I received calls from this number i didnt answer but after reading comments i too used an online divorce website and i think this is probably where they got my number from, i also received phone calls from 2 other companies today 08009886006 and 01162253841 both trying to sell me something... im guessing todays the day they all make their phone calls!!

Also receiving numerous calls from this number and have also recently used online divorce company who im guessing have sold my number on without consent

I've had 4 missed calls from this number in the last 2 days which has woken me as I work nights but have missed answering as I'm sure it only rings a couple of times. After reading the comments on here I can't wait for them to ring back....they are going to have a very angry person on the phone! I am single and have never been maried but I did look for employment law companies a while ago which could have sold my details on!

got a call today Arron who I spoke to seemed professional, so, I agreed to claiming for mis-sold payment protection on a loan. I completed the on-line questionaire and paid the agreed charge. No reading these messages I worried Have I been scamed

It literally rings once... as if they want you to call back, quite cheeky. No way I am calling back, thanks for leaving the notes here, at least I know it's rubbish.

PS: didn't use divorce site ever, but used Confused once...

This number has rung me for several weeks after completing a telephone survey on ways to save money etc. I did answer their call recently and was asked about payment protection on credit cards etc. When I said that I have a card with payment protection he said he could get me the money back he then asked me for details, how much I owed and the credit limit on the card he then said that I would have to pay £95 to let their legal team check if my case would be taken on if not the money would be returned it would take 24 hours to know I was not happy to give details over the phone and thought if it was a scam they would be taking a lot of money from my card he told me they were regulated by the Ministry of Justice No. CRM 19622 and that I could trust them I do not feel that I can and told him that I had changed my mind they then rang me the next day trying to get details of my card but I think I have had a lucky escape has anybody out there found this firm genuine.

2 calls today - ignored as did not recognise number

I was told by this firm that I had a good case for getting compensation for PPI I had paid on 2 cards they wanted to get the ball rolling straight away on the claim and said the money would be refunded within 24 hours if the case was not taken on.   I was not happy giving them my card details over the phone and thought better of it, despite being reassured that they were a genuine firm and would only take the one payment.  I later went on a web site of another firm and answered a few questions and was told that my case was not worth taking on.  I suspect that First Claims Direct tell everyone that they have a good case to keep their money while they say their case is going forward.  I very much doubt that anyone will get  their money back or any compensation, the phone number I was given goes to a mailbox with a different name every day, so you would never get to speak to the person you should be dealing with.  You cannot get through to the phone number on their address and the web site requires a password and user name.  What is worse is giving people false hopes of getting a lot of money when they will most probably get nothing.

This firm wins every time by telling everyone that they have a strong case for getting money back for Payment Protection on loans, cards etc when they know a lot of the cases they take on will not win.  People are happy to pay and wait months and months only to be told that the case did not win surprise, surprise, they then most probably want more money to try again. If a person has a cast iron case they will win anyway and First Claims Direct gets 25% of the payout so they win on that.  If the case loses they have already been paid upfront for their work and the person cannot claim that money back because they have done the legal work, so they win again. That is why you cannot contact them to cancel before they start the case, after then its too late, Thats the scam  its legal if they only take one payment with the authorisation of the cardholder, but they know that the person is paying that money and will get nothing. I do not think they have ever returned anyones money and said that their case would not win. They win everytime.  BE VERY AWARE OF THIS FIRM.
