Report a phone call from 08000280001 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Ben| 2 repliesJust rang me and claimed to be from a company called Home energy saver
Am on the TPS and will be reporting this.- Call type: Telemarketer
- Flying Pencil replies to BenMy mother (aged 86) was disturbed by them while I was at her house today. I wished I could cram the telephone up their collective, corporate a**es sidewards.
But, and it's a BIG BUT, according to TPS, with whom I complain regularly, there's nothing they can do about marketing companies. Apparently they can, it appears, act with impunity.
So I would suggest a better method is to lobby your MP, and/or whichever regulatory body supposedly "controls" these morons (obviously they can't). I stand by my thought that EVERY cold-calling company should be put out of business - the hit rate of success is probably minuscule (I run my own publishing company) but they obviously feel it's worth it... (sadly) - SimonYep, my 79 year old mother has also recieved calls from these law breaking scum bags AyJayDirect Marketing Ltd, though thankfully she hasn't had to waste any breath speaking to anyone from AyJayDirect Marketing Ltd to ask way they are breaking the law on unsolicited marketing calls.
She is also registered with TPS but I suspect that reporting AyJayDirect Marketing Ltd to them would be a waste of time.- Caller: AyJayDirect Marketing Ltd
- Andy| 1 replyI just had a silent call from these low-lifes and immediately reported it to OfCom not TPS which I along with everyone else here seem to be a member of to little effect.
I have in the past complained to OfCom when I can get the number from 1471 and it seemed to work so I would urge anyone getting these calls to report it on their website...

You do have to tell them who you are and where you live but please report it to them as it is more effective than TPS.

- DuderI get calls from these dudes periodically... though I have to say, generally on my mobile only since I bought a TrueCall system. Best call screener out there.
On the mobile - I have a phone book entry entitled "Some Sales T*sser" who appears to have a growing list of numbers... :) makes me laugh rather than get bitter when they call again next time.- Caller: 08000280001

just complained via your offcom link
=) - Chevalier replies to Antony LeesAntony,
Thanks for the reply.
I have received dozens of calls from this number and despite:-
1. Complaining that I am signed up to the Telephone Preference service and so should not receive such calls.
2. Explaining that I am not interested
I continue to receive several calls every day.
So, why is this happening? - mr mcgillgot a call from this number and have no idea why they rang or who they are
- and replies to Mr_Mhome energy saver
- Robert S.Those people are the pits.
I periodically get calls from them (about once a day) and when I answer the phone it goes dead. 1471 told me the number is 08000280001 so I rang it and got a recorded message saying 'thank you for calling and someone will answer shortly. 3 seconds later another message saying, all operators are busy, call back later.
So I did, but calling the number and hanging up then hitting redial and then hanging up. I did that about 50 times. As it is an 0800 number it does not cost me anything, so hopefully it will cost those scum bags for my calls. I doubt if it will make any difference to them, but at least I feel a little better.
This is just a thought - but - I recall talking to someone about energy saving and told them I was not interested. It was only after that call I started getting calls that rang off when answered. I have a feeling it is some form of weird revenge on their part for not falling for their sales patter. Could be wrong, but...... if it was proved, they could be open to criminal prosecution for harassment.
Now wouldn't that be nice:-)- Caller: Home Energy Saver
- Really Fed UpThis Company rings every day between 12.30 and 2.30. We are registered with TPS, we have told this company we are not interested in their product and we have asked them to take our numer off their list. They still ring. We resorted to leaving our phone on answerphone and at least their automatic system cut off the call when it reached our answerphone, however, we were still disturbed and inconvenienced by rushing to the phone. We have resorted to purchasing a "TrueCall" system which blocks call and prevents the phone ringing. At £100 it is an expensive solution which we shouldn't have to pay but the ability to fight back and prevent telemarketing companies disturbing us is well worth it.

- Lofty 7586 calls from 08000280001 in one day all silent.
Have received calls in the past about energy insulation but do not need it as fully insulated.
Am registered with TPS but still they come - just what does it take to stop these calls? - Mariewomens voice too quiet to hear
- CookieCalled several times recently whilst I was out. Finally picked up the call today. Someone trying to push home energt grants for cavity wall and loft installation. Very polite lady who thanked me then hung up as soon as I said I weasn't interested. But I'm signed up with the TPS so why did they call in the first place?
- jtJust received a call from these people, same situation, TPS, not interested, thank you very much, goodbye.
Thing is, someone came round the house the day before and asked my father (who stupidly gave him) the house address, confirmation of his name, and whether he'd be in during the day
So now I'm concerned that someone's going to try and break in, as they know we're not going to be here

- Mr McOur landline has also been targeted MANY times by Anthony Lees and his rogue telephone callers from Home Energy Saver aka Ayjay Direct Marketing Limited.
The phone often goes dead as you answer it, which tends to worry you to think that it could be some other sort of phone call. I have been told that lots of calls are made using a computer from a call centre and those answering the quickest get the contact voice on the other end while the line goes dead on the rest of us. We are registered with the TPS and will be getting in touch with them to report this company.
Mr Lees I believe you are in breach of the TPS agreement and need to get off our phones and leave us all alone!- Caller: Energy Saver aka Ayjay Direct Marketing Limited

- Valerie replies to Antony LeesHow do I get my number off your database - permanently? Your company has been ringing me twice a day for over 6 months. I have told your operators I am not interested, repeatedly. I have now purchased a very expensive kit which Zaps your number and now does not ring me because you have become such a pest. Instead of grants towards products I do not want perhaps you would like to reimburse me for the cost of installing equipment to stop you bothering me.
- trevI've had an increasing amount of calls (now from an international number, so TPS doesn't block it) regarding "loft and cavity insulation grants". I was polite in the early calls, explaining that my walls are already insulated, and the loft insulation is around 18 inches thick (I went a bit overboard a couple of years back). I thought this would end the calls, as they have nothing they can sell me. No such luck.
A couple of weeks back, the b@stards called me three times in 10 minutes. First call ended after I asked for a full disclosure of the information the company held about me under the Freedom of Information act, and the guy on the other end seemed to misunderstand what I'd requested, so then there was a polite "goodbye" and down went the phone. Second call was immediate - why had I not listened to what he'd said? I asked to speak to his supervisor - no joy. I asked to speak to the departmental manager - no chance, so I put the phone down again. Apparently I'd upset the delicate little flower on the other end by asking to speak to his manager ("He doesn't want to talk to someone who doesn't listen to me"). Delicate flower got a two word response and a dial tone...
Same again today. I listened to the initial introduction "We're calling on behalf of your energy provider..", then asked them to tell my who my provider was, and if they get it right I'd carry on listening - no joy. Response was "It doesn't matter - it's from all energy providers" - to which I asked her to take a guess at who mine is... Still no luck, at which point I hung up. Three seconds later, phone rings, same female, at which point she too got the two word piece of family planning advice.
From now on, they will be "put on hold" while I play them an assortment of tunes - on loop, ranging from "Y viva espania" to "The Birdy Song", maybe with a bit of Rammstein thrown in for good measure ( I must stress, this isn't my normal musical taste, just what I think would be most annoying to the pleb on the other end). It's their call cost, not mine.
I don't know if it's "AyJayDirect Marketing Ltd" doing this, but has anyone actually succeeded in getting through to this bunch of tossers and getting their name removed from whichever marketing database they currently used?- Caller: AyJayDirect Marketing Ltd?
