just had a call from who ever they are it was strange, had to keep saying hello before a women or man ( couldnt tell strange voice) finally spoke also told me they were AOL and and asked for the bill payer!

yes it's AOL. Trying to get us to switch from BT as they say they are cheaper. Be careful. I said I wasn't the person who paid the bill just to get them to go away but was then told I didn't have to be. If I thought I was a decision maker I could discuss it with them. I told them I was a decision maker and that I decided that they shouldn't call me again.

Had an HSBC message saying we cannot connect you, then blank I not rang them, five mins later this HELLO HELLO voice 08703305275!

This number called today .. picked up the call and it was silent. *&^**&

These days a lot of companies are using shared call centres/telemarketing companies. This means that the same number on your caller id. could be Admiral Insurance or, for example, Churchill or a bunch of others and, when you call the number back, the message might say they are someone else again.

Strictly speaking, I think that, if you call the number, it should identify itself as the call centre/telemarketing company and, ideally, give details of their own customer service number, e-mail address and website.

Then again, some of the well known brand names that you would expect to be competing in the same market are all owned by the same company.

In the case of Admiral, I knew it was them calling me but when I called back, the message said it was EUI Limited. To quote from Amiral's website:-

"Admiral is the trading name of EUI Limited. Insurance is effected between EUI Limited and certain insurers as listed on your Certificate of Motor Insurance."

For the record, Churchill is owned by Royal Bank of Scotland.

AOL, a Time Warner company, is not owned by Carphone Warehouse. In terms of company size, CPW would probably fit in a Time Warner parking space. Their broadband and telephone operations in the UK may have a connection though.

Remember, everything branded as Virgin is not necessarily owned by Sir Richard. It could be a franchise, which is confusing. You don't know what your getting. The Bush Radio company has not existed since the sixties but Alba own it now and has reintroduced this 'trusted' brand for some of its radios, TVs etc. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_Radio).

Have received countless calls from this number - any time of the day or evening and ANY day - I don't pick up because, as far as I'm concerned, I don't know who it is.....

Really annoying...

It is talktalk 4 times in 3 mins.

man said he was from talktalk/aol i reported it straight away.scammer scumbags !!

i have been getting calls from this number, several times a day. when it started i used to answer it but there was never anyone there, just office noise. after getting several more of these nuisance calls i got caller id added to my line and setup a modem and a software answering machine on my pc called callstation. i have set the software to instantly answer these bu***rs and play a message that gives them the gist of what i think of them, it then cuts them off. all this happens without my phone even ringing. its great. that'll teach them!

call is very frequent. today called 4 times in an hour. very annoying, sometimes when i pick up its only ofce noise. I mostly dont pick up

It happened to me as I was about to drop off to sleep no answer when I spoke.If I have another one i'll call Talk Talk and cancel my package and see if that will stop this type of call.

I'm really fed up with being interrupted by stupid waste of time calls when no-one is on the other end of the phone. I enlisted with the TPS to stop this so why can't we do anything about it. Arghhhh!

Just rang this number back and it's AOL - they're calling me at work and there is no reason to contact me as we (at work) do not use them as part of a very large organisation and no one would have my work number unless it's work related - i.e. it's mindless fruitless spam on their part,saving grace is I'm away from my desk when they call!

This number belongs to three. Ive rang it back and it says you were called by three regarding an exclusive offer. Considering they keep ringing me and harrassing me and a lady from threes head office in maidenhead came to my house to witness the harrassment on my landline. Have called her and shes investigating it. Nightmare company.

Have had several missed calls on my mobile from this number. Tried to call it back to be told by Virgin (my provider) that I am just about to ring a satellite phone!! The call charges to ring a satellite phone are sky high - so didn't bother.

Lots of calls from +8703305275  it is a satellite phone and will not accept a return call.

Calls me once every day. When I answer there is no one on the end!
