    i have received several phone calls from this number in the last two weeks
    they call then hang up when you answer
    call back and it is an optus number
    call their customer service number and they say the quickest they will answer is in 10 mins - this is annoying when I dont even have an optus phone

    I've been getting calls every day for the past week or so - starting to really p!ss me off!!  Time to get onto Optus now I know who's behind it!! I was initially reluctant to call the number back, for fear it was one of those scams...

    I have had weeks of this same number calling it is totally ridiculous,never a message, what is the point, it is not giving Optus a good look annoying there customers or potential ones. Maybe it's a revenue raising tactic to get us to call back and charge us?

    They keep calling, I keep pressing ignore on my phone, put them in my address book as "telemarketing scum" so I know who they are.

    Need to work out how to get the phone to auto-ignore them.

    Why do they think I want to hear their crap ?

    Maybe thats the problem, they don't think & neither does their management, must be time to change carriers again.

    Called by them twice - first time hung up.
    Second time a few days later decided to take it after reading these comments.
    Was Optus - they definitely knew about my details - what plan I was on etc and were offering an upgrade to a different plan. Didn't take it cos it wasn't what I needed.
    But the guy was actually fine with that and didn't push it at all.
    I've had other Optus telemarketers who are much more pushy.

    I have been getting calls from this number since monday 21st.. at least 2 per day from Wednesday onwards... now it's friday morning and I'm a bit over it since even if I manage to answer it before they hang up they still aren't there to talk to.  clueless.. at least I know I'm not the only one..  it is mildly annoying though as everyone else has stated and pointless..

    I've been getting calls from this number lately, 3 rings then they hang up. I didn't bother answering because I knew it is Floptus from the other times they've rung me (not that they leave much of a chance to get to the phone). My contract is about to end so no doubt they are calling to get me to upgrade my phone / sign up for a new contract.

    My partner is waiting for his current Optus contract to expire so he can cancel and go to another provider, and he has been receiving these calls lately as well. He answers and asks them to make a note on the system not to contact him again, and that he isn't interested in their offer, yet a day later, the same guy rings him again. He tells them, again, that he's not interested and to stop calling him, yet - guess what - they rang again!

    Seems even if you politely decline their offer and ask them directly to record in their system not to call you again - even that doesn't work!

    Can't wait for my contract to expire so I can switch to another provider! Although I won't be suprised if they still call me...

    I decided to Twitter Optus and ask why do I keep getting calls from this number, with the caller hanging up with only 1 -3 rings and leaving no message.

    They got back to me straight away with "If you send me your details through to http://yesopt.us/ID....  we can opt you out of all Marketing - Holly"

    Will give it a go - even though they should really find out why they have someone pretending to make sales calls who is just ringing a bunch of numbers and hanging up.
