Report a phone call from 08000641087 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- ktJust after upgrading with o2 I received a couple of missed calls from 08000641087. When I went to use my phone there was a prepared text on the screen saying 'I could not answer your call. I'll ring back later', waiting to be sent to that number as though I had written it. I googled the number, saw it was suspect and barred it from my phone. I've had no more calls but had another pre-written text on my phone waiting to be sent to that number again today. I presume that means they tried to ring again but wondered if anyone knew how they manage to trigger something to make my phone produce a text I didn't write. Seems very intrusive to me...
- James| 1 replyI had a call from this number and emailed LBM with the following to Intelligentcontact@lbm.co.uk:

Hi,
I have received a call from your company on my mobile number xxxx xxxxxx which is registered with the telephone preference service. Before pushing on to complaint to the DMA I thought I'd give you the opportunity to make right the problem and assure me that my details have been removed from any/all telemarketing activities your company undertakes irrespective of the brand represented.
Regards,
James
DMA = Direct Marketing Association which they are a member of and have to adhere to certain codes of practise.
I got the following reply.....
Morning James,
Thank you for your e-mail.
To avoid any future calls from LBM, your number has been added to our do not call list.
In the mean time please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.
Thank you

A word of advice, register your mobile/landline/fax numbers with the telephone preference service (http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html) and use that to your advantage when people cold call you. All 'official' company's adhere to the TPS and if you mention this to them when you call it generally does the trick!! :-)- Caller: LBM / o2
- Call type: Telemarketer
- HPI had a call from this number saying they were O2 and wanted me to change tariff (in all fairness they were saving me money), but when I agreed they said I needed a new sim and they needed to take debit card details as it was effectively a new contract. I refused and have since spoken to O2 and have reduced tariff with no new sim required and on the old DDR!!
- Caller: O2
- kt replies to JamesMany thanks James, having registered my home phone with tps I hadn't thought to do the same with my mobile. I have done now and will follow your advice if they contact me again. I'd still be interested to know if anyone understands how they can generate a text on my phone ready to send to them...?
- Tina replies to WBThanx WB
Ive just emailed them
Fingers crossed it won't bounce back to me and they will remove my number b4 im forced to have it changed ;-) - ChrisThis is LBM calling on behalf of O2 and other major networks. To stop these calls then dial 0800 013 6671 from your mobile and select option 1. This will remove your mobile number off their records to prevent any further phone calls.

- O2 selling your numberI can confirm these calls are made by a company called LBM. However it is O2 that have sold your number to them. I know this for a fact as they asked for my husbands name who is the bill payer for my phone. I was considering changing contracts anyway but after 11 calls in 2 days its finally spurred me into action. How dare O2 sell my personal number onto someone else!
I would urge anyone who receives these calls to make an official complaint to O2 at complaintreviewservice@o2.com and perhaps if they realise that all theyre doing is pissing off their customers they will stop this nasty practice of seling your number.- Caller: LBM
- tinamooI was contacted by this number a few days ago. I was surprised as I am registered with the Telephone Preference Service. I had one missed call from them and then they tried to call again. I answered this time but there did not seem to be anyone at the other end. Since then I have had two missed calls from them.
I tried the 0161 number which has been listed previously in this thread but it seemed dead. I then rang the 0800 number that called & got a recorded message from 02 which told me to ring 0800 013 6671 to stop further marketing calls. I have done this and hope that I will not get any further calls from them.- Caller: 02

- nathanyep - i called the number 08000641087 and it is from o2 (or a company representing them)
- jacquithis number keeps calling me and when you answer it hangs up
- NotMyRealName| 2 repliesThe calls are coming from a company called LBM, who are employed by O2 for a lot of their Customer Service / Telesales. The calls are normally to either convince you to sign up for a new contract if you're near the end of your current contract, or to try and lower your bills if you're a business customer.
The best way to get the calls to stop is to just answer the phone and have a conversation - if you don't answer they will just assume you're not there right now and will call you again later. If you have a full conversation with them they will mark you down as a 'completed' call and you won't be bothered again.
It's not a scam, it's just someone hired by your mobile phone network trying to make sure you have a good deal.- Caller: N/A

- PurplekayI have been rung by this number a few times but luckily have missed their calls. I dont really want to be harrassed by them though and i have no idea how they would have got the number as only family, friends and legitimate companies have been given it by me. It's annoying! Im on 02 so that could be the link as others have said.
- pubiWho is it?
- Martin Clarke replies to NotMyRealName| 1 replyIt seems from your comment that you work for them. Maybe not, but my question is this:-
How can you have a conversation with them when, after 2 rings, they hang up? - Martin Clarke replies to Martin ClarkeSorry, my comment is for "NotMyRealName" posted on 10 Oct 2011.
I thought by hitting the reply button you were replying directly to the posted comment - RickKeep getting calls from 0800 064 1087 - real pain. I emailed O2 complaints and after a couple of days got a message to say that they 'can confirm that this was from O2'. No offer to stop the calls. Just said that as it was the first time I'd complained about unwanted calls they'd change my number for free! What good is that? Why not offer to stop calling?
I registered for telephone preference, but it takes time for that to work. In the meantime that number keeps on calling.
Last time they called I asked (twice) if they were from O2 or a marketing company. They insisted they were from O2. Well, that fits with what O2 complaints guy said. This isn't marketing, help, or good customer relations - I just feel harressed. Great way to loose business.

- SadieI just checked my phone, and found I had one missed call. it was 0800 064 1087. I checked on another website and alot of people got a call from them after entering their number into a broadband checker. I have NEVER done this, so o2 must be giing away customers numbers. All i know so far is that this is some kind of marketing company, called LBM, and they are working for o2 and various other companies. But what are they doing? Are they trying to sell us new deals or something?
