleSome Indian dude from mumbai phoned me up called Shah asked if i wanted to take part in a program or something could'nt understand much of him as i'm from the U.K,he confirmed my house number and land line number but when i asked him who he wanted to speak to,Mr Mumbai kept on saying you,i want to speak to you, lol,,,,Just don't give them any personal info they'll soon shut the f**ck up
- Caller: Mumbai
- magsJust had a call from 0301, hung up soon as we answered grrrr, getting mighty fed up of these companies as we are expecting urgent calls from family and our caller id is not working!!!!!!! Please someone cut off their phone lines!!!!!!!!!
- Caller: no idea they hung up!!
- SmellybutbrownfaceIm trying various methods to get rid of these [***] !!!
The latest is to do the following :
Whoever they ask for, ask the person ( usually indian ) Wether he would like there new set of details for there new house. (Pester them till they say yes)
Once he has a pen and paper, give them the address and number without saying the actual name, of your local police station, or the london met office.
Worked for me, havent had any calls since.
Police station seems to be the way forward.
By the way 0301 = Pakistan code, sourced back to pakistani banks.
If all else fails, change your number, until..........I like to ask him how his day has been : ) You can have fun with them, especially when you turn around and say, " HMM WELL MR INDIAN PERSON, WOULD YOU LIKE TO CONSOLIDATE YOUR DEBTS INTO AN AFFORDABLE MONTHLY LOAN !!!!? "- Caller: Its a bank
- LINDAHow the hell do you stop these people calling the first one i was polite now i am so rude to them and they still keep calling i have asked who they are and they just keep talking i just hangup everytime i want to screammmmmmmmmmmm
- Caller: very annoying .com
- PaulI keep getting them too, they seem to hold a lot of info about people, this could have come from a stolen database 2 years ago from 'loans.co.uk' that ended up in India.
ITS ABOUT TIME THE SERVICE PROVIDERS FOUND A WAY TO FILTER OUT THESE SCAMMERS, EVEN IF WE HAD TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE...
Complain to BT nuisance call line.
There is a service called 'chose to refuse' and 'anonymous call barring' that might help cut out some of these swines! - Billie Jean"Never had this problem befor i got the internet"
- bluebellsi've been getting calls from 0301 for last 8 months asking for my deceased husband, who passed away last year, i keep telling those indian guys that he has passed away but they still keep calling back for him, yesterday this guy crossed all lines, after i told him my husband has passed away he said "but whyyyyyyy", i was like sorry and again he goes "but whyyyyyyyyyyyy", and i was like but why what? he says "but why did he die", when he said that i fumed, i swore down the phone like i hv never b4 then i hung up, something needs to be done about this
- Caller: government debt iva
- tracyi have been getting calls from this number can be up to 5 or 6 times a day i am with plusnet and its getting awful the speaker on the phone is so hard to understand so i end up putting the phone down on them grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr dont u just hate this kind of people who ring all the time
- Christhis is a email i sent to tps and the reply i got from them.
I recently registered with yourselves because of calls i am getting from a number that simply comes up as 0301, when they rang me today i the guy tried to tell me that he worked for the government, i told him that i had registered with the tps and that i didnt want him calling me. He told me that it doesnt matter if i am registered with the tps because he is special and works for the government, i didnt even give him a chance to start his sales pitch this time i told him what i thought of him and insulted him until he had the sense to hang up.
I then had a look online, oh boy, seems these people are making a mockery out of you as there are a lot of people having this issue. So to my question.
What is the point of registering with the tps as a number of the people having this problem are, yet still recieve the calls?
Does this mean that the end of the road is in sight for the tps?

and the reply.
Thank you for your e-mail. The point of registering with the TPS is to make it unlawful for unsolicited sales companies based in the UK to contact you. We cannot/do not guarantee that companies will not break the law and contact registered numbers. Hopefully this does not mean the end of the road for the TPS! We still do our best to ensure these calls are not received and investigate every complaint we receive with the goal of getting the offending company to suppress the complainants details. Please feel free to follow the link at the bottom of this e-mail in order make a complaint, we shall then contact Debt Advisory Line (as we have for all the other complaints we receive for them) and demand they suppress your details.

so there it is people, the answer is to email these guys. The more people that do contact the tps about this company the better. Plus it will ensure you dont get any more calls. ;-) - JOhnSpoke with ICO, TPS, BT and various, they are powerless to do anything about these numbers as they believe they oroginate outside the UK.
They cannot even block 0845 and similar numbers.
Some proven methods to stop them include blowing a whistle down the phone.- Caller: Debt Management
- KTI have been receiving the same phone call from this 0301 for months now, claiming to be from the Debt Advice Bureau and that they can clear all my debts via a govenrment scheme. Until now I have just put the phone down or asked them to stop calling but tonight I actually confronted them and asked them some questions. Firstly they are based in India calling on behalf of a debt company based in Leicester. When I asked them what information they wanted, they informed me they wanted debt info, dates of birth....they already had my name, address and telephone number, which they claimed they got from the Financial Market????? When I asked them for a telephone number to contact them back on, they said they couldnt give me one as they were in India, I asked for the Leicester office number, but suprise suprise they couldn't give me that either. I then aksed them for an address, couldnt give it to me, they had to pass me to an adviser, who also couldnt give it to me. I asked them were in India they worked, but they couldnt tell me that either.....bless them they don't even know where they work!!! I told them I thought it was a scam and not happy to give details over telephone to a company I have never heard of and claiming to be part of the Government, they assured me it wasnt a scam (what ever). They did say they would remove my details from their database........I will hold my breath until my 2 calls from them tomorrow! Oh yerh and when I asked them how many people do actually give them information, they replied "thousands"...either thats a lie or there are some gullable people out there! Think BT might be in for a telephone call tomorrow to see how I can stop them calling me on a twice daily basis!
- BazzaI have had numerous calls from these low life. I have told them so many times that I am not interested and hang up. My son who is 13 answered the phone the other day whilst I was out, he told them I was out, the stupid idiot on the other end of the phone asked if he was a family member and actually had the nerve to ask my 13 year old if he or anyone else in the house had credit cards, my lad replied I'm 13 years old how am I supposed to have a credit card?
I have been onto BTs nuiscance phone calls and they have told me that the number 0301 is a dummy number from an international number and they have no way as yet of doing anything about them and just to ignor them. - JezzaWe have been receiving calls from 0301 numbers now for what seems like an eternity. Again as with most others experience they ask for previous occupants. Usually my other half picks up the call and just says they don't live here anymore and to stop calling. For the first time I picked up a call from them today and was not pleasant to them. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put straight through to someone who said that he was the owner of the company, how much credence I would give to that could be measured in an imaginary world! I said that we had enough of them calling and that I was going to report them to TPS. He said it was not a direct marketing call but I said that it was an unsolicited call and we have on many occasions asked them not to ring our number again to no avail. He said that we would remove the number from their database and asked me to hold for a couple of minutes while they done that. After about 2 mins they then came on the line to say that our number has now been removed. Not sure what that was all about but will wait and see what happens.
- Caller: Goverment Backed scheme
- iamjaxgranjust had -very foreign- lady from this number. says she can help me get back overpayments on insurance! what?!?
- J FThis number keeps ringing, asking for my dad, when i say hes not here can i take i messege, they hang up. or they ask me if im over 18 and start asking me questions. i will, one day, hunt them down and punch them
- bigpetehad 0301 call yesterday, asked for person who no longer lives here, told the 'Indian'? this fact. They say will remove. Today call showing 0301 for one ring, few minutes later 'he' calls offering something about debt, I say not interested, he gets abusive, so I sound a window alarm down line. he puts phone down. I do NOT understand how these prats expect business. First of all it's the number: '0301' who the hell is going to beleive that? next some asian speaking in bad English, next they won't give name of company and address - now what d***khead gets taken in by this? obviously some do and hence us innocents are mucked about.
- Gordon WillisI've just had a call from them, too. Luckily I saw that it was an odd-looking number so I didn't answer it. Thanks for your comments, everyone.
- paulineHave received numerous calls from this line asking for the person who had the number before us. When I have said that I am not that person they have told me I am the person they want to speak to, today I told them they were talking a load of b------ as if they wanted to speak to me they would addressmeby my name. I am getting fed up with having so many of these calls every day.
- EmmaI just received a call from this number claiming to be from debt advice bureau. yet another annoying call from con artists!
- LinJust received a call from this 4 digit number. Couldn't understand who they were asking for so just said they weren't home. Thanks everyone for posting details as now I know what to expect should it happen again.
