Calling me 4x a day, very annoying. I will be leaving Vodafone next month, and this is a factor in me leaving. Hope someone is listening from Vodafone.

The reason you will answer the phone to silence is because they use an automatic dialler - the dialler can dial up to 50 numbers at a time but sometimes only as few as 10 agents are available to speak to someone when they answer.

This is completely legal, and the company have a strict % target of "dropped" calls they cannot exceed on a daily basis. It seems you have all been some of the unlucky ones, but this is why there is silence.

Just had one missed call. Seemed an odd number so searched web & found this site. If it is Vodafone it would seem they arnt on to a winner with this marketing stratergy.

I didn't know who it was till I read this thread, so I asked to be removed yesterday morning
About 5 minutes ago the same number rang yet again.

Got a missed call from them today just after 7pm, was playing football and didn't have my phone on me. Googled the number and got here, wondering what to do if they ring again

i constantly get this number(08080011101) calling me everyday at the same time! twice sometimes! i have picked up once & there is noone there. why do they do it? there needs to be some kind of procedure to get rid of these calls.

Same thing's happening to me.  Everyday between 11am-14pm - even at weekends.  When I pick it up no-one answers.  I'm just ignoring it now.  I won't go through the hassle of trying to get it blocked.  If they want to waste their time calling me then I'll let them.  Besides, I am quite curious to know how long it's going to go on for.

They keep calling me with the silent treatment too, so I though t I'd do it back to them. I answered and said nothing for 30 seconds and an operator picked up;
"hello this is (whatever) from vodafone"
"excellent, write to me"
"I'm just calling as a courtesy call"
"write to me"
"Do you still have the nokia 6280 went sent you a few years ago"
"write to me" *hung up*
Nice. It seems odd that a genuine vodafone operator would call from what sounds like a very noisey pub.

They have been phoning me for months now with increasing frequency. Four times today already. Bye Bye Vodafone

got a call from the above number they said it was vodafone. I called vodafone and they confirmed it was their customer services

This number calls me at least 3 times a day.  Do not answer, but it continues despite this!

I'm not a Vodafone customer, I haven't inputted my mobile number into anything linked with Vodafone and yet I got a call yesterday with the silent treatment as well.
Can't wait to see if I get another one, I love dragging them over the coals when they are so annoying

I constantly keep getting these calls and I am a Vodafone user. My plan is to go down th vodafone store tomorrow and see if they recognise the number. All other vodafone customers should and so should those who arent.

I received a call from this number, after about a 10 second or so time lapse somebody answered at the other end, a male indicating that he was from Vodaphone informe me he was calling to let me know about services I could be provided with from Voaphone. I said ok and that I am interested, he then asked me to confirm my name, DoB, address and vodaphone password. I found this to be suspicious being as if Vodaphone was calling me surely I wouln't have to provie so many details. I didn't pass over any etails an hung up, I did not receive another call untill 6 months later an now like others am receiving 5 plus calls a day.

No answer when I pick up.  Calling frequently.

Answered today and then i heard cut in and panicked and hung up thinking its prerecorded message.
Might dial from work.
googled 0808 it appears thats freephone.
Dialed from work sounds like voice of vodaphone saying Courtesey call. Then again it still could be anyone though.
If you want to speak to the team dial 08080 0000 155...no bothering to speak to them.

I've been a vodafone customer for 5 years and never had these calls until yesterday. Got the silence when I answered and have had 2 more today which I cancelled.

If I get it again I'll call 191 and complain

i just phoned vodafone about this number and he said it was a courtesy call to extend my 18 month contract to 24 months but i said im not giving out my security details when they wudnt tell me what the call was about! still not sure it is vodafone though!

This might be an automated dialler, making outgoing calls and then routing them to agents once the call is answered. I have lots of calls like this where you say "hello" to empty air and then immediately afterwards you hear the noise of the call centre and the salesman's overly cheery hello. Perhaps this dialler is malfunctioning and either not routing the answered calls through quickly enough, or attempting to route them to agents on other lines. That'd explain at least why they can't sort it, or won't admit to the problem.

Thank god I am not the only one who gets these calls, I get the same no answer. It is so annoying. I refuse to answer in case it costs and it encourages them to call more.
