Four phone calls in the last two days.  Missed all of them on purpose.  Am going to phone Optus and blast them.

So glad I thought to check Google for this number.  This one and another (02) number have been calling constantly for weeks. I called the (02) number yesterday to see who the hell it was and there was a recorded message saying that they were an offical Optus service to offer new deals, etc.  That "they respect the 'do not call' list" (even gave out the website) and that they'd not call anyone on that list.  All  my numbers have been on that list since it came out, I even double checked yesterday.  So obviously that's a load of crap.  Optus reguarly pisses me off, I don't know why I stay with them.  Sigh

The (02) number is (02)81983820 just in case anyone needs to search for that number, too.

Just rang and blasted optus over this marketing thing, they said 'opps' sorry we have removed you from marketing, i told them its illegal to ring me when i am on do not call data base and they just giggled and said sorry again, it will be 6 -10 weeks before you are fully taken off the ringing list. What a load of cr@p ! i am ringing and making a complaint about them for this to the do not call register and cancelling my optus mobile. Unreal

Yeah same thing happening to me. They call and then hang up when I answer.

I have had heaps of calls from this number. I googled it and then decided to call back.... Glad I did!!

You can be removed from their calling list!!!
All you need to do is call back and listen to the msg.
It tells you to leave your name and phone number after the beep.
Takes 48 hours to be removed.

so f#$@ing annoying to get calls at 9.00 on saturday mornings when youve worked all night.....6.00 in the afternoon,1.00, 12.00 what the hell? im so angry!

I havent answered. I just rang back and it allows you to remove yourself from the call list if you leave your name and number so I did. Hopefully they wont call again.

I've had several missed calls from this number. I don't answer any numbers I don't know - and thank you to the person that started this forum because I agree this is really fkn annoying!

Gar!!! This stupid number keeps calling me! Glad I didn't bother answering it and googled it instead. Now I know that I'm right to ignore it!!

They call me every day, and have been doing for weeks now. Luckily I found this forum before calling them back. what [***].

They're still at it after a year! it's crazy! I picked up the call and they asked for my brother? and when I replied that name belongs to my brother, they replied 'It's okay. We'll call another number' And they haven't stop calling since.

They probably got my phone number from a public directory or from job seek websites.

I always google my callers ;] and I found this.

The above number has called both mine and my husbands phones over the past two days and am so sick of it. Neither of us have answered the calls and now that I have read the above comments am very glad that we didnt. I cant beleive that these calls are still happening as the first comment was made in Nov 08 and it is now Oct 09!

i also got a call from this number and he claimed that he is calling on behalf of OPTUS.He told me that there is an internet services upgrade in my area and bla bla bla.. then he started to ask me what service provider i use for house phone and internet and the costs.
** the most irritating thing is: he asked me whether i can speak english or not, with his terrible indian accent !! WELL, i did take few second to figure out his question before answering him, but this doesnt means i cant speak!!

Yep got a call from that exact No. I refused to answer it esp. showing (03) area code.
