This is definitely o2 ringing about unpaid bills. I just rang o2 directly from my phone to queery this and they have infomed me its run by a computer system which gets muddled up.

THIS IS NOT A SCAM THIS IS AN O2 NUMBER!

It is O2, because you have an overdue bill. It's not a scam thing. Just call and pay your bill fool!

I paid the balance of my bill last night yet they still call me from this number. O2 need to sort out their systems!!

I am getting it too! But I called up the number that they told me to cause I knew I was having money problems and it would be overdue, but I have money now. So I went through the steps to pay my bill and they sent me another text saying my receipt number and that my payment has been taken. Then s few hours later they're texting and calling me
Again..... It's really annoying.

It's definitely O2, and not a scam (Google is your friend, people, not to mention O2's own website!), and you'll start getting calls from this number when your bill is more than a day overdue, as I know from experience, being a freelancer who hasn't set up a direct debit (because I can't guarantee the money being there on a set date), and a poor memory.

You'll get calls for a day or so after you've paid because it takes that long for the system to update. Nothing sinister.

O2 calling about paying your bill mine was 3 days overdue and I git 7 calls and 3 text messages totally over the top best way is to check your account online and pay it that way

iv had this no 08448471242 call me up fours times soo fare in one hour about my bill well i paid it last week and i havent phone this no back and wasting my money on them.i dont do 0844 numbers.DONT CALL THEM BACK

I had a call from this number despite me promising to pay O2 today after a failed dd on the 20th . I kept to my word and cleared the Bill this morning.
Yet another instance of one dept not knowing what the other is doing , and in any case it is a shame they're not as fast to act when I have issues that need their attention!

Wish ppl on here would be totally honest when commenting. This IS the debt number for o2. You WILL only get a call and txt from this number if your account is in arrears. Most do pay by d/d but then, dont check if payment has come out, and hey presto.....after posting guess what. The d/d has declined!!!!  O2 will NOT cancel a d/d. Why would they? Like any company they want paying. I have checked with my bank (and have had confirmation from 2 seperate banks as d/d set up with them) that it is the bank that will actually cancel the d/d some after the first d/d failure others after the second.**ALL IM SAYING IS PAY YOUR BILL THEN YOU WONT GET THE CALL/TXTS. STOP COMPLAINING COZ OF YOUR NON PAYMENTS. IF YOU DNT HAVE AN ACCOUNT, MAKE SURE AT LEAST YOUVE NEVER HAD ONE PREVIOUSLY. IT MAY BE A DEBT FROM AN ACCOUNT YOU HAVE HAD, AND YOU HAVE NOT PAID.WOULD YOU RATHER THEM NOT SAY AND SEND IT STRAIGHT TO AN AGENCY?? THEN YOU WOULD WHINGE*** Least this way those of us who come on here to find scam numbers get the right ones, not ones you are whinging about coz of your neglect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   P.S All 08 numbers to o2 are free of charge so regardless of what number you ring either 08448471424 or 202 it is free so stop bloody whinging.....more than ya get from other companies with 08 numbers.....

I've just had a call from this number but I don't have an outstanding bill!

Guess what? They've just phoned again even though my bill was settled last week!

Not true, it apparently also calls people who are not in arrears.  My husband received two calls today, and after looking up the number and finding out it's the O2 line, he checked to make sure the payment had gone through as usual, and it had, the account is paid and up to date.  So it's not always correctly targeting only those who are actually in arrears, no matter what you think.

Accusing people of not being honest and then yelling at them doesn't help either.    It's perfectly legitimate to complain about receiving automated "you are overdue" calls when the account is in fact not overdue.  They need to fix the automated system so it doesn't harass those who have indeed paid their bills properly.

Have you ever heard of punctuation? Additionally, if you'd bothered reading any of the other comments that have been left, people that have enquired about this number had in fact paid their O2 bill, so were confused as to why o2 would call them asking for their bills to be paid.

I have had 2 phone calls today from this company and a letter telling me that my direct debit for my phone bill hasnt gone out. I can guarantee there was enough money in the account to pay the bill. If this company keeps ringing, i will tell someone whos high up in authority as its really pissing me off because i have payed my bill!!!!

Just get your facts straight "fool". Their system is messed up. It calls you even when you have paid. So don't start throwing insults around, unless you're standing in front of a mirror in which case it's totally justified.
