Worth reading the "Heading off bad publicity" section. Particularly what the OE guy says about pre operative discussions about potential side effects. How does this fit with a consent form handed to the patient ten minutes before the procedure??

Your original post brought me onto this thread as I was horrified at what you said had happened to your wife.  Having lost the sight in one eye due to medical negligence felt for her. My subsequent posts were to try and help as you seemed distraught.  However, when you said that your wife was too ill to go to hospital for a proper examination and in the next breath spoke of going to Scotland and London in a motorhome, I found this difficult to understand.  I do not have and never havevhad any connection with Optical Express, not even as a customer. As for Cumbernauld, apart from knowing it has, I think, a Tax Office, I am not even sure where it is.  You seem to think that it is ok to abuse anyone who questions you, so I will not bother posting again.

I personally think that all David Moulsdale does at work is lie to as many people as he can to convince them to carry on working for him and work their socks off when he is not planning to keep any of his promises or be a good employer .

I also think he takes advantage of good employees who believe or want to believe in everything he says he stands for .

I also think that he is so bent in becoming the next bill gates that he does not realise that he is simply in the wrong sector to make the kind of money and to expand at the rate he seems so desperate to do at the cost of his reputation. , business and wasting all the effort of all the hardworking individuals who are trying to make him happy in his company .

He should be happy and grateful for everything he has . He should go on some courses about how morals can pay businesses dividends , and get staff who are ready to tell him when it's time to draw the line .

Also he needs to grow up . Life is not one big Christmas party . And bullying staff to the point of having no opinions of there own and not listening makes people stop caring about warning their boss that he is making the wrong choices .

And also , there are people out there who are miles more successful than he is. You do not have to be selfish or manipulative or the boss from hell itself to have a successful business .

And anyway ,  money is not everything .

THey only get away with it, because a lot of poor people don't have the money to take them to court, and the legal aid is so hard to get, they ought to be ashamed of them self for  the way they have ruined people's life's, their is many other ways to get. The bull by the horn, ie papers and mags.

    Extract from http://www.davidmoulsdale.tel
"Moulsdale has picked up countless awards for his entrepreneurial endeavours but eschews publicity..."

ROFL - site paid for by David Moulsdale, maintained by his personal IT team!  One of many popping up like weeds...

Is anyone falling for the pathetic attempt at reinventing this (alleged) psychopath's history?!

    Google David Moulsdale (P3):
"Top 100 Eligible Men - Scotland on Sunday 03 Oct 1999
    (1) David Moulsdale, Entrepreneur, 30
    Lives - Dullater, near Cumbernauld.
Catch him - Annoying the Loch Lomond locals on his Kawasaki jet-ski...
Form to date - No rings, though rumour has it he has a girlfriend. Increase your chances by working for him. His life's his job and he prefers to keep his relationships in the business.
Looking for - Someone to help him find his glasses in the morning - he's short-sighted."

    Says it all - shortsighted?!

Apparently one of the scottish Specsavers owners used to work for Optical Express and he tells a story about an employee of Mr.Moulsdale being caught stealing.Mr.Moulsdale offered him the choice of the police or stepping out back for a beating. The employee chose the beating which was duly administered, whereupon Mr.Moulsdale stepped inside and called the police anyway.
Also, there was a joke that if you rang Mr.Moulsdales doorbell the noise it made was not bing-bong,instead it went bada-bing bada-bong.I think this is an organised crime reference,as in The Sopranos.
To be fair these are only stories and it is possible that Mr.Moulsdale liked to cultivate this type of image of himself.

I think David Moulsdale like anyone else does have the right to defend himself .
Maybe all the stories and rumours are not always true .

I think he can still get things right and make a success of things .
If this is all true Maybe he can now think about how he will put things right where needed and only he will know the answer to how he can do that .

Life is a long term  learning process as long as we can learn from our mistakes , and everyone at one point in their life learns something the hard way .

David Moulsdale has had plenty of time to defend himself & put things right!

Surely Danny's story alone is proof enough of that!

I'm afraid David Moulsdale really just doesn't give a dam, he doesn't care about the countless peoples lives who his company have wrecked, all he cares about is money, pure and simple, greed is at the core and we all know what kind of person he truly is and hopefully very soon the world will get to know the truth too, he can't go on throwing his corporate muscle around and stopping all the shocking stories going to press etc, this will all get the better of him eventually, as for his so called 'philanthropy', don't make me laugh, he does it for tax reasons and to make himself out to be some sort of messiah if you ask me, I despise the guy, I really do, it's people like him who will be the eventual downfall of the human race.

But you have made a difference simply by writing it .

I'm sure David Moulsdale will be reading this .

Let's be constructive I know some people are angry and maybe rightly so.

There does need to be a way forward . Maybe everyone could tell David Moulsdale what they would like to have changed in a constructive , clear way and see how he responds. ,

From what I understand no one here is after money . They want their voices heard . I'm sure they do not want their experiences repeated.  And I'm sure they want assurance that their voices have not gone unheard . Those are the important and constructive things .

And I think David Moulsdale for all we know may now begin to fully understand and appreciate the concerns .

I feel sure that that's what the people here posting want and have already achieved to some extent .

There's no 'maybe' about it.  If you'd had laser eye surgery gone badly wrong, & those responsible were ignoring you, I guarantee you'd be angry too!

To repeat - "David Moulsdale has had plenty of time to defend himself & put things right!"

With respect, you obviously know little about this man, as most people posting here actually do!

Nothing has been achieved until DM is personally exposed, & Government legislation introduced for ALL refractive eye surgery!

With respect , I have never had laser eye but have seen someone close go blind so I do feel I can sympathise to done degree I hope .

I think that your move for government legislation is the most intelligent and constructive reaction.
This is the kind of publicity which is every companys worst nightmare , I would think the consequences will probably be severe  for the company.

In that sense I'm sure that David Moulsdsld will take away a lot from this , in particular that he needs to seriously rethink his strategy and attitude based on the feedback  and grow up .

Exposing David Moulsdale is your choice but you are doing it to make him hear what you think . And you may already have achieved that . I feel sure David Moulsdale and Patrick Green are extremely embarrassed at the position they have put themselves in if they had really attempted to bribe you .
It has jeopardised a lot of people's hard work , people within oe and elsewhere who do a great job and deliver excellent patient care and they should feel responsible also for the bad impression they have given of their company and industry , I'm sure they will or should be thoroughly embarrassed and ashamed .

I would encourage David Moulsdale to arrange to meet with you guys and personally get involved on both resolving your concerns and working with you and the government to ensure the highest standards of patient care are maintained and reassure you of this .

Finally I would encourage David Moulsdale to question why an employee who is willing to act in a way which puts the company reputation in jeopardy iis really the kind of culture he should be fostering amongst his workforce .

Patrick James-Green was acting on David Moulsdale's instructions!
