These companies are Scum who prey on people who are looking for a loan! Dont go near them they will take a "registration fee" or "administration fee" and theres no chance of seeing the loan or fees again!

Just had a call from this number claiming to be doing a quick survey was that OK? When I said I was on the TPS they rang off but left a number. When I rang it the recorded response said they were the 'One Stop Loan Co.' I have had no previous contact with them so they had no reason to call me, I was glad I cut them off. Judging by the way they rang off at the mention of the TPS they were well aware that the call was against the regulations.

I had a call from this number too, he said he was doing a survey.  I couldn't hear what he said the company was called.  I asked where he got my number from and he said BT enquiries, I told him we were ex directory and he just hung up without saying anything.

this number rang me and when it had detected I had picked up, connected me to an Indian call handling center operative who then attempted to ask me some questions at which point I interrupted them and asked for the company they were doing this for. Got no reply to my question and they continued to try to get me to agree to answering some simple questions at which point I told them to get lost in no uncertain terms.

This number has rang me 7 times each time I have told them (always man called Sam or Daniel english name but Indian accent) I did not want to partake in their survey and to remove my details from their database. Total low-life scum, no concience preying on the poor. I am registered with TPS I asked were they got my number and they lied, Im not in the phonebook.

Answered phone twice and no one there, obviously a call centre calling multiple lines to see who answers.

This is a scam just had the same call today out of the blue and some foreign [***] told me I have been accepted for a £2000 loan and wanted me to help them out by giving them my bank details to transfer the money into my account, which I refused. I asked about signing an agreement and they told me they will send me an agreement by email after they have transfered the money into my account.

I know for one that thats not how it works as I used to work for a loan company and the customer has to sign the agreement not only for the loan, but to give the agent permission to do a credit check before they will even think about giving you a loan.

If you get a call from this number try to record it !!!

I had a call from this number today. The line went dead as soon as I picked up the receiver. I assume this was a 'rubbish' call, and an unusual case where the number was available.

Just had a call from them too. I work in marketing so don't mind answering lifestyle questions but sounded a bit fishy from the off - no intro of company he is working for questions were asked in a rapid fire way - asked about whether home owner, life insurance, whether employed etc then asked to check postcode and house number which was totally incorrect, so I said not happy to give this info and he hung up on me... very dodgy if you ask me...

This is a pure scam. Research has revealed that 08719860475 has something like eight or nine aliases, and the dialling code only reveals "Special Services," which at the moment is running the "Your Loan has been approved" scam across the UK.

0870 or 0871 should instantly ring alarm bells. They're premium rates, costing up to 10p/min. (And a source of revenue for the scammer... usually 3p per answered cold call... and that soon mounts up, so don't add to their bank balance by dialling the number!)

Any scammer can get a number as easily as this:
Standard 0871 numbers cost just £9.95 + VAT to set up. There are no monthly or yearly service charges to pay.
Various providers... (XXX Communications Limited is just one example) can set up any number of 0871 numbers to point to just one existing land line number. This gives the scammer the opportunity to use different numbers for different scams, which can be almost untraceable, because unlike normal land line numbers, 0871 numbers are not tied to one specific area of the UK.
The scammers also use mass dialling. If you are unfortunate enough to pick up first, you get treatment. A simple answer is to let the phone ring for a while. The software at the other end will time out and move on to the next victim. If it's a genuine call, you can easily check with the answering system on your phone. Check out the number. If you recognise it, use call back. If it's 0871... you've been targeted.
AND MOST IMPORTANT. NO-ONE WHO IS LEGITIMATE WILL EVER DEMAND BANK OR PERSONAL DETAILS... IF THEY DON'T ALREADY KNOW THEM YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED!

The name given over the phone was "UK Financing." This company is apparently genuine, but unconnected to this attempted scam. The scammers are using at least three different false names, and are fraudulently using the "UK Financing" name as a cover to extract money from your account if you are foolish enough to provide them with your banking details.
