- Emil replies to Alicei had this once... it was because it was free texting app from an iPod touch. so you can only contact the friend if the friend tells you their number and it shows up as 1000... so you cant get messages from people you dont like.
- Brenda MorrisI keep getting calls from 100 000 0000. I pay to keep my number private and I would love to know how the got my number. I get these calls about every two weeks. Sometimes a person says "hold the line for this important message" Sometimes it just goes into the recording. I believe it belongs to Victoria Cruises. It is definitely selling a cruise. I would dearly love to have this stopped. I would also dearly loved to have them hauled up on harassment charges as when a person has been on the line I have said no hoping I could speak to them and have this stopped, they still put the message through anyway.

- AlyJust got a call from this number....it was a DirectTV person asking to switch. She had a very heavy accent of some kind, so I assume it's just a spoof and they're trying to weasel money out of people.

- pissedoffThis number has been calling me all day and I finally decided to pick it up. The guy on the other line said that I was randomly selected to receive a gift card for $150 and all I needed to do was pay a $2.95 activation fee. He sure had an attitude, laughing like I was an idiot for questioning him. He keep saying the same thing over and over and every time I asked a question he would try to give me the most unclear answer and went back to saying the same speech. He said he was from USbenefit and he was a promoter for Walmart, Target, Bestbuy, and McDonalds. He also said that the only reason he has my information is because I had shopped at one of these stores.

- JM replies to JessicaThis is a perfect example of how data-mining is scary. Those of you using social media sites are freely offering up a detailed profile of every aspect of your lives on a silver platter. Don't sign up for social media, use private browsing features of modern browsers, don't blog or post things about your personal life, don't post, tag, comment-on, etc. personal photos... this isn't rocket science.
If you use the internet without knowing the risks and protecting yourself your life is an open book. Call it paranoid if you like, it's a fact, and those not heeding the warning are simply willing pawns in an information age. Might as well unlock your doors and make copies of your house keys, credit cards and any other private information cause otherwise anyone can get it if they bother to try. - Wesley replies to cj-gaVire e mexe tenho ligações no meu celular desse número 100 0000 1000 e ninguém fala nda.
