- Vinnie replies to Vinnie| 1 replyWell I finally received a full refund from FREE & EASY on 4th Jan and I have now changed my Credit Card so that they can't scam me again. Having said that I was quite impressed with how quick Free & Easy dealt with this matter so if you have the same problem just give them a call on 0871 2242255 and ask for a full membership refund.
- Bharat Ghayal replies to Mrs Jennifer DewberryI have never received a letter from these people nor a telephone call but they have taken the money from my bank account.
- KiKat replies to Boot| 2 repliesDoes anyone have an email for these people so that I can contact them? who do they think they are? and why are our details being given out just like that!!!
- Steve D replies to KiKatTheres no email address for these people see previous posts for the Devon postal address, contact them via the telephone number only. Spacebags always deny being apart of this company but they are all one if you speak to an Amanda at Spacebags she is the manager of the call centre and you also speak to her if you need to complain about Free and Easy strange or what!
- miparyjust received a letter and brochure from free & easy. this is the first I have heard of them. they say I ordered by mail order NO I DID NOT. phoned the police and they advised me to get in touch with the bank and cancel my debit card and order a new one. bank were happy to do that, so far no money gone out of account or pending, I think I caught it in time. no one can afford money like that going missing from the bank and its too late when you get your statement.
- mipary replies to KiKatNo e-mail, but if you go on the free & easy web site there is a contact us tab----but then they will have your e-mail and you may get lots of annoying e-mailsform them
- bry891We ordered and received an Aiganix machine from Pressplay Shopping from an advert in the Daily Mail. A couple of weeks later I received a phone call asking if we were happy with our purchase and also asking if we would like a brochure of other products. I said no thankyou, but despite this a brochure arrived with a covering letter which mentioned we had joined a club and they would be removing £99.99 from our credit card after 1 month. The address where these outfit`s operate from have already been given ( Dunmow in Essex ) and we have phoned to say we do not wish to join or be involved.
We have reported this scam to Consumer Direct, who are already investigating our complaint. Just phone 0845 4040506 and ask for Enquiries Unit. You can also fax. 0207 2118877 any paperwork.
It is well known that it is illegal for one company to pass credit/debit card details to another organisation, but it could be Free & Easy and Pressplay Shopping are connected !
It is a scam and needs to be stopped !- Caller: Pressplay Ltd
- VIProdsAfter my Wife received the Brochure & cover letter, I contacted "Action Fraud" which is a Government funded body (yes, paid by you & me). They said that "Free & Easy" were Legal ! even to the 30 day free trial which would be seen as a "cooling off" period. They also said that they will have agents that they pay a commission to if they pass on their Customers name, address, 'phone number & Bank details ! what ever happened to the "Personal Information Protection Act". If the powers that be see this as legal, then the British legal system is an [***] !
IF YOU RECEIVE A 'PHONE CALL OR BROCHURE FROM THIS COMPANY, CANCEL YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD, IMMEDIATELY.- Caller: FREE & EASY

- barbieI cant believe that SCUM robbing spacebags have sent me 2 emails after stealing money out my bank account. 1st email asking me if I would like to be on T.V saying how good their spacebags are and that they will pay £25 towards travel expenses and pay for lunch and give me a dvd of the finished advert and the 2nd email asking if I would like 25% off my next order. I am bloody fuming. They said in first email that they are making a NEW ADVERT so please be on your guard. They are low on money and are trying to steal even more one way or another as if they are stealing our money then they are not going to give money for lunch or towards travel expenses. For anyone that's interested the email to reply to this is...... info@originalspacebag.co.uk WHY are they getting away with this. I cant believe that there is nothing that can be done to stop them. There has got to be some kind of law to stop these scum bags. Who is suppose to be protecting us from the fraud because I can not find anyone that wants to look in to this. You just know their up to no good again. FREE AND EASY and SPACEBAGS are in this together. PLEASE NO ONE GET SCAMMED BY THEM AGAIN. Please tell everyone you know about this new one and get them to pass it on to people they know. WHEN WILL IT END.

- elderlybrother replies to F Williamson| 1 replyMy partner received a brochure from 'free & easy' this morning - stating it would be taking £99.99 out of her account within 30 days. She rang them and cancelled it. They said she had agreed on the phone, but she was unaware of any such call. Having investigated on this site, we have traced it back to November when she bought on the telephone some craft goods from 'Craft4' who had advertised in the Daily Telegraph. The goods arrived OK. She received in January a call asking her if the goods had arrived OK. She was asked if she would like to receive a "craft magazine" on a 30 day free trial, to which she agreed, together with a number to cancel. The craft magazine has never arrived, but the 'free & easy' one has. There's the scam! She was agreeing to something without being given the correct information. On discovering this she has cancelled her debit card with immediate effect. No money has been taken from her account, but it might have been! We will be contacting the relevant fraud agencies and the Daily Telegraph.
- mystiI have just received the Free & Easy brochure, I had no idea why I had received it, so I rang them and apparently I had received a phone call on 19th January from a company whom I had purchased an item from and they offered it to me .I do not recall having a conversation with anyone about this and they cancelled it for me.I didnt ask what country I was calling but the lady was English and was very pleasent. I will just keep an eye on my account to make sure nothing is taken out.

- Dawn Eade| 1 replyHi I used www.craft.com last summer, received a call a few weeks ago asking if I was happy with my purchase, price etc and would I like a free catalogue with discounts on craft supplies!!! etc apparently there was a membership club I could join but the catalogue they were sending me was free and I could pass on to a friend or bin it if it was of no use! This morning I received a brochure from free and easy living explaining that i would be paying £99 for a holiday club luckily i read the letter as I knew I hadnt asked for a hoilday club brochure could have easily stuck it straight in the recycling! Have called both companies cancelled this subscription and explained my dissatisfaction. Cant believe they can pass my card details on. I rang my bank but they just said nothing they could do and keep an eye on my statements!

- MarkThis seems to be a very wide spread scam. Every is complaining, but the only action is done by individuals. Some one is needed to organise these feelings and contact
1 Watchdog using alarge number of examples
2 Contact the newspaperssaying that the papers will no longer be bought if these adverts are still carried
3 Contact M P' to get this type of organisation made illegal- Caller: unknown
- MarkFurther to yesterday's comment, I forgot to say that this problem should have been sorted by now.
When this company takes money from our accounts the request to the credit /debit cmpany has to come from a company/organisation recognised by the credit/debit company, so why hasn't the credit/etc put all these complaints together and taken action against Free & Easy and their partners? This scam looks as though it could be stopped by the credit / debit card companies getting together and warning the scammers to act in a proper manner, and if that didn't stop it - to withdraw their access to the system.
To me this seems very logical and easy to do, and it's Free & Easy Lifestyle for those being scammed- Caller: not knwown
- geri| 1 replyI am just off the phone and cancelled my membership .I spoke to' Vicky',who denied having my card details when I quoted from their letter that "you need do nothing--------we will process your debit/credit details." and that according to this forum peoples cards had been used. She could not send an email of confirmation but confirmed my cancellation @16.58pm. today.
When I asked if she was based in Exeter or Devon she said Marbella and when I queried the dialling code was told it was a BT international prefix. (by the way the phone was answered immediatly)
I contacted my credit/debit card providers prior to the phone call. The credit card would be covered but I would need to order a new debit card which is inconvenient at this time.So hopefully nothing further will happen.I will be forwarding details of this Scam through a contact to all CABs and other consummer organisations.Thank you everyone for your input in making us aware of this scam.- Caller: free&easy lifestyle
- Steve D replies to geriAll lies Geri, you were through to the Barnstaple, Call Centre of Pressplay.
The company may be registered in Spain, but the Spanish address they give is a mailing house. - ben| 1 replyI saw this mysterious £99.99 payment today on my bank statement.
Phoned Barclay's fraud and told her the name free & easy and she knew immediately what it was about.
She cancelled my card and gave me their number (08712242255) to call.
After calling they say they will refund....we will see.
How the hell is this happening, I've not had any phone call or letter...and I've certainly not agreed to any trial or whatever it is this con was about!! - BrushOn 5/1/2011 I received a letter from free&easy Lifestyle, & a 34 page glossy brochure, offering a FREE trial in the Free&easy program. All members entitled to a Free One Week Of Holiday Accommodation in one of their luxury resorts, worth approx £600 per week. The letter also included "in the unlikely event that you are not happy with your membership, just call our customer service department ... on 0871 224 2255. Being convinced that this was a scam, & that they couldn't get at my money without my authority, I didn't bother to phone. (I wonder how much this 0871 number has collected)! However, today I received a credit card statement from my bank: 27 Jan FREE & EASY 0871 2242255 £99.99 - & I'll bet that this also collects a fair sum.
I have just emailed consumerdirect, but due to the high volume of Scams Reports, they are unable to respond to each one. I have also phoned the Visa Disputes Section at my bank.- Caller: free&easy
