Don't talk rubbish.  The world and his wife knows that these computer virus calls are a scam. This was highlighted on BBC1 programme "You've been Scammed" on 21st November. On the same programme the Director of Security for Microsoft stated that neither they nor their partners would ever 'phone you as it would be a breach of their privacy rules.  By the way, if you are going to write rubbish, at least get a basic knowledge of English.

Had call from helppconline as they call themselves, saying they are phoning on behalf of microsoft about problems with my pc. Seemed to know too much about me, even who my internet provider was. Very pushy said it would cost 99.95, to sort the problems, i said i didnt have the money, so they offered me a reduced price of 59.95. I said that i was still not interested, so he said i could have the service for 39.95. I said no thanks and he said that i was running the risk of my computer crashing and that i should not use the computer because of this. Scare tactics dont work with me.
Defineately a con I  think, Even when i said i didnt have the money he still said can i confirm that you do have a valid debit card and could i tell him who with, visa etc. I said I am not giving you any details because I am not interested.

If you read my earlier post, this is a scam.  As detailed on "You've been scammed", BBC1, 21st November.  These people will install spyware/malware on the computer if given remote access.  Any money they ask for seems to be a diversion to hide what they are really doing.  The Director of Security for Microsoft stated, on the same programme, that neither they, nor their partners, would ever cold call you.  It is a breach of their privacy rules.

I know about this company, it is not a scam.  However the way they sell there product is not right. They are not associatated with Microsoft or any other ISP and it is true if there is anything wrong with your computer you will be the first person who should know about this. If somebody has done something wrong on your computer just restoring the computer will not help you much. The people who do not know much about computer should try there services just for once I am sure they would like it and If you do not like the services ask for a refund or a charge back as per the online transaction policy. People who have let them work on there computer should not be worried, they can still use there computer but i know you will still be doubtful about this so, unplug the ethernet cable (if using wired connection)and run a full sca on your computer and after that use the internet and if you are using a wireless connection (or turn of the router) and run a full scan. I would be happy to help if somebody needs any  technical help or advise.

My GF got one of these today but it looks as though the scam has changed. It's now "we're ringing about the problem with your broadband". Indian guy called "Jackson Alexander" claimed to work for "BT, Virgin and all the others" wanted her to open up Internet Explorer and try some things out, which she didn't want to do. Similar to one of the people above, when she asked for the company's number, they gave out the BT helpline number: 0800 1114567.

I had a call from Jack Wills too!. Only his number was 08082802560 saying he was Helppconline.

Funny how so many Indians in this business have English sounding names (all the Indians I know personally have Indian names!)

Had a call from "Microsoft Support" Suggesting I had a problem with my computer, wich I don't, and that for £90 I could get 24 hour support from a staff of 700 people 24 hours a day.
The address he gave was Century House, Leicester. Tel: 08009770035
Cannot Microsoft do nothing to stop these calls, they do manage to collect information on all its users to make a prophit from advertisers perhaps they could be persuaded to assist their users.

This Shower show you perfectly normal disabled services and the like using event viewer and msconfig and try to claim theres problems with your computer due to a virus or trojan and then claim your firewall and antivirus are compromised.

This is not so, to not let them send or download any software from them do not let them use remote assistance to enter your computer if you do personal details such as bank accounts and passwords and any data history pertaining to these will be looted from your computer.

This is a scam and its so blatant I neednt really go back over it but if anybody has allowed them access to computer change everything all passwords and contact bank etc anti fraud services, oh and disable remote assistance services only enable those with trusted professionals or friends. I would also do a complete online antivirus scan and remove any software installed by them

I've just had a similar call from co called helpconlineltd. The guy had a very heavy indian type accent but said his name was Peter Harvey. When I asked some serious questions he passed me over to another indian sounding chap called Jack Wilson. Strange that! 2 men with strong foreign accents, but both with very "english" type names. Said they had called because my computer had been sending error messages to microsoft, which infact is absolutely true. So where they got that info from I don't know! When they said that they could clean up my P C remotely with my permission, I began to realize what they could do if they were not genuine, so I obviously voiced my concerns. I then asked what if any charge there was for their service. They informed it would be £99. That was the deciding factor for me, hence I told them I would think about it first and check out their company. I have checked that company name on the web and several web links come up, but significanlty and slightly concerning is the fact that one matches the name, the 08000488106 tel number and the Liecester address they gave. I still think that I was right in not letting them take control of my P C or give them my credit card details.

They must be trawling the site looking for complaints as the post before "James Rai" was 8th June!!  He is probably the same person as "Me" who made a fake post earlier. Looking at the various "computer scam" 'phone numbers on the site it seems the message is finally getting through as more and more people are telling these rats to get lost. Next target is the fake loan rats.
