they say u are eligible for a government grant for loft  insulation......dont know if its for real or a scam

Very poor english. Asked to speak to the house owner about government grants for the house.

The telephone preference service only works for calls from the UK. These are obviously coming from abroad so there's no way of stopping them.

I've had two calls, one from an entirely different but similarly short number the other day. I answered the call today but the line was dead - it's obviously a system that switches their operators to the next call, but if no-one is available the line cuts off.

they get your name from the electoral register so they say -annoying!

They ask if you have received your government grant for cavity wall and loft insulation; presumably, a supplier of these products!

Call from 091496, person calling sound foriegn saying about grants for your house, said I was not interested, put the phone down

This number 'phoned at 15.15 today, 2nd August.  No one there when I answered and the 'phone went dead when I rang it back.  This has happened on several occasions now.

Pick up the phone when ringing..but no one on other end

The 'phone today gave one peep and stopped. The number was 091496. Then it rang again and stopped by the time I reached for it (only 5 seconds) and again it was this number.

Had a call about an hour ago, answered it (I don't have caller id on my landline), there was a pause, then someone foreign asked if I the home owner,  I asked where they'd got my number from, and she said "from a database".  I said that I shouldn't be getting any unsolicited calls, and to take me off their database.

This number 091496 just called me, asked for the home owner asked what they were selling said home installation. Told him we were ex-directory and asked how he got our number, he said we gave it to them and then hung up!

I had a call at 6.30pm from this number yesterday but as I have caller display did not reply.
091496.    No message left.

Just received a call from this number,asian man wanting to speak to the lady of the house,I put the phone down I am sick and tired of getting these phone calls

Got a call from these ppl today.....obviously from abroad..telling me as the lady of the house i was eligable for a gervernment grat for loft insulation. Played along for 10 minutes and 10 seconds until THEY put the phone down on me...they will get fed up of me before i do of them!

This number 091496 and a very similar one 0191496 have called me on an evening at my home address.
I would like to know who this person/company is.
It's very strange as there isn't an area code or the usual 0800, 0845 infront of it etc.

Me again, I forgot to add, I do have caller display so have not answered these calls.
I too am ex-directory so perhaps I should answer them next time if I'm in and tell them to take me this "database"!  Similar, these calls have been around 5.00-6.30 pm.

All of these cold calls are coming from call centres in India.  If you read the following you will see that many of the people involved are actually criminals and fraudsters selling and buying lists of intended victims.

Caller: Indian Call Centres

Am receiving calls from 0191496 two or three times a day but never anyone at the other end. Have caller display and am now not answering the calls.  Also ex directory and tps.  Have also opted out on the electoral register and don't give my number.

Called our house this evening (Saturday) luckily we have caller id and did not answer
