I've started entering these numbers in my contacts and label it Ignore this call so I don't answer them.

I just had same. I answered after one call and they hung up

I have had two calls from these idiots today. Both did not leave messages. I get these every few months. I rang this number back. It answered Optus. It said ring another number 133345. It answered Optus. I got put through to sales (because I know the 08 number is trying to get me to sign a new contract).
The dick wad who answered said he name was "Avenish" and sounded Indian said he was in Australia.......thanks for that........He got all shirty with me (Obviously failed the customer service program)

I told him to take a message and pass it on......no more phone calls. Pass it onto 08 etc. he wouldn't.

The dumb wad said I had two options. I said yes and here ARE the two options. Take a message or take a message I DO NOT WANT THESE CALL SPAMMERS TO CALL ME AGAIN. Apart from I am OfF contract and about to change carriers due to the ANNOYING phone calls. Get it? He didn't get it. I hung up.

Call every day at least once, never speak.

Is it definitely a legit Optus number?
When I answered, I was asked seemingly legit questions, however they wanted me to answer a few security questions for identification when they were the ones who rang me.
Makes me doubt it a little.

Been recieving calls from this number for 2 weeks now, its optus... twice a day, I do not answer... seeing how long it takes before they give up....

these people are a nuisance

It is not actually Optus, it is a telemarketing company that wishes to sell you Optus products. I VERY STRONGLY suggest that no-one ever signs up for anything in response to a call (or door-to-door).  If you want something, contact them.  I previously worked in an Optus Premium Dealer store and we constantly had customers coming in hoping we could fix problems that these phone or door-to-door dealers have caused.  In my opinion, Optus (and other companies) should ban this method of selling as it tarnishes their image (especially when they pretend they are the company themselves!!!!!

Getting daily calls from this number. Seems to happen sporadically one week on, a couple of weeks off, one week on. Very annoying.

I too have had 2 calls from this number today, didn't answer the first time the second time they hung up when I answered. I will be making a complaint to Optus if this continues as I have already renewed my contract with them 3 days ago.
I have never agreed to advertising from Optus.

4 calls in twenty mins, I'm not answering and I've already spoke to Optus today in regards to this matter, I wish they would leave me alone

getting calls daily from this number for a week now, and even though i have hung up on them once initially and then turned my phone off for days to avoid them, they still keep ringing my phone back because i get missed calls in my msg bank! STOP the nuisance calls! do you really need to be told that your phone calls are unwanted, even if people hang up on you or are uncontactable ?

Rang when I was on my other line and left no message.

google search indicates this is optus...how do you get them to stop??

Unknown number and annoyance

I have had 3 missed calls from this number in the past 2days, each time it only rings twice then hangs up. My account is with Optus, but I don't think it's Optus as I have never had any dramas with them. Having read the above comments I suspect it's a "dodgy" caller.
