Janine, without trying to sound patronising (as I certainly am not) NEVER give any details out over the phone or the internet without being completely sure who you are dealing with. Companies should never ask for your details just to 'check' things or anything like that. If you'd never had any dealings with this company before, you definitely should be a bit more weary when companies phone you up.

It's how many people get scammed these days!! Safe than sorry, never give your details out :)

I keep getting phone calls from this number but I just bother answering it any more, I use to just say, hang on I will just go and get him, as they asked for me by name.....and i would play loud gangsta rap down the phone. I just wish they would LEVE ME ALONE,, AND as I can see the evil scamming BA****ds are watching this stream , take a hint....GET A CLUE,,,,,,f*** OFF.......

Keep getting calls on my mobile from this number.  Have no idea how they got hold of my number as I'm ex-directory and don't give my numbers out.

These idiots have called me 3 times in the last 24 hours, i got sick of it so i called back ( not cheap on a mobile! ) and got an answering machine message stating " Welcome to Action Direct" then she garbled something which sounded a cross between Gaelic and Swahili which i couldn't understand!, i left them with a message to stop calling me.

I keep getting calls from this number.  I rang back and got a recorded message. They call themselves Action Direct now and it's about miss-sold payment protection plans.

This company - Action Direct - is nothing more than a sham and a con out to get your money so that other companies don't screw you. Their telephone system is appalling  constantly ringing me. I have report them as a nuiance call - and that has not stopped their intrusion into my life. When I got the umpteenth call in so many days this morning, and asked politely who they were, once I knew I became more assertive and said I was fed up of them taking no heed of my tequests to delete me from their data base to which their arrogant, rude, offensive, patronising, member of staff said "don't be rude" - if the cap fits woman!

Got a call from 08450 405921 today 23rd Feb 2012 telling me that although data-protection gave them my private (mobile) telephone number, but no other details than i supposedly took out a Nat West loan within the last 8 years of £7000.oo or more (which I did not) and I presume he wanted to tell me about refunds on loans protection etc. He refered to "The UK Ministry Of Justice" but I then let then foreign sounding gentleman go no further until he told me his name, Jason McGuire, working for a company called ACTION DIRECT part of the Fields Associates Group of compabies whose address he said is 12/13 Oldfield Rd, Bocam Park, Pencoed, Bridgend Wales CF35 5LJ. I just filled in the 'contact me' forms of their websites with Daryl Wallis' details.
Ho hum.

Most mobiles have the functionality to block numbers, once you receive a call just add the number to your blocked numbers and your phone will reject any future calls automatically.
Sadly as there are so many companies my list of numbers is growing on a near daily basis!

Told me they were called "Action Direct".
I said I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service.
They ended the call politely, with an apology

Welsh boi and Girl get your-selfs a proper job. you are just an irritation . Cold calling helps no one you are just a bunch of lying chancers

Answered this call the woman on the other end said hello, mumbled and hung up on me!

They keep ringing, and I picked up yesterday. The chap went straight into " You are entitled to £ 3750 compensation due to mis sold PPI" according to his records. Thanksed him and asked him to send me a check for half of it and keep the rest to himself. He was confused and told me that he needs my details, which I declined because he said " according to his records " Asked him when I can expect the money and that they are very nice people because I had never taken out a loan, mortgage or even a creit card. He hang up, guess they won't ring again.

4 phone calls a day for the last fortnight - never antone on the other end, I have resorted to ringing back but just get a voicemail - I haveleft messages asking them to stop ringing me but they keep on and on - has anyone managed to find out who this is yet

My blocked list is now full and won't let me add anyone else - :(

I have repeatedly asked this number to STOP calling me - four plus times a day for the last fortnight - I have had enough - I am registered with the TPS and have made a complaint via OFCOM.  Where do you get off ringing people all day long - some of us work nights you know - I just hope one of your co-workers doesn't need an alert ER nurse one night - especially if they keep on getting woken up by these persistent calls

Asked me if a Royston somethingorother was there.  Said no - wrong number.  "Ah, well while I've got you on, you may be interested in this..." I kept saying no, no thanks, no.  He kept on talking as I was saying no, so I just hung up on him mid-waffle >:@

I received a call from this number asking for "Mark Johnson" or some such name. When I said they must have the wrong number the guy said, "Well we can probably help you as well". I said, "I doubt it" and hung up. They've rung me twice daily since then and I'm getting fed up of it!
