Jgn percaya dengan debt collector hampeh ni...ramai debt collector dh masuk dalam forum ni, Jika dorg ugut nak sita rumah ke apa ke, bgtau dorg... lagi sekali kol ugut2 ni report polis akan dibuat. kalau dorg cakap ada link dengan polis, ajak dia dtg rumah bwk g report polis sekali... tgk macam mana dia punya link.

Saya baru dapat surah merah dan disertakan nama pada surat dari orang berwakilkan 'Zuri'. Dorang pernah telefon suruh saya jelaskan hutang kesemuanya. Kemudian saya buat bayaran separuh dari hutang saya dan continue dengan bulan2 tetapi dorang still jugak chase. Saya faham ianya 'hutang' tetapi saya tetap membayarnya.

Bro, i am facing the same case as u. Mind to share experience after receiving the red notice? They ask me to settle my debt and i did settle half of it and cont it by monthly basis, not much but pocket dry la and still they chasing me.

Dorg call aku ckp hutang aku tertunggak 6k n suruh bayar half of it . I said yes and continue with monthly installment yang aku mampu then die ckp xleh kene gak bayar yg die nak which is 400 monthly kalau tak nnt bln2 lg bertambah hutang aku  . Bodoh . lantak la malas aku nk byr ke ape , Dari elok aku nk byr jwpn cm haram mmg tak ah .

I just received a call from this no 03-21467000 in the noon today. They asked for my IC no and house address for confirmation. When I asked why, they said their officers are on the way to my house with police to lelong off my house TODAY. NOW.

I replied them the house is not mine, how are you going to lelong? When I asked for more info, the clerk said she's not legally allow to open the letter to check what's the real matter. She told me to call the lawyer, Tuan Jabar at 011-31663374. So I called the "lawyer" (manage to asked for the law firm's name: Azhier Arisin & Co), he said I have outstanding credit card debt with Maybank and they're on the way to my house with summon/ warrant to seal off my house and lelong it. Again, I said the house is not mine. He changed his story and said they will come in and seized the assets instead. Unless I paid the 10k credit card debt before 4:30pm today.
I asked for Maybank person in charge contact no to discuss about the payment. He gave me this phone no: 03-21130032 (later I found out this no is not Maybank but also debt collectors).

I tried to nego with "Maybank" and they said there's no way to pay in monthly installments now since the case has been escalated to "lawyer".

Frankly I was really panicked and disturbed with all these sudden phone callls. I admit it's my fault for defaulting the payment.

Then I googled about the numbers and found this forum. And after asking some friends working in the banking industries:

1) The bank can't sue us to bankruptcy with debt less than rm30k. So let alone issue summons or warrants which is nonsense

2) Always contact your bank in advance if you have problem paying the installments

3) Dealing with the bank directly will save them from paying the debt collectors commission so they usually will be more prefer to liaise with you directly on settling the debts

Since it's already after office hours when I've understand all these. I can only call up Maybank tomorrow to follow up.
