I've had numerous 'missed' calls from this number over the last few weeks. My phone bleeps once (it never rings like a normal call) and I guess this missed call is a way of tempting you to call the number back to see who it is. Definatley a SCAM. DO NOT call the number, instead block it.

Others here have mentioned being called by this number after credit check - well I moved flat a few weeks ago and was credit checked as part of this so someone has given my number out to these SCAMMERS along the way. a@seholes.

Ive just googles this number to see if I can find who it is!!? I have had 9 calls in the last 2 days from them!!!

If they are a loan company then they should be regulated by the financial  services authority by law, which means all their calls have to be recorded for monitoring.

Iv just had this number call me. Iv had several phone calls like this before on my landline number. They are definatly scammers. Dont answer the call or call them back.

Keep getting calls from this number trying to make it sound very professional by saying "This call may be recorded etc...".
They say things like "in the current economic climate managing your outgoings can be difficult etc..". I simply say i'm not interested and hang.
however, i've got quite a few calls now and its starting to get on my nerves.
Is there someplace where we can complaint against it?

Just got a call from this company claiming to be called BEP group asking if i wanted to reduce my debt by 40%.. i said i dont have any debt to reduce so he said why did you apply then? i said i never applied for any application never heard of the company and asked were he got my detials from. he said we 'could' of got my details from previous applications for loans i said i havnt applied for any kind of loans as im only 23 therefor this company is not legit and asked him to remove my details or i will contact office of fiar trading and sue for harrassment. He kept trying to talk over me and get me to sign up so i threatened to sue again if he does not remove my details and he hung up!

i keep getting calls from all these random numbers for debt consolidation and loans etc ignore them all as they are all fraudulent companys! dont answer just reject!

Try this it works, i have recieved almost 60 calls from this firm, i dont have any debts bar a small overdraft . After countless times of asking to be removed from call list i rang the 0161 number as stated in a previous message. I rang them and said i was calling from my employers legal team, that the number they had was a private business number and demanded to know how they got the number , who gave them the number and why they had made the calls , the lady ( english) said she would get a manager to ring me, low and behold 30 mins later paul ( team leader ) rang apologised and assured me that they would never ring again, and to my amazement they have not. These company's know what they are doing is boarderline illegal so when i mentioned a i was from a legal team they soon stopped. I hope this help everyone because i was losing the plot but this works i promise.

I just had a call from this number. When i answered the hung up. I tried calling them back and it just says "this service is closed".

Thanks to everyone on here for the good advice! I've been getting 2 calls a day from this number for the last couple of days and didn't have a clue who it was. Thankfully I googled the number before phoning it back and it led me to this site.

Will just continue to ignore them.

continues calls from this number, do not answer why dont they get the idea you didnt answer it the 1st 50 times y do they think your guna answer the next 100, ridiclous changing my number easyiest way to get rid of them!

with regards to claiming back ppi

Had the usual call from the 0870 number but then hung up, then got a call from 01625870610 saying they were calling from Fresh Start!!!!!  I am assuming this is a new name for them or which ever name they picked from thier book of company names  lol

This number was calling me a lots time but i solved it! When they last time Called me i was asking them to call me back on my landline, cos my battery is running low. So i gave them "my office landline number" :-))))) what is :01242 221491 hmm.... I wanted to see the girl's face when the phone was answered!:-))))))
01242 221491 <<------- This number is the GCHQ`s public phone all the numbers are fully tracked! So anway the phone calls stopped!

An other solution

Becouse it wasn`t working for my friend in Cardiff. He got the same calss as me as all of you! He gave his local police public phone number what is of course is  a regular landline phone the effect was the same as my GCHQ`s trick.

An an other solution for samsung mobile phone users!

Most of newer samsung mobile phones have a reject list in the call settings! Simply add the non liked (hated) phone numbers to the list! That`s it problem solved! Really works! tested on my my ex mrs:-)))

I`m not sure the other phone brands!

i have just received a call off these and no one said anything so in future i will just press reject, they will get fed up before i do

NUMEROUS CALLS!! Really starting to wind me up the wrong way, always in the morning TWICE an around about 6pmish twice. You hang up without answering and they call straight back, NOW, if that isn't harrassment.. I don't know what IS!! Grrr.. Am going to try the 'Business Preference' method if they call again!

This number has my mobile and landline number and call both numbers CONSTANTLY, when I answer, they hang up!

These have called me a few times and I have read about telling them you have a business preference number. These kind of numbers are illegal to call call or something like that. Just tried it so will see if that works. There are a debt clearing agent of some sort and the only time I noticed an increase in these calls was directly after using compare the market web site. I stupidly put in my mobile number and within minutes was being called by loan agents, now they want me to clear my debts.

Just to add to my previous post,

A few people are reporting they hab=ng up when you answer. This is due to the dialing system they use, it will call say 100 numbers but they will only have a few operators so its first answer first connect basis.

Hope that helps, store the number and have a siren ready for the call coming in.
