had 3 calls from 01113 last one there was a person ,when pushed said research company  from harpenden herts  their no is 08453716118 got my no. from competition ....No........... i insisted they remove my name from list i asm contacting mp and bt. said phoning from philipines when i said member of tps. Rang BT who said i could have these calls stopped if i set up the number in CHOOSE TO REFUSE they will do it free for 1 month.

Had a silent call a few days ago and today someone called from the Lifestyle Research Centre. Wanted me to do a survey -  as I'm with the TPS I asked where had they got my number from and they just hung up! All seems very dodgy

I have had 4 calls from Lifestyle Research Centre saying they want to take one minute of my time to ask me questions on behalf of their clients.  When I asked them how they got my number they called me a M****er F*****er and hung up.  Who are they and how can we stop them calling or at least get someone to take action against them?

Had a call from the Lifestyle Research Centre in 'Manilla' and amongst the list of 'leading brands' I could make out were Scottish Power and Thomas Anderson (one I see another poster has named).

Not the first time they have called but I always threaten the guy calling (by name) with a lawsuit which has had them panicking, too conversant with the US litigation culture to know any better.

Whether it bears any relevance or not, I have had two debit cards cloned over the last few years.

First of all LRC(Lifestyle research Company ) is not a fake company its a UK company. That had outsourced its business. First of all I am saying sorry on behalf of every Indian if they were rude to u. They dont steal any kind of info. They got ur number after you or anyone in ur house hold filled a survey form or online competition within 6 months.

We've just had a call from Lifestyle Research.  They told us they were registered with the Market Research Society, but refused to give the details needed to verify their ligitamacy (the MRS can be called on 020 7490 4911 to check for fraudulent researchers)  We were told repeatedly we had entered a competition (If we had, we would have used our mobile number, not the number they called us on) but they could not give us our names.

This call was certianly unsolicited and possibly had fraudulent intentions.

Another one today.....I called them a bunch of F*rk*ng Thieves..... told them that I was the Keystone Police Dog Unit based at Scotland Yard, London... hehehe... they rang off very quickly but not before calling me a 'Bad Man...!'

Just had a call from Lifestyle Research by a lady with a  strong Indian accent.  Like others on this site I'm registered with TPS and told her I wouldn't answer her questions until she told me how she came by my number. Like others, she said I had entered a competition but she couldn't/wouldn't give any details. Finally when I asked for the telephone number of the Harpenden office, she hung up.

Whoever Guru is, he/she is clearly not prepared to give details of the organisation either.  A reputable market research would always readily give such details and would comply with TPS.

I got a call from an Indian guy who said he was calling on behalf of the Lifestyle Research Centre.  I asked him where he was based (he said Harpenden, Herts) but would not give me a phone number or postcode.  I asked him how he had got my number and he said I had taken part in a telephone survey (which I never do).  Eventually after a little rant about how I was registered with TPS and therefore he should not be calling me he hung up

Called just now from this foriegn sounding chap. When asked, he told me he was calling from lifestyle Research centre based in Harpenden.  He knew I was TPS registered too so these people know damn well what they are doing.   A*seholes!   I think next time, I'll just keep them on the phone and answer all their question incorectly and then tell them that the entire conversation has just been recorded by MI5!!

That is just B*llocks and you know it! these people always use the same damned reason "you filled in a survey" - because it's the only excuse they can think of!  Stop sticking up for these time wasting parasites

They are calling me at work! Give me an old - very old address, I said that was no longer my address so they asked for my new one - yeah right!!!!! They said I entered a competition recently, when asked the wouldnt say which competition and refused to give me any further details.

Very frustrating at work to be telling them where to go,....open plan office,...in future I will just hang up!

I got a call from 06468451872 this evening and a call from 06468451873 last night.  Our MP's should order British Telecom to provide Choose-to-Refuse as a complimentary Call Management Feature.  After all, if it were not for BT selling-on their customer telephone number lists to telemarketers, people wouldn't be getting inundated with unwanted and annoying calls from telephone solicitors.

i actually just received a call today, and they had the name of the former owner of the telephone number. but when i agreed to answer the questions she said she had for me (i never do, but was curious as to what questions might come up from the "lifestyle research center"...consumer oriented, demographic, sexual lifestyle?), i was not "qualified because i told her that i was american when i didn't know my health number. so she was clearly from india or somewhere outside of britain, since she didn't notice my american accent differed from the british immediately.

I don't think you can blame an entire country for ID theft. People are cheap to hire there, which is why unscrupulous companies will use them for their unscrupulous activities. Even our British companies are using cheap Indian call centres, as I am sure you know. Our government is perfectly happy for our companies to use cheap labour like this.

However, (I have had a call today from "Lifestyle Research Centre" who told me they were calling from The Phillipines) wherever they are from it is bloody annoying..

I recieved 2 calls this evening from 'The Lifestyle Research Centre' the first call ended after 3 rings.

30 mins later they called again and the guy who was Indian asked me 'How are you this evening sir?'

Having had an eventful day at work and needing some relaxation time and not calls from these idiots, (I should mention that I am an Indian born and bred in Yorkshire) I just wanted to end the call.

After a few failed attempts at declining the questions from this man I had to revert to "colourful" Indian language which made him complain to me and abruptly terminate the call.

Thank You - I do hate reverting to childish behaviour but with these guys it seems to be the only way!

Received 2 calls from these idiots today, 1 hung up and 1 i did not answer at 9pm, did 1471 and got this number.

I shall be changing my number had idiots ringing me before.

Just swear at them and tell them never to call you ever again. It makes you feel better and they can't do anything about it - it's your phone.
