Just got a call from them unusually for me I answered he said he was from O2 so I said for BDSM PRESS 1 FOR GAY SEX PRESS 2 FOR he hung up

This number is calling me for second time. I'm not going to answer.if thepy continue how should I procced¿ my phone company is not 02 as I read in these comments from other people.

Nuisance call! Tries several times a day including evenings.

Hi!! Id just like to clear a few things up!!. The company that calls you is called Convergys, They are based in South Manchester and Belfast mainly in the Uk. They are an outsource company that work on behalf of O2, Vodaphone, British Gas and several others. The calls are intended to look at Pay as You go or Contract customers with High spends and convert them onto a pay monthly deal or additional lines if you already have a contract with them. What happens is people just hang up or get abusive and sometimes understandably too. What happens is they work on a dialler system that will just continue to call you unless a resolution has been reached at the end of each call either a "sale" or "not interested" or "happy with current pay as you go deal". My honest advise to stop these calls is politely answer and ask them to "surpress" your number,  or even find out what they have to offer, Sometimes you might actually get a better deal!!! hanging up or being abusive will only lead to further calls. Not because that person is trying to bug your personally but because they will end that call "hung up" or "call back" and you receive countless re-tries as a result. Chat to them. Be polite and like I said they may even be able to save you a bit of money. And if not. At least you wont be pestered every day.   I really hope this helps

You are involved in making nuisance calls and can still attempt to justify that on a forum like this?    You threaten that calls will continue -  countless times?    "surpress"??    You interrupt me in my home at any and all times of the day on a phone that I pay for yet can still ask for "chat", "polite"?        As a business model your days are numbered.     In the short term I'll continue to laugh while I press the button on my call-blocker to drop you into oblivion.  I really hope this helps.    Anything further I can do such as helping to eliminate your nasty ways will be a pleasure.

I love it when they use that like lol they obviously know the number if they phoned it I had a call didn't answer it I'm on voderfone lol I'll answer it next time and play the game lol

The fact that you automatically assume I am "involved" just because I explained to you what actually happens to try and assist people on this forum shows how uneducated some people can be. I am not "involved" as you so nicely put it but work as a teacher and was simply trying to help people realize its not all bad.  And even if I were to be "involved" no threats were made. I was simply explaining how the system works, "You don't pick up or hang up" they will keep trying and trying. Simple right?? If you choose to ignore that and would rather come back with the dross above. Be my guest.

How did you acquire your "knowledge"?      Isn't this a school day?   Should you not have been at the coal face at the time you posted?

Oh 12d, don't be silly, we don't have pits anymore. We send our unwashed and uneducated to call centres where they have their little bit of cerebellum removed. We give them all comedy names and remove their ability to understand the word  " No ".   We dull their hearing so that they can keep talking over anyone who answers and only when the connection is broken then they can move on to the next, ad infinitum. Occasionally, one whose lobotomy was not completed, breaks away and , calling himself " Guest" tries to justify his existence by giving half-hearted advice but fails miserably due to his previous surgery and a totall lack understanding of the real world.

I work in Cuenca in Spain, And not that I have to justify myself to you, you ignorant women, But my mother is with O2 and had been receiving the same. We looked into it further (forums like this) and their office is about 4 miles from her house in Manchester and a friends partner worked there. Its probably some poor kids on minimum wage having to deal with "the normal people". I tried to lend a bit of advice to this page when in fact now its those poor people who have to deal with people like you day in day out rather than the other way around.

Appreciated, Anyway.I leave you all to it to be bitter about things that really are not important, My original message wasn't to justify O2 or whoever is constantly contacting you but more to share how to stop it. The fact you have both completly over looked that, shows where the lack of brains really lie, and its not in an O2 or vodafone call centre I may add. (just in case you over looked that too)

You might as well save your breath.  There are those who do not wish to be given the facts and will slate those trying to help.  I thought that most people know that some companies keep 'phoning if you don't answer them, Market Research for instsance, so your helpful post was understandable.  I don't like cold callers so have a call blocking 'phone which solves the problem no matter how many times they call.

Thanks for the positive reply Alice, what I was trying to explain was the truth and my advice was to easily stop those types of calls is to pick up and talk to the person. Nothing more, nothing less. I wasnt trying to justify the actions of the companies but these two morons seem the type of people that if I did happen to work in that type of business I would probably get joy out of annoying them too. I hope their boyfriends burn their evening meals, Miserable sods.

Let me get this clear. You don't work for O2. You don't work in a call centre.  You don't work in this country.
Your mother is with O2 but you feel you can get the essence of this company by the merest whiff from a friend of your mother's who works there. Well, I'm sure that that probably overqualifies you and we should all bow to your superior insider knowledge  of how telemarketing works.  Just because Telefonica is a Spanish company doesn't mean it hands out it's  O2  information to any / everyone on the Iberian peninsula.

Hahahaha Ok Kenny, Jesus Christ, I never stated I was qualified or have superior knowledge, my mother who lives in Sale happens to know through a friend a former employee of Convergys who told her the process they go into after she was receiving several calls. I thought I would share it with people who may have been wary of the calls or thinking it was some kind of scam. Because I like to think Im a pretty decent guy. The Internet and Forums were created for people to share these things, (Lets not forget I was sharing advice on how to stop it) but just because its something that you and the other baboon didnt like because you think its your given right to question something may actually be legit.   I feel sorry for somebody like you who probably sits at home all day on different chat rooms throwing negative comments at everything and everyone.  And As Alice said. Even without knowing a little bit about a dialler system. It also doesn't take a genius to work out that if companies such as O2 keep calling you and you don't answer they will keep calling again and again.  Not once have either of you given anything but a moronic opinion. When my original post was a fact based post and will hopefully help them. Awaiting patronising reply...........

No , I am not really his Mum , I just never got around to tell him. She was a friend but because of the whiff social services wouldn't let here keep him. She moved to Spain to get away. She was only twelve but as randy as a rabbit.
