Like many others, I am X-directory and have no need of this parasitic 'service'.

Two common questions: 1. How do they obtain X-directory numbers?, and...
                     2. Has anyone successfully stopped them calling?
Clearly the 'press 9 option' doesn't work - I've done it and it hasn't stopped them.

Anything legal to be used based on their harrassment and sent to their [***] company?
All options welcome....

Nuisance call - recorded message about finance

I get calls from a Tony Blair soundalike from this number on a regular basis. 2 today so far. I am also registered with TPC, but it's just not working. I class this as harrassment.

Nearly everyday and always at dinner time - so annoying cos stop everything to answer the phone. Am ex directory and registered on the caller preference service so how have they got my number and more to the point how do you stop it ???!!!

However, I decided to listen and it gives you the option of not receiving their calls again by pressing '9' - hopefully this will work.

There must be a more effective way of stopping getting numbers?!

Registered with TPS - option 9 to pt out doesn't work.  Operator won't reveal name of the company and hangs up.

I am registered with TPS and ex-directory but this number has called me on two recent occassions.

i keep getting dam phone call every day from a with held number so we had it bard .to my a massment i have 2 from the same person did the 1471 and got this number its the same coperny i am so fedup now as we have had thers numbers bared from our land line but still geting them .there must be a law agains them as its harassment

I'm also gettin a couple of calls a day, off different numbers i am BT ex directory and TPS registered. As i'm on bt choose to refuse i block the number but the next day the same stupid recorded msg but from a different number!! This is harassment

Same call received on my work phone yesterday evening, I called them back and it's Churchwood Financial, here's their website: www.churchwoodfinancial.co.uk.

If you're registered with TPS (Telephone Preference Service) a company may only call you with your prior consent (if you are already a customer of theirs) and the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office) can only investigate a complaint if you know the name of the organisation that calls you.

Calling a business in the middle of the day with a recorded message offering debt relief.

I rang Churchwood and threatened them with an ASBO. They said if I gave them my number, they would not call again. I said they were breaking the regulations and shouldn't call anyone unsolicited and I would not give them my number.

I suggest everyone calls them and threatens them with an ASBO.

I missed the call but then researched the number on here. THis things are really starting to annoy me. PLEASE STOP CALLING ME IF YOU ARE READING THIS!!

I get daily calls from this number and am completely fed up with them.  I'd like to know how they got my number, but how do I go about stopping the calls?  It's been going on for a while and just wish it would stop.

Don't press the 9 button - it's probably the equivalent of replying to spam emails and just tells them you're a 'live' phone number. I'm registered with the TPS and the only calls I get are regarding loans and debt clearance. I would love to know how to stop these calls as at the moment I don't have caller display and don't like not answering the phone.

Surely BT must have an address to match up to every telephone number. Isn't it just a matter of them seeing where this number is or who pays for it?

I just rang the 0161 number and told them to get this stopped, they gave me some womans details and asked "Oh, is that not you?"

I told them I want the business details removed and I want them to ring back and confirm when this has been done.

Will see what happens.
