- Welsh-ChrisFound a message from this number when I got home from a few days away. All I heard was a string of numbers then something about text delivery service, (answer machine hadn't recorded the start of the message while playing the greeting). This was Wednesday afternoon, Royal mail delivered a parcel Thursday morning according to the tracking. Seems likely that this is a legitimate text delivery service used by several companies, mostly to alert you of deliveries due. Of course others could use this service to deliver other messages which may not be legitimate, but the service itself seems to be genuine. Seems to me that these automated calls could be improved, missing half a message (usually the most important bit!) because your answer machine is still playing the outgoing message isn't very satisfactory. I understand that technology exists to detect a machine answering, surely this could be used to delay the message until the machine was ready to record.

- DeaconReceived an really strange electronically generated message on my answer-phone at 9am stating that a car park at at certain postcode was reserved for disabled badge holders only. I know the car park and it is NOT reserved for disabled badge holders but why they would want to impart this knowledge to me, in the first place, is a complete mystery.
- EileenGot a call from these bods at the relatively civilized hour of 9:15 am. Didn't get to phone on time so 1471/3 got me an automatic message saying ' this is an sms message form HUL. For more information visit ww.HUL.com/text but missed the rest. Seems to be a messaging service for many companies but I'm not expecting any parcels, although my absent son may be.

- JimThis number called my land line to say in a robotic voice that there was an SMS message and then gave what appeared to be a premium rate number to call. I didn't, I just deleted the message. As Hermes had delivered a parcel 5 minutes before and from the other comments this number is used by Hermes, I obviously didn't need to hear it anyway.,
- Caller: Hermes?
- Call type: Text message
- Angelbabe1ukOk so I received my parcel off Hermes for sports direct but I’m still getting these calls?
So in the end I’ve opted for number 4 to switch off sms messages to my house phone!
And they only tried to pester me again so I’ve now also blocked the telephone number 03333440000 in my truecall I’ve got connected to my phone and nothing since Nov 9th now
They were also constantly ringing my daughters house phone and she has no parcels due to arrive so I again pressed the number 4 in the call and switched off her text alerts as well and she has had nothing since
It’s annoying that you have to answer the call to press 4 but it’s the only way to completely stop these harassing ppl 😡- Caller: Text Pests
