I rang the number today as they are still calling. It turned out to be Lloyds TSB banking group. I rang Lloyds head ofice and was put through to customer services who agreed it was their marketing number. I asked for the preference to be removed .They did this , also if you have an online banking facility you can do this yourself, i.e. turn of the marketing contact preference . Remember Lloyds have a multitude of companies under its umbrella, so even if you don't bank with them , you may be connected in another way!
Start by ringing 020 7626 1500 LLoyds HQ switchboard and asking for customer services and take the action from there!
    Good Luck

This number has called my mobile phone over 10 times in early July.  I dont answer and they leave a silent voicemail (for about 3 seconds).  It stopped in mid July and has been replaced by 08003 584 490 which has called a further 20 times between mid July and 3 Aug.

I get calls from this company at least two times a day (minimum) and they always leave a message, I have told them over 4 times that the person they want do not live here and to take my number of their system, but still proceeding to get these calls. One of them even had the cheek to say it must of been another company I told to take of their records, not theirs. It's nuisance calls making up fake names. They're debt collectors, I'm getting sick of it, as I've had these calls from the day I received this telephone number.

After researching online I have discovered that the company (Blair, Oliver & Scott) doesn't actually exist.  It is, as has been stated previously, just a 'front' for the HBOS debt collection dept.  The giveaway is actually in the name  -  -  -  B-lair,  O-liver  &  S-cott  + + + B-ank  O-f  S-cotland.

I am being harassed on a daily basis because of a mistake THEY'VE made.  They set up a repayment plan and gave me a reference number.  I set up a Standing Order at the bank using the given reference number.  B.O.S. refused to accept the payments because they didn't recognise their OWN reference number.

They phone at all hours, from 7:45am until 6pm.  I have now written to them informing them that phonecalls will be ignored, both for the harassment reasons and also because I cannot understand anybody at their Mumbai call centre.  Hope that will ease the situation.

    Errrm OK
I'm calling on behalf of your local branch to see if you would be interested in coming in to talk about payment protection or life insurance policies
    No thank you
    Do you have any PPI?
    No
    Would you like any PPI?
    No
    Do you have a mortgage?
    No
    OK, thanks very much
    Bye
    Bye

Not the most thrilling call ever, but hopefully they'll go away now.

I missed a call from this number and 3 other numbers in the last 24 hours.  I looked up the numbers on this site and they were all associated with Halifax.  I know I don't need to pay any money back to them so I won't be answering. I hope the calls stop soon! I registered with TPS in the hope this helps a little...

One way just shout F**CK OFF ! WORKS EVERYTIME ! Then tell them to resign and get a decent job !  --however they will call again relenteslly !!  So on a more professional note!  These people are scum bags - they bully and harass - they bring nothing to the table- their objective is to get money from you by whatever means. Even Zombie debts ( i.e cash paid to them and base amount doesn’t decrease!! )

These debts are unsecured - they have NO AUTHORITY - don't pay them

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> They send out legal letters !! Here is the draft of one you can send to them ...

    Dear Compliance Officer

    Re: Telephone calls to XXXXXXXXX

I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the telephone calls that I have received from your company today.

I am now formally requesting that all further correspondence to me is made in writing only.

I demand that these phone calls stop immediately and to any other telephone number assigned to me on your data base. I am familiar with the terms of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1970

If you continue to call, you will also be in breach of the Wireless Telegraphy Act (1949) and, as such, I will report you to both Trading Standards, The Office of Fair Trading, the police with an insistence via the duty inspector of the reporting police station that a crime report is initiated against your company and subsequently the individual making the call. With an additional posting on the internet for the media and public’s attention to add to the hundreds of complaints about your company’s modus operandi.

Take further note that continued telephone calls after the receipt of a this formal demand ‘not to call’ will constitute a criminal offence under Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003 and you will have been in de facto breach of the Telecommunication act 1984 (as amended) (cf: Section 43. 1 (b), and are committing a prima facie criminal offence attracting a £5000 fine or 6 months imprisonment), on the grounds that it is unnecessary, causes anxiety and is a pointless waste of time.

You will be deemed to have been served notice of my request and I will deem it served three (3) days from the date of thsi letter. I am advising you that any calls received after this date will be recorded with the intention of them being used as evidence against you and your company.

This is the legislation you will be breaching with calls when asked NOT to call

    1. Wireless Telegraphy Act (1949)
    2. Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970
    3. Harassment Act 1970 (As amended)
    4. Telecommunication act 1984 (As amended)
    5. Harassment Act 2000 (As amended) additions
    6. Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003
    7. Privacy & Electronic Communications 2004 ( EC Directive ) (As amended)
    8. Behaviour likely to cause a Breach of the Peace

DO NOT CALL AGAIN - otherwise you will be in serious trouble

    Yours faithfully
