- rachaelHave rung me over 18 times in the last 3 days-absolutely pathetic that they'd harass what they deem to be 'potential' customers like that. I've had calls as late as 9pm! Everytime they ring I press cancel which cuts them off and they still don't get the hint!
I've emailed them to tell them I'm registered with TPS and if they continue to ring I will start a formal complaint. - EmmaI foolishly entered a competition via ASOS.com for free laser eye surgery, it's only a competition, what harm will it do? Or so I thought! 18 missed calls in 6 days later and I am seriously regretting it!
Definatly be emailing customer services to hopefully get rid of them.- Caller: Optical Express
- doorstopperPhoned me today and hung up. Pain in the proverbial. If they ring again, they're getting a piece of my mind.
- Caller: Optical Express, apparently!
- EileenHave had dozens of calls from this number, again after foolishly clicking on the ad in Facebook. At least one a day and as late as 9 at night.
Its driving me crazy!- Caller: Optical Express
- Helen| 2 repliesI got a call today from this number, I didn't know who it was and I'm quite anxious about answering calls from unknown numbers so I typed this telephone into Google and this website came up.
I got a second call and fearing the worst, I answered. A nice Scottish lady came on the phone and I felt it was a nice chat - I didn't feel pressurised and I agreed to go in for the consultation which is free. I checked the small print on their website and it is a legitimate offer.
They have a page on the website where it lists the previous winners of the competition so I'm gonna go in and see if i'm suitable for the laser eye treatment.- Caller: optical express
- WorkerI work in Optical Express and the reason we call a lot of customers is if you have applied for laser because you are showing interest, or we call if you are due an eye test, its also irritating for us to constantly have to call people about this but if you are pleasant and tell us you are not interested that is all that is required ok, someone of us are in the job till we can find something else and we need it to pay the bills, a little manners costs nothing.

I have NEVER dealt with optical express NOR have I entered any competition. So why would I get this number on my mobile? - Figgy"a little manners costs nothing." according to Worker.
Even better manners would be stopping unsolicited phone calls. - AlistairApparently buying sunglasses from them 3 years ago, is all it takes for you to end up on their database somewhere! You'd think they would get the hint after I keep hanging up on them... but apparently not.

- LauraI also entered their free laser eye surgery competition, and within about 2 minutes they rang me to try and book me in for a consultation! Well, I don't want a consultation, unless I've already won the free laser eye surgery! I can't afford to pay, hence why I entered the competition.....
I will contact them by mail to ask them to take me off their list.- Caller: Optical Express
- EricaI haven't signed up for anything to do with this but they phone three times a day, I have no idea where they got my number from!
- taniaunwated calls
- DarrenOptical Express, free consultation for laser eye surgery
- Blind but not that blind!I too entered a "free laser eye surgery" competition (more fool me) and immediately received a call, so spoke to them and told them I was going on holiday. They've since called me every day since I returned (nearly a fortnight ago). I'm certainly not entrusting my eyesight to such an unscrupulous company.
I'm just ignoring them now, good job we've got caller ID.- Caller: Optical Express

- WorkerI work for this company and believe me I wish I didn't. First of all I should point out that I'm a poor student and need work. However as soon as I can get another job I am out of the place. Sadly part-time jobs are hard to come by at the moment.
Anyway first of all the 'win free laser surgery' thing is a con designed to get you to have a laser consultation and hopefully be hassled into paying for laser treatment. Do not fall for it.
Secondly I should point out the extreme pressure that we are constantly under in the place. To put things into perspective management are now making us call numbers that 0-3 months ago said they were not interested. We are phoning people 30+ sometimes 40+ times in a few short weeks. They want us to pressure them again and guess what? They have already stated that they are not interested and unsurprisingly they again state that they are not interested and slam the phone down. I cannot blame them.
Sadly with regards to the above we are just the poor trained chimps on the phone and we have no option but to call and call and call and harass and harass and harass. I have to pay for my course somehow and get by day to day but this job is probably as bad as it could get. What you don't understand is the pressure we are under and the fact that our calls are constantly being listened into. When I am calling I fell a complete sense of dread and I hate it a million times more than you guys as believe me I have to make these calls hour after hour. Optical Express are a horrible company and I have every sympathy for you guys even though you have probably sworn and thrown down the phone at me! I can't say the same for some of my workmates though who either love their small pay and poor treatment or simply do not have the brains to realise it. - only meI just signed up for 'free eye surgery competition' and I hadn't even come off the screen before my phone was ringing, I didn't recognise the number and decided to check it online before answering..... glad I did!!! number is now saved to my phone with the name DO NOT ANSWER. I will also be emailing them and advising them to remove me from the lists, wish I used a false number now.
As for 'worker' nice to hear some honesty about these scams :-)- Caller: Optical Express
- mesame as other people - entered a competition to win laser eye surgery and as soon as I hit enter, my phone rang.... I answered and they hung up - I guess it was an automated service checking my number was real - already wishing I hadn't bothered based on the messages here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
