THIS IS AN EXTREMLY DEVIOUS AND CLEVER SCAM.

TAPA ARE LINKED WITH OTHER SCAM ADVERTISEING COMPANY’S WHO WILL CALL AND HASTLE YOU TO TAKE ADVERTISING SPACE, THEY WILL THEN THREATEN LEGAL ACTION. This is when you get a random call out of thin air from the advertising protection agency, claiming they can stop the calls and legal letters. Once you are reeled in by there scam, they simply tell there own Advertising company’s to stop calling you, AND YOU ARE STUCK PAYING A MONTHLY FEE TO THEM. - DONT BE FOOLED! THIS IS A VERY CLEVER SCAM!

JUST SAY NO TO SALES CALLS – ITS SIMPLE! IF YOU DID NOT ORDER ANYTHING THEN DONT PAY IT, PUT IT IN WRITING TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE HASTLEING YOU AND COPY IT TO TRADING STANDARDS. ITS THAT SIMPLE AND ITS FREE.

They are not a registered company, they just hide behind name that you cannot trace on companies house, or HM revenue and customs. They do not exist , THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY, THEY ARE TRICKING PEOPLE WHO ARE BEING TARGET BY SALES COMPANIES SOME OF WHICH THEY HAVE LINKS TO.  THEY ARE PREYING ON VUNRABILITIES THAT THEY CREATE!

This is modern day racketeering, they do not exist, if you have paid them, get your money back, the only way to stop these idiots is to say no on the phone to advertising agencies, its easy, you don’t have to pay some con men who will only tell the companies they own to stop calling you.

If you have paid TAPA and are concerned, help my investigation further by posting your experiences.

TAPA, SCAM SCAM SCAM, ALSO The Advertising Protection Agency

The press office at the Advertising Standards Authority has confirmed to me they believe The Advertising Protection Agency is bogus and is as the name suggests - a protection racket. Seems they are operating in tandem with the cold-calling advertisers (may well be the same people I figure) - they get you paying say£10 per month and the nuisance calls dry up and monies paid get returned as if by magic. Brilliant!

I telephoned them & had a heated conversation with them today but was told they only deal in online queries.

In my opinion it's a front for collecting phone numbers to re-sell to the scammers who st it up. The website and lack of affiliation to any government body such as Ofcom says it all

I became a member of tapa at the begining of this year. I came across this website and read josh's comments about the press office at the advertising standards authority saying tapa are bogus. I contacted the ASA to verify josh's claims and they denied what josh said. They informed me that they work in tandem with tapa, josh is therefore telling lies. I then instructed tapa to represent me and since january, they have put an end to the nightmare I was suffering at the hands of charity advertiser company's. I would advise anybody who is having these kind of problems to contact tapa.

TAPA is a scam. You can get a better free service direct from the TPS corporate scheme. A group of the fake advertising companies set it up in 2007, charge a monthly fee, and in return you are not called by them. The ones who do not join (their competitors) are then bad-mouthed on forums. But as always, they leave a trail by using the same people and numbers. I've collected this on them:
