- Ross WJust had TWO calls within 5 min. I asked him how do you know I have a windows computer system. He just said I see errors that need to be fixed. I said "do you know what a mountain Lion is?" he seemed confused for a few seconds, then continued his spiel that my computer still needs repair.I then said if you don't know the answer to my (hinting) question, you don't know anything about computers. He still didn't catch on that mountain lion is Apple's latest OS so I hung up.

are these people realy this stupid??? to have a legit registered company, the address is a small residential in crawley with the US company house being a 5.2 million dollar mansion.
I was called today and was effectivly bullied by them into "doing" what they wanted, i was not daft enough to actually do it by the way, they gave me various addresses including what turns out to be an estate agent in leicester on london road. the very heavily accented indian with the very british name (very odd) even tried telling me that i was breaking the law if i did not let him have access to my pc as i was spreading viruses and invading other peoples computers until i pointed out to him that if he had remote information about my PC then he must have a trojan horse or some other tracker software on my PC which was against the data protection act for one and that as a microsoft certified engineer myself i pointed out the event viewer he got me to use showed perfectly normal information and not information about viruses.
DO NOT ENTERTAIN THESE PEOPLE they will scam you for hundreds of pounds in non existant service and may even hijack information from your computer such as bank account information.- Caller: helppconline.com

- terryI was called yesterday by a guy who said he was from helppconline and asked did I know that I had a lot of errors on my pc. I asked him how he knew this and he said that they monitor internet traffic on behalf of Microsoft and had detected 830 error reports on my computer which if allowed to continue would slow my
pc down and eventually stop it working.
I told him that since my computer was only three months old this was unlikely and questioned his validity since I have recently been the victim of computer fraud. He then gave me the name and full address of the company based in Orlando, also details of offices in Leicester including phone numbers. All seemed genuine whilst I checked the info on the internet, however I told him I was not prepared to give him access to my pc.
To allay my fears he suggested that I turn off my router to prevent this and then asked me to run a program eventvwr. This did not provide the info he needed so asked me to run msconfig and tab on services. This actually showed that my pc did in fact have 832 errors or warnings registered. Alarmingly these errors were being registered every minute for a prolonged period of time.
With this evidence he told me he could clear these and prevent further errors from corrupting my pc. At this point I wondered if he was genuine after all. He offered to download a number of software programmes for a one off cost of £109.99 which included free anytime technical support for future problems.
This again made me suspicious, particularly when he asked me to run a programme logmein123.com. This took me to their support site where I needed to enter a 6 digit code, presumably to allow them access to my pc. At this point my better judgement prevailed and I said no thanks and goodbye.
I am now convinced this was a scam, but I need answers to some questions:
How did they know my pc had these errors?
What has generated these errors and do they pose a risk to my pc?
How do I remove them and prevent further errors being generated?- Caller: helppconline
