Vodafone Sales department. Tellin you that you have been upgraded to a Lloyalty customer, they are wanting you to buy more contracts. (eg dongle's and selling contracts to friends) A waste of time! Then i received an automated follow up call re whether the sales person was helpful at all!

They told me i was upgraded to a lloyalty customer and there are pleanty of offers avaliable, but none for me! Only for new customers that i could recommend!!

It seems like a pretty clever, but shockingly immoral marketing technique.

If they spam call every number that ever left their books you can bet at least 1/10 will call the number. Of those maybe another 1/10 will go on to speak to vodafone and 1/10 of those suckers will get duped into switching back.

It's effectively a free way of reaching a massive market - if they hang up before you answer the calls cost them nothing, but you've instantly got a reason to call them.

I'd put money on that being illegal by the way.

Been receiving a couple of calls from this number lately.  I'm with Virgin and my contract expires in two months, thus...someone, looks like Vodafone are now trying to sell me a phone if I speak to them.

Had this before when I was with my previous contract at Vodaphone.  Trouble is they want you to comit to buying a phone that you may not have either seen or used before.  Hey man, I like to try before I buy like.  They tend to stop calling you after a while.

If u have a little time and are doing something else, just entertain them, ask lots of very inane questions, I was ironing and managed to keep them talking about nothing for over 30 minutes before I got bored, told the rep I had been stringing him along and laughed at him - no calls since.  Funny that

Recieved 2 calls from this number today. The 2nd time i picked up and no one answered except I could hear background noise. They hung up the phone after I said hello. If a company consistently makes phone calls to people like this, something should be done about it as it is a nuisance.

I got a call from this number today and they said they were from Vodafone. They were trying to get me to take an international call option and when i said no they offered me a SIM only deal. When they first call, if you wait about 5 seconds, you do get a voice on the other end. I think their dialler routes it to a salesperson when you answer, hence the delay. The lady was very polite, although when i said no to everything it was a "thank you" and the line went dead.

If you call them on 08080000155 and ask them to remove your number from their lists they should do so. Especially if you inform them you have your number registered with TPS (Telephone Preference Service). It may take up to 48 hours for the calls to stop though.

Really fed up with this number. Keep calling several times with no one on the other side. Need to do something about this number. At least could leave a voicemail to know who is calling.

It is actually a computer that dials your number, then once you have picked up, connects you (or supposed to) to a member of their sales team. If no one is available ou get the silent treatment.

Your and everyone elses number is on a database so it is not updated when they say they will, they just have a list of p****d off customers they are trying to remove but the list keeps growing.

I too have had these calls from a couple of vodaphone numbers and just ignor them.

    All the best,

My wife just got a call from this number, and it was defnintely Vodafone. When they asked her to confirm her mobile number and date of birth she said she wasn't prepared to give that information to someone who's just called her out of the blue - particularly from an 0800 number - then said goodnight and hung up. A few seconds later she had a text message from Vodafone saying "For your information it's not an 0800 number it's an 0808 number". Cheeky [***]! If I could've reached down the phone and punched his face in I would've. Instead I made a complaint to Vodafone and the manager I spoke to was fuming when I told him, said he could see the message and would be making an issue of it with the guy's manager. I hope they give the little [***] a slap!
