Report a phone call from 08456021111 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Information replies to Early riser 2BT is forwarding a call. Therefore BT is the caller. As in "CALLER ID". It is very simple, the caller is the number in the caller id. The caller ID is 08456021111 (that this section is about). 08456021111 belongs to BT, not the originator of an SMS message that may or may not have made a mistake. BT IS THE CALLER, GOT IT? BT IS THE CALLER?
- Information replies to O2Voicemail is an entirely different service that you have either opted into or not opted out of, given the chance. Either way it is volutary. This number 08456021111, in case you had forgotten, sends messages to people who never knew it existed, never mind being given the chance to opt out. This section is about 08456021111, not anything to do with voicemail. GOT IT YET?
- Carol| 3 repliesHave had two calls within an hour on my landline, didn't pick up because I didn't recognise this number on caller display . Such a nuisance, I will be blocking this later today
- formerly 08456021111 replies to Carol| 2 replieshttp://www.filesaveas.com/bttext.html
You could have answered the call, listened and note down the number that sent your land line a text message before you even committed to listening to the text message read out.
There is no point in blocking it later because the message will expire.
Then again, you'd know that if you read what other people reported about 08456021111 - Canard replies to formerly 08456021111One-time blurters v people who actually figure out that there are previous posts to read. Nothing changes.
- MibagentsmithCalled at 08:09 Sunday morning. As it is a screening phone, I awaited the announcement but the call was ended before it went to he answerphone.
- Caller: No idea
- Call type: Silent call
- Information replies to formerly 08456021111Well, didn't you know some people DON'T answer calls they don't recognise. So why should they answer this one? Other people have reported that this is a nuisance caller, which in many cases IT IS.
- Musketeer| 3 repliesWell, after wasting a large portion of my valuable life researching this number I am no more certain of its credentials than I was when I started. Is it a legitimate BT service providing SMS 'Text-to-Voice' - if so, why when I intercept the call is there about 5 seconds only of a robotic voice giving me what sounds like some message time and duration details? And if it is genuine, why is there no facility to capture the originating number when using this service to retrieve the message? On balance, I think it is a scam. So we have blocked the number on our mobiles, landline phones, and BT CloudPhone system. As we are self-employed and run our business from home we cannot afford to have any such intrusive and invasive scam interrupting us. Finally, even though we are registered with TPS/FPS and every other 'PS' going, and even though we are registered with the ICO for compliance with the DPAs we ourselves get no protection from any of it. If you want to make a complaint under the TPS then be prepared for a mind-blowing form to fill-in asking for so much information - it just is not worth the loss of your valuable time. Just block the number!
- Caller: 0845 602 1111 Unknown
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- since u ask replies to Musketeer| 2 repliesyes, it's "legitimate" - after close of your business hours when it's quieter, send a text of your own to your landline and then listen to 'robotic' guidance in full, which invariably includes the source number (provided you don't suppress it on your handset)
Many of the comments you've ploughed thru are from those who didn't even pick up the phone in the first place then, when they do 1471 or check the phone log, reach the false conclusion that it must be a scam.
The SMS system needs for the phone to be answered, then it'll pass on the message (altho my previous a/phone, before I got CLI, did record part of the intro for about 15 seconds, which was the setting for that phone.)
TPS/FPS? Well, before slaggin 'em off, you really should re-read their website to see what type of calls they do prevent - marketing/sales contacts from bona fide UK-based telemarketers (& more importantly) what they can't, like scammers, fraudsters, overseas based call centres of dubious repute, surveys, opinion polls .... and many, many more (sadly!)
The situation is made worse by "those-in- a-hurry with not enough time/care/commonsense to read the admittedly verbose, cliche-ridden T&Cs" of all to many websites, where the default position is often giving our consent to be contacted! We're all guilty of that failing.
Finally, if you believe that TPS/FPS are so useless, then try de-registering and see exactly where that gets you.
Have a nice day. - Trish| 2 repliesIt's now 5.20pm and this is the 4th time they've rung since I came in 4 hours ago, ( fortunately we have a display phone so ignore unknown numbers) Goodness knows how many times they rang while I was out this morning. Last night it was an empty text message delivered by the BT robot at 10.45pm.

- SarahThis number calls our company main line. Its a text to landline that sounds like a voicemail service, asking you to press 1 to listen to the message. If you do the message says "Great news our new kit has launched" - hung up after that!
- Caller: ?
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Nigel DaviesConstantly getting calls late at night, they leave no message
- Caller: They dont say
- Eddie| 4 repliesThis is a legit BT SMS service. If you're getting late calls just tell the person who's sending the SMS to use your mobile number in future.
- Caller: BT SMS Service
- Call type: Text message
- James replies to A_NoyingThe same thing happened to me 08:44 on Thursday 16 November 2017. This is a scam, it may be a machine calling in the first instance to check the number, then lots of calls come from other scammers, personal injury scammers and much more.
- James replies to since u ask| 1 replyThanks for the comments. If that is the case and it is an sms message why do the calls always come from 08456 021111 ?
- gina valentehow replies to JamesIt is best not to ask why.......just accept blindly that this is the case and the information given is correct.
- Information replies to Eddie| 3 repliesThe call I got from this number was originated by a spam caller. Do you suggest I give them my mobile number?
- post pending moderator approval
- Canard replies to Information| 1 replyI think Eddie was just trying to be helpful, so I suggest you get off your high horse. You could try reading a few previous posts and learn how to regulate calls from this number then you wouldn't either receive spam calls or have to give anyone your mobile number. If this post mysteriously disappears, yours will be the next.
