Phone rang. No-one there when I answered. Did 1471 and immediately thought it was a scam so looked on website. Will probably cost me a million pounds if I ring it back so I won't bother

Well what's weird is that I got a call from this number and they asked for me by name and then hung up! As I live alone, it always a little disconcerting!

Carphone Warehouse bought AOL.

I phoned AOL customer services to ask about this, using a telephone number on AOL UK's website. Asked to speak to a supervisor. They put me in the call queue... and it announced it's Carphone Warehouse.

Round and round we go...

Sorry, I meant to say 'this 0870 330 5275 number ringing me'

This number called twice today. there was silence at the other end. I dialled 1471 and got the number.

Call,s about 5 times a week but never any one there when you pick up

I've just had four calls in 5 minutes..

caller id showed the number, so I didn't answer it..

I was almost tempted to by the fourth call though, I figured it was somebody who knew I was home and I was getting curious..

Number called 5mins ago ..done 1471 and a 14 digit number came up ( 0027 8703305275) thought i was having a call from the moon ..after a long time of waiting for someone to answer on the other end of the line she called me by name asking if i was 100 percent sure i was happy with talktalk

No doubt they'll probaly call again

Called last night and twice this morning, the first one getting me out of bed. Never anyone there and a really long spooky message on my machine with strange noises and breathing.

Glad I found this site, its till really annoying but less creepy!

We have had several calls from this number the same as other people, with noone on the other end of the line when you say hello. If it is Talk Talk i dont know how/why they are calling us as we are with Bt Broadband and are listed as ExDirectory to avoid nuisance marketing calls..?

Same as most people on here. Never anyone there when I pick up and it's seriously p*****g me off. I've got better things to do than answer silent phone calls. I'm not with Talk Talk, AOL or Carphone Warehouse, either. Is there anyone out there who knows how to stop these people? They're not the only ones who ring, either. I'd need a website of my own to list them all.

With talktalk (but not for much longer as they are sooooo rubbish) getting these calls with no one on the other end.

Have been registered with the telephone preference service for several years, but it doesnt appear to be making any difference with these guys, maybe because we are already customers?

I was rung today as well and have had similar experience to previous posters.  Who can we complain to?

bloody numpties !!!

They said they were aol and they are trying to sell phone line and broadband. They dont seem to get the point what they offer is more than waht Iam paying and worst specs!!

twice ,today ,this no.called me &when answered ,it cuts off.

2 calls from this number 2:12pm & 6:20pm - I'm just waiting for an opportunity to answer the (at work during the above times) and they will get more than they bargained for - I'm a talktalk customer tied in for 18 months with their appalling service (took 16 weeks to get connected to broadband).  I shan't renew the contact needless to say!
