- LizzieM replies to Dave| 4 repliesHi Dave. Do you have evidence of this? Must admit I thought the same , but need proof.

- phil142 replies to NanThe message you refer to has been there for at least the past couple of days. I am surprised it has lasted that long
- Tapa = scam !!!!| 2 repliesHad a call from a gent from the advertising protection agency on friday just done my research and luckily found this website looking at the advertising protection agency terms and conditions and looking at the comments on here and the post from mike it looks like tapa are a SCAM and by the looks of things Mike has summed it up
So tapa are calling people like me telling me i have been frauded and then tell me that they can get my money back of this company who I have advertised with. I then pay these con artists money and tapa who dont actually have no powers at all just register me with the tps which i can do myself if i wanted and that's it and cannot claim a penny back for me.
Now what worries me though is the fact they told me that i have been a victim of fraud and they can get my money back from this company who I have advertised with for years. they have lied to me straight away on the phone THEY CAN DO NOTHING FOR ME BUT CON ME OUT OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY and register you with a service that is free.
I know what im going to do now on tomorrow morning I am firstly going to contact trading standards with the phone call that i have of this company misselling me a service which they can't provide. My next step will be to contact the telephone preference service myself and inform them about this company (tapa) then i think i will contact the company who i have advertised with and advise them that there is a scam company contacting their clients telling that they have been conned!
Thanks you who calls me I'll be using this website more often tapa are the type of companies what shows you more needs to be done by the government to stop these types of scams artists- Caller: The advertising protection agency

- Mike replies to Tapa = scam !!!!Hi Mike
My understanding is that you will have to go through consumerdirect
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentcitizen ... ights/index.htm
and that Cheshire East Council Trading Standards and Bury Metropolitan Borough Council Trading Standards are supposed to be investigating. good luck and let us know - phil142 replies to Tapa = scam !!!!Several of us have already contacted the TPS. I copied them in on my cancellation email to TAPA in early October but they have not even acknowledged my email. I don't know whether anyone else has had a better response. I hope we will get a formal response from the Cheshire TS/see evidence of action taken by them. Today I have emailed the MSE for the 2nd time to ask why they continue to suspend discussions on TAPA. I got my first clue that TAPA might be a scam from MSE so I want others to have access to the discussions there.
- elroonio| 12 repliesi received 2 emails from TAPA last week within minutes of each other, threatening court action if i hadn't paid by the 14th (today).
the 1st email was to some guy i never heard of with a different amount to what they are trying to con out of me. the 2nd one had my name and the correct amount, but the SAME reference number as the 1st email. both emails said 'by email and post' - still haven't received the posted letter.
the invoice they sent me a few months ago (that got laughed at, shown around the office for others to laugh at, then binned) looked like a proper second rate attempt - seriously, my sisters 2 year old could do better with crayons.
needless to say i didn't fall for it.
so the "court" email is a better attempt at a scam than a school kid, but only just.- Caller: TAPA
